Snowgod
yup
And here's his butt
anything i can do lol
he was cold
Why was my first reaction to start typing "sniff"?
He shouldn't be cold, he's in the purple vents area
A good way to keep a channel active is to start an argument
No it's not, lol
It keeps it active until mods deal with it
Then don't include me, my shiny reputation could be tarnished
If I were to start an argument then don't join
OK
Nothing to argue about though
Hey I know -- Solar is the best power source!
Until crystal caves
Yes, during the day
Og has a pretty boring story ngl
did get this weird thing in the og on switch, one day my base just got stuck with no lights for p much the rest of the game
My current base is thermal powered tho -- I figured if the ||Architects|| used it, I should also
it was this middleground between power on and off
cause it was dark but dark enough t osee and o2 wasnt going down
I have finally gotten every seatruck module blueprint except the one that unlocks from story progression idk what one to make at the moment though, anybody got some suggestions on what i should make?
I dont have any modules made right now so i have these choices: storage module, fabricator module, sleeper module, docking module, and aquarium module
It's different trust me
Eh ig ill just farm resources and try to make them all
The one that unlocks from story progression.. is it the ||teleportation module||
I like to make the fabricator module first, it seems the most useful all around, and even has a locker in
Sound settings can be adjusted
Ik but wich one?
Not sure, but it will be in 'options'
Ive never heard of that one, i only heard that a module unlocks from story progression maybe thats the one idk
I wouldn't say it's useful since ||it consumes ion cubes, which are limited||
Alright thx for the advice and also i finally managed to get the parallel processing unit
Voice probably
Nice
Anyone know how to create base-attached-pumps like in the first game?
I never actually used those in the first one cuz i didnt know what they would even do
Same, but now that I'm making a base in a pretty deep location, I thought they would be useful
but even after checking the wiki I can't find a way to make them
They may not be in BZ at all
You attach the pump onto the base, and then put pipes on it
I was pretty bummed after finding out that the ultra glide fins werent in below zero
and oxygen comes out of the pipes
Yeah.. There are a few times when they would be useful
The wiki says they are
Wiki article may be outdated tho
Yep and the swim charge fins dont work that well because u cant charge ur seaglide with them because theres no off switch on it
whaaat
? you can charge your seaglide with them
I just said cant not can
try turning the map and light off, those use extra power which might cancel out the charging
Do they charge items if your just sitting still in the water?
Swim charge fins charge your held tool, so if you hold the seaglide while swimming, it charges
Reasonable
Personally it works for me, I just try not to use the light much
And the map is almost never helpful anyways, so I keep it off
I just would love to try it out
But the seaglide loses power while you use it so basically lets say you have the swim charge fins on and your seaglide is at 1 percent power every time it would maybe hit 2 percent it would immediately hit back to 1 percent because the seaglide uses power up fast even with the map and light off
So thats why i said the seaglide cant really be charged by those fins
Yeah, no
I can tell you, at least in the Switch version, the power level goes up
it doesn't use power that fast.
Swim charge fins don’t increase the sea glides amount of power.. it just makes the seaglide lose power in slower duration
They do
Except in the Switch version
never works for me
they literally do, if you're using a reinforced dive suit and ultra capacity tank though, you get slower, which I'm pretty sure makes it charge less
Which could cause it to not charge
Then why can i give my seaglide a new battery and literally not even 2 minutes pass and im at 70 something percent
I dont use the map or light
Are you using a reinforced dive suit and ultra tank?
Only suits i have at the moment are the cold suit and water filtration suit
Hm..
But yes i have the ultra high capacity tank
What version?
Wdym what version?
Nvm
If u mean what i play on i play on steam version
it's probably the ultra tank, I use a reinforced dive suit and high capacity and don't have any problems
How would the tank have anything to do with it? It doesnt use up power
I am confused
Welp imma just go i need to get more resources for my seatruck modules
It makes you go slightly slower
and as I said before, I'm pretty sure swim charge fins are based on speed
Which would generally make sense
My seatruck has fabricator storage and prawn modules but i dont drive it often
what do you do when you get stuck between rocks
on foot
also my alien distress beacons are taking me backwards in progress.. I have already been to many of the places the beacons are taking me now.
wow please help. i ran out of oxygen and the game spawned me inside of my docked sea truck... but i am not piloting the sea truck, im just stuck inside the interior with no way to get out.
can you enter the sea truck through a hatch
can you not start driving? or exit
i cannot do either.
i had this the other day and i was able to fix it by clicking the hatch at the top where you would normallyexit
load a save then. As for beacons, turn them off!
what are beacons? also i just happened to fix it but it was by clicking the bottom right corner of the seat. nothing was obvious about why that would have worked, but the prompt showed up
Ok. Save often. Now check out the tab for beacons in your PDA. Turn off and/or change color for visited
Chelicerates are scary.
I'd go as far as to say they're probably scarier than Shadows
Though the concept of a big shrimp that tries to eat you is kinda silly
Anyone have prawn loadout tips for fighting a ||Shadow Leviathan||? I'm currently using ||boosters, depth, grapple, and drill||
- Load prawn into seatruck docking module
- Drive up, use perimeter defense
Yes, partially a joke reply
im in the mercury 2 and i cannot find all 3 fragments to the parallel processing unit...
One was visible on the side of an engine. The other was inside of a small power cable box...
you probably need to visit more than one wreck. There are 3 of them
ya, two large (bow, stern), one small (thrusters)
kinda. two in purple vents, one in lilypads (south-west corner)
Drill is weaker than punch arm
Kinda just attack and then he runs away and comes back giving you time to repair
i bet there's a big time discrepancy between the protagonist's sister arriving in the planet, and her arriving there.
@eternal garnet are the thrusters on the floor or floating
thrusters is a small wreck, top of purple vents. Two-three important stuffs far below it, by the way
inside purple vents, it is north-east
I did it! (It's in an awkward position, but leviathan spoiler)
Now to hope he never respawns
He won't -- until the update, lol
?
update is not likely to revive him
I've heard game updates resets alot of things tho
he better not come back - my base was part of his patrol path
Oh dear
just get in - monsters ignore bases
More of an outpost luckily
Yeah but it made it annoying to get in sometimes
I was wondering, are there any large mineral deposits in that area? I never lingered long enough to find any
There are a bunch of titanium ones, and probably enough stuff to build a base without importing almost anything
Though gold may prove to be an issue
Only calaverite outcrops seem to be in the main section of the biome
I was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to do some mining there, I've always just grabbed a few ||kyanites|| and got the heck out
||Magnetite|| is extremely abundant near the ||Deep Purple Vents entrance||. I personally set up a ||scanner room, and it's easier than going to the|||| Glacial Basin||
ok i finally got all the seatruck modules i have the blueprints for made
I took a break after 2 were made and now the rest are finally complete
Sounds like you're making a Sea Train
The main two im gonna use though is the storage and docking
Cuz its a hastle to go back for my prawn suit
Me when sea truck
I usually just haul one or two modules at a time
Thats why im mainly gonna use only the docking and storage
I personally just put prawn storage upgrades in my prawn
and then take a fabricator module and docking
The best part of the Seatruck is the fact you can switch modules around to suit your mission
Also where the heck am i supposed to get kyanite in BZ
amongst the crystals
I recommend starting your search in the ||deep purple vents||
Well crap i hate the shadow dudes
I saw jacksepticeyes reaction to them and i was like nope
They love Robin, think she's delicious
Proceed with caution. A leviathan class creature is near.
||They literally don't eat anything other than human flesh||
Yeap
They're not that bad. Bring a prawn suit with a grapple and drill. I recommend ||luring one into a trench and drilling at it while it tries to flee. If it attacks your prawn suit a bunch repair the suit when it takes a break from attacking||
So, here's my plan ... 1- build a base nearby, 2- swim out and let him eat you, 3- repeat until he's full, then he won't attack any more
Theres 3 things all players of subnautica need to know about the creatures of 4546B
- Everything either wants to eat you or annoy you 2. Its either eat or be eaten and 3. You see something you never seen before and it looks dangerous you be cautious
Am i right or am i right?
my plan is this: dont
"When seamonsters are hunting you, you don't hide. You hunt the seamonsters" - that one funny person
- that one guy with too much time on their hands
the second one
Nah thats marguerit's job
she literally just makes ||s a l a d||
She is rude but she is also fearless when it comes to leviathans
Anyways imma go now
Imma go hunt for some creature eggs for my alien containment
she killed a reaper right?
Yeah.
And a chelicerate
imo her main redeeming quality is that she ||made a bomb and weaponized a seatruck||
Prawn suit not seatruck
Well... it's believed she killed one. Presumably a juvenile one because of the size of the mandible on her exosuit.
Seatruck too.
Yeah
Then where is her seatruck? I aint seen it
But she likely scapped the seatruck afterward considering the boosters on the prawn suit
It's mentioned in an alterra PDA that ||it's possible that a modified seatruck destroyed omega lab|| and in one in ||her greenhouse|| that ||she was talking to sam about how sam needed to destroy omega lab, but then said she(marg) would do it for her||
Question is would you steal her prawn suit even if it meant she would try to kill you the entire game
How would she kill me???
I would have a weaponized chelicerate arm
But would you always be in the prawn suit though?
margeurit watches you
How would you get food if your inside the prawn suit at all times
Well, no
Theres your answer she would have her chances
Well robin aint really the murderer type
well that would depend on how quick robin is
if marg could take out a power cell or two then the prawn would be useless
Marguerit sure is the murderous type though
fairly certain she mentions ||that she's getting too old|| so killing her wouldn't be that hard in the scenario robin and her fight to the death
Oh and also this is subnautica inventory in a nutshell imagine you pick up a peeper where the heck do you store it? if it was irl you would be swimming around with a fish in your pocket
Ok imma go i really wanna go hunt for some creature eggs my alien containment is empty rn
Bye
||do you know where the golden trivavle eggs are?||
||deep lilypads somewhere, I think||
||underneath the floating island in the mushroom place||
i was asking void if he knew where they were and had them or not
oh, I should probably read context more, mb
sorry guys but what are reproduction steps
Where can i find habitat builder?
||delta base on a table right beside the bases, or next to a tube in the deep twisty bridges||
What can i do with thermos? (No spoilers btw)
it goes in the coffee machine
Cool
You put it in a coffee machine, it restores warmth. Strangely, it decreases hydration.
nut berries or whatever they're called are also cool
they dont rot and they give back 100 body heat

Basically early game version of ||salad||
yes
Is there any use of ||nickel|| besides ||depth modules||?
i think its used in a couple upgrades but im not that far in the game yet
Pretty sure it exists so that you take longer to beat the game..
i hate subnautica
Same. It stole my can of barbecue pringles.
what subnautica do you have?
The one that steals barbecue pringles.
mine just steals my time
You got Subnautica: Barbecue Pringle Thief Edition.
Where can I find Diamond
deep twisty bridges has a lot, and there are oxygen plants
Ok thanks
you'll need the rebreather. search twisty bridges at ||170m depth, by a little crane||
It seems a lot of people come here and say 'where's diamonds'
I mean, I did that too
We probably all had to look for a while, it's not really obvious
I triple-dog-dare someone to make a Randomizer option
Heyo people
Whassup
Just getting some stuff to build my base, how's everyone else doing in BZ?
I'm doing well, got my main base powered by a couple purple vents now
Thermal is the way to go
Okay offtopic : i feel like im one of the few who equally loves BZ and OG-Subnautica
People seem to really disliked BZ
Honestly, i think BZ's fantastic as the first game
OG is more magical in my head. But I rather play BZ
I actually like both titles as well, my hours count is about equal
I think Subnautica is more in line with more horror and fear and Below zero leans more on story and exploration
They're like 2 different flavors of the same cake, but like both are still delicious to me
Well said, and don't forget, the 2.0 updates will be icing
Wait, Subnautica is still getting updated?
Okay aside from like patch updates and bug fixes, like actual content updates?
Version 2.0 happening ... "Soon"
Niice
I find the map depth and where you need to go weird, and there are like 4 different story lines
That's good for me, I kinda like one story better imo
BZ'S story imo, is good but really could've been better
Sam's story is like, the structure is there but like it has so many plotholes that i don't want to write a 5 paragraph as to why
Marg is just...there?? Like hey girl wassup? Wanna get out of this place or not?
Alan's really cool tho, love the interaction between him and Robin tho, they cute
Maugarite has a cute pet
the marg and sam interaction feels thrown in
Preston right? Is Marg's snow stalker name right?
Yes
yes
Cute
what are all the yellow bars under each module of my sea truck
Health.
health
Health
Theres a health bar?
No. It's all a mirage.
Im more scared of the Chelicerate than the Shadow leviathan
But the Reaper leviathan still absolutely traumatizes me, so reaper is the absolute king
If a chelacerite can launch a Cryptosuchus this far surely the same should go for a seatruck and player
🦐
Honestly the scariest part of basing in the crystal caves is that a chelicerate lives close to the path inbetween my bases
Maybe I should change that..
How do you have a base there with the shadow leviathan
Well I used to just avoid is since fauna ignores habitats
but earlier I got in my prawn suit and drilled it's face in half
Planning on doing so with the other one as well.
Is there only 2?
Well there are four total
Oh wow no respawn
but the other two won't bother me for a little while
Yeah, hoping the same goes for chelicerates
Leviathans are no longer apex predators
Once i get the seatruck perimeter defense then yea, it's just...oh hi, go away pls
There's one in ||marg's base|| that you can get really early and easily
I thought that was the only way to get it
dude the red sea monster scares the hell out of me...
it floats around the purple vent area and it's so scary and loud
I remember accidently entering the void by following an ice berg, and just seeing that 4 mandibled boiz screeching and rushing towards me is just soul leaving
go to delta island and then head left
that way you can just go around it and still get tons of lithium or whatever else you need from there
chelicerates are genuinely harder to kill than shadows 💀
It's got so much open space that when it runs it can potentially take me into a dangerous biome
Me just looking for lithium, hearing Cryptosuchus roars :- me : ugh, pls shut up
Hearing an ear piercing screech, completely new, me :
and their smaller size makes it harder to avoid their jaws
Really a big let down, they're basically cryptos if cryptos were leviathans
Running from the Ice worm was super scary and fun :p
The prawn grapple arm is so broken on land
I almost felt bad for the ice worms
prawn suit in BZ is so much better than subnautica prawn
I need to try that
however the grapple arm is a little different
Honestly ice worms are the only genuinely dangerous creatures if you ain’t using something like that
i need to get that
im 1/2 on the fragments but couldnt find the last one
im going to need to go back some time
It's so broken, ||if you grapple onto a spire you move extremely fast(like faster than snowfox boost) for some reason, and can jump and quickly go back to the spire||
i hope i dont experience this. iw ill avoid ice bergs
Ice bergs aren’t inherently dangerous but a lot of them are right near the void ||probably because they contain insane loot and they want you to find them later on||
Avoid going to far south (||tree spires and lilypads||) or too far east (||east arctic||)
is there a rear view mirror for the sea truck
I wish.
Sadly not
Cyclops style camera system would've been amazing
Yo I just thought a scanner module would be super cool
It could add cameras to the sea truck too
like maybe 100 meters range (since its mobile) + cameras
Or maybe a upgrade
range upgrade could increase it by 25m per upgrade
Since there’s only 4 upgrades on the sea truck it would give you a reason to consider which one to use
There are 5 iirc
also guarantee nobody would use it if you had to use seatruck module slots or be forced to have tiny range and low scan speed
What ones? I know of after burner, extra speed for extra modules one, depth, and defense
Don't think I actually have all of them unlocked
but I remember there being 5
Nevermind, 4
I think horsepower stacks though
does it?
Not sure, but it doesn't say it doesn't stack
also, it would make sense, considering the seatruck is supposed to be able to pass for a mobile base
Pretty sure it does not
Nevermind yeah. I really need to get my knowledge on seatrucks checked
so scanning something you already learned will always reward 2 titanium?? i wish it was a random chance to get one of its components used to craft it.?
this needs updating. Should say 3 or more
You have full speed with 2 modules. Then speed starts dropping
The upgrade reduces the drop
pretty sure it keeps it's speed at cabin + module, but loses a bit after cabin + module + module
Does 2 modules include the cabin itself or 2 extra modules?
I still had my fun with BZ tho, new biomes, new threats, PRNGUINS, new story, ending's nicely wrapped, fantastic game, comparable to Subnautica 1, but did fumble a few places like the story and some of the areas being a little too cramped for my seatruck
Please do share.
Seriously my seatruck takes more damage by bumping into walls, than a leviathan
Truck speed. Upper graph is brief Afterburner speed
note full speed with 2 modules, and 96% speed with 3, if you have the HP upgrade
... okay. You can equip 20 modules?
does 2 modules include the cabin?
you can equip 40.
You can but should you?
The hell?
Bro that is just an expensive hallway I doubt it would even move
you dont even need a base at that point
it gets difficult to move with 20+
You could equip 80 theoretically, but at that point, just get a large room
Do modules increase power drain, or can I build a 500km long base running on 2 XL batteries?
I don't think it does. but the afterburner is very hungry
probably worth not losing a ton of materials to a chelicerate
I don't know if the HP upgrade uses power
such photo skills
Can the recycolotron recycle depleted nuclear rods for the glass, lead, and titanium?
no

That just made me think, if the front got bit, would the entire thing start shaking violently?
am i the only one who keeps bumping into fish in BZ more than OG-Subnautica?
I know it damages the cabin only
Don't give speedrunners new noclipping ideas
It would take too many materials to build something like that anyway
I wonder, can leviathans grab my seatruck if I'm not in the main cabin?
Will I be forced out, will I fall to the end of my truck and die?
Anyone else find leviathans to be much scarier while not freediving?
Usually if you’re freediving you aren’t getting super important stuff
If you are doing important things you’ll probably have a prawn or sea truck or something
Once you've built the Seatruck, you've won the game
so 10 minutes if you are quick, game over
You can find in 2 places, easier spot is in ||outpost zero||
which is where?
The map mark shaped like a zero
hidden under the ice, just east of where you first got in the water. By some ice fruit
how do i turn this off
shut off your scanner, or remove the HUD chip
It draws power while not scanning as well.
ive scanned the same fragment in the same place 3 times
very little
my prawn refused to attach to the docking port and then just fell off as soon as i started moving
still does, which is vastly annoying in lower depths
The control room actually shows power draw per room
just got grappling arm
Scanning costs 0.5 energy per time, idling 0.15
apparently BZ's getting a new base piece called "seatruck dock" nifty but like don't we have the moon pool already? lol
Seatruck dock allows you to keep the modules on as you dock @jovial stone
Saves the effort of taking off your modules and putting them back on after charging
that sounds nice yea
it's not life changing. It also repairs. We also get a new custom game mode
what kind?
custom. about 20 settings to play with
aggression as in, can leviathans see me from like 2 miles away from where i am?
more like chance of an attack. Can be 0
like anytime i get closer? if i set it up to max setting they attack much more frequently?
can't wait to abuse perimeter defense every 5 seconds lol
swim charge fins are so good
Aggression makes them aggressively feed you materials?
thought something was wrong with my game when i realized that my seaglide went up to 100% after 15 minutes of use
People keep complaining about how they don't charge the seaglide but they literally do
i only need the battery charger for scanner/repair tool now
Custom game options, shot from experimental
still good to have a bunch of fully charged batteries tho
this looks fun
Will my save work correctly in experimental, and if I change it back will it?
it will convert, but I don't think it converts back
Game makes a backup of your save folder though. Usable on steam
You can also convert your old save to Custom. Achievements will disable
Can you tell us what 'vegetarian diet' does?
You can't eat animals
So, if you eat a fish, you explode
no, thery aren't edible. I think the bladder fish is still craftable
but not for water. I think. Maybe.
Sorry, I'm imagining Robin just exploding now
Like the guy in jumanji when he ate cake
You can turn off o2 plants/fish. You can make your game really hard
So, let's say you start a 'survival' game, then change some of these settings, next time you start, will it still be called 'survival' or 'custom'?
it changes to custom. Many of these settings only work when starting a new game
mostly the spawn rates I think
Oh ok ... [I hope it's ok for us to hear this stuff tho]
yes, because it's public in experimental
Ah yes
Well I plan to try out all the new stuff, so ... I think the bug-bot may be getting some use sometime soon
Let's hope not, but still ...
Haven't had a chance to play anything for weeks
How do I even tell what I was doing in this? Lol
Newest recipe is spicy fruit salad lol
I'll give the after-greenhouse FAQ:
Note that you got a (very OP) salad recipe that you can grow indoors. ||The greenhouse finishes Marges storyline, but it ties into Sam's. Now you can scan stuff in marges kitchen and bathroom, and there's a PDA with her reaper story.
Go find and optionally cure the frozen leviathan. Phi map: the west tower. Find the PDA in the blue rubble of the explosion next to a buried forklift, with the audio||
if you hatch a glow whale egg in alien containment does it stay small?
Maybe small enough to stay in, but if you release, it growsss
whaaat! do they hang around the area you release them?
I've not tried with a glow whale, but generally, they do stay nearby
sweet thanks. gotta give that a shot
Not recommended for shallow areas, lol
of course 😛
Oh be glad the volume of their screams are what they are now.
They were so much louder.
- will animals go extinct if i pick too many of them up 2. where do i get the vehicle fabrication station fragements
fabrication station?
1 - Nope, 2- kelp forests, and caves under them
ok thanks
Without spoiling the ending or where to get it, could someone tell me if you get the parallel processing unit after meeting al-an at the warp gate or ate you supposed to get it beforethat?
before that, but it really doesn't matter as the storylines don't really intersect, but they're in the mercury II wrecks laser cutter required
You can really get it any time.
Aw bummer, I didn't want to know where to get the processing unit lol. Oh well
yeah, but then you get op food
yup, got a fridge full of those
hm, does the fridge even do anything or is it a decorative storage component?
slows things from spoiling
interesting
I just put excess food(I live off of Preston Delight, Fruit Salad and what was their name again, Fever Peppers?) into bioreactors
fevered peppers are amazing for bio reactors, get two per reactor and you're golden
and then like 4 more for salads
I have 5 fevered pepper plants, like 12 preston plants and a lantern tree
also quick question, is discussing experimental here fair game?
One thing I’d quite like to see: a docking port base component for Seatruck modules.
yeah, also @south hedge thats coming in 2.0 and is in the experimental branch rn
yeah, I can't use it since my sea truck seems to glitch with it
Oh, nice. A bit annoying having to disassemble the train so I can get at the back door of the storage module, and then swim out to it every time I need to get something from it.
yeah the docking bay opens it up, so you can either pilot your sea truck or just go through the modules
so does the repair tool just magically produce batteries?
mayhaps
Wdym
Oh cause it doesn’t have battery in the recipe I’m guessing?
Guess that makes up for all the things that do have a battery in the recipe but somehow run forever?
yeah it comes out with a battery
Yeah I haven’t made a repair tool in a while
Is the propulsion cannon required to get the processing unit or can you go through a vent to get it?
The Mercury II broke into more than one piece on landing.
So you're saying there are more than one processing units available?
(But no, you don’t require the propulsion cannon. I don’t think I’ve even found all the pieces for that yet…)
if you played the original subnautica, treat mercury like Aurora
Wear a radiation suit and approach with caution? 🙂
also is there anything i can do with diamonds i have over 60 which is too much, i played the original subnautica twice and below zero once and i had this issue for each playthrough i dont remember anything interesting i could make from them
fair enough, I meant more like "unlocking" wise
just without the repair tool
I don't remember anything special about the ship unlocking wise other than cutting open doors with laser cutters
Build an observatory.
or two
plus a bunch of multipurpose and large room glass domes
per base
thanks
I find it kinda weird, if you recycle an aerogel, you can plant the gel sack's spores and they grow, like it's just as natural as can be
best biome for rubies?
do i have to go to the second part of mercury to get the parallel processing unit?
there are multiple per part iirc, but I went to every single one and got 1 out of them
i have 2/3 and ii think ive explored the entire ship beside delta, idk this place is a maze
i remember that i went threw the vents on my first playthrough now idk where those vents are
Beacons
?
I have started Below Zero
I haven't left the shallows and the closest I've progressed is getting the SeaGlide
The biggest part of the ship is has three parts you can scan
You just need a laser cutter. You see looking for big rectangular power panel boxes
It's visially more stunning than the first game, but there's a teeny bit of hand holding. Is there a way to disable tutorials?
There is one in the control room in the desk right about where a sitting persons knees would be. You might be missing that one
The game kinda feels guided throughout
What o.O. the game is basically silent for 50% of the playthrough.
50% is still not enough
There’s still exploration as a good chunk of it but you have a lot of signals and are told some places you need to go
If you get close to most places that have use in the progression you are told that something is nearby
I mean, the first one, you're basically thrown in with no choice, and you have to make your own resources, in Below Zero, you have some resources and you're eased into the planet. It's been charted and populated already, and the place is a lot less hostile than how it felt in the first game
There were times I got so bored and almost stopped playing because I was like "ok, I've passed this same biome for the 19th time and there are no hints on what to do next. I guess ill pass it by agai "
If you just explore all the caves then you will eventually find something
Yeah, the first game basically says "There's something to be worried about here. Be careful."
AL-AN tends to tell you what to do
Shhhh
Yeah I skipped over the sos cave and I didn't think you could enter the m2 ship. So for the longest time I just kept swimming around
Samuel Hayden being exposition dump and the "You can't do this!" so you can do it any way type beat
I got to the fabrication facility before I had gotten any parts
Welp, I'm excited to see how it goes any way
Obviously i couldn't do anything there
honestly, I skipped it because I was like "SOS? Where? PDA didn't update any location..." since I was swimming on the surface
It’s still a good game and I don’t mind those factors
and I was like "AL-AN? what that?" when my friend told me that I'm dumb
yeah, I still don't get where the hate towards BZ comes from, it's a great game
Partly nostalgia and the fact that Bz is considerably easier in terms of dangers
The leviathans are pointless once you get perimeter defense
At least in the original you can’t really use perimeter defense in alz since sea moth doesn’t go that deep
I thought it was called lava lakes, not alz?
I still like them both and at least until subnautica 2.0 comes out I will keep playing BZ for the sake of base building with the new stuff
I think lava lakes is the big lakes near the structure
Alz refers to that area as a whole
Active lava zone
I'd keep playing BZ since I like it's visuals and soundscape
huh... kind of a lie there but fair enough
In the fiery red areas is the active lava zone
That’s the actual active volcano crater but
wasn't the top one inactive lava zone, and the bottom lava lakes?
Honestly I get my biomes mixed up all the time
god I didn't play subnautica for a long while
I still can’t freaking differentiate mountains and dunes tbh
I'm one of those "I don't need beacons unless I'm marking a base/special spot" guys
I just somehow just know where everything is
I know where stuff is but biome names and stuff confuses me a lot
Yeah I have loved both games. I really didn't care for the machines voice though. It's tone kept trying to put me to sleep
Humans are controlled by music
not everything is about control, Alan
but for one thing he's right, humans are VERY inefficient
"That's the beauty of perfection, CLU! It's beautiful because it's unknowable!"
can i get a clue to where the afterburner upgrade is?
look for nests underneath flat forests
^kind of a riddle here
i know what your thinkin... i have been down there in the kelp forest and the one by marguerites house
wrong forest
meant something else
hmmm thanks
can shadow leviathans attack a sea truck while it's not piloted?
this is a toughy, i am assuming its a kelp forest or a cluster of similar things, could it be the arctic?
if you need the direct biome, let me know, this one is a weird one
i know there is huge forests east of delta im just gonna explore there if i dont find anything then ill figure it out
alr
god, I'm in love with below zero's soundtrack, I just feel like it's so special
help i cant scan the ||architect skelly||
my prawn stuck help
don't mind them. They're most likely a troll
where do I find mobile vehicle bay fragments
Kelp Forests and Twisty Bridges
Finished Subnautica, then took a few months break. Finished Below Zero, then again a second time. Few months break. Finished Subnautica again.
Then played Raft. Good but the recent episodes were not the same game I loved. Now playing Red Dead Redemption 2 but it's kind of boring - thinking of starting SBZ again.
Moral of the story: I want a new Subnautica game. 🙂
I think we all do 🙂
How do I use themos
You can put 1 or 2 of them in a coffee machine, then retrieve when it's done
oh thank you
Coffee is a little dehydrating tho, the fever peppers would be better long term
or fruit salads
Yes, the salads are the ultimate, they don't even go stale
anything i should worry about other than ||ice worms|| past ||the bridge?||
freezing
You shouldn't worry about anything with the prawn suit.
But if you are walking, the snowstalkers are annoying too.
Maybe -- terrain clipping
if i stick to the high ground nothing can hurt me
its just a matter of finding it
i found the aurora in BZ guys
turns out it was here all along
Sector Zero has 100% more weather than around the crater
yes
actually infinite % more
if i dont enter the areas where you can get attacked by ice worms, i cant be attacked
better get my repair tool ready
well good luck, as they are invisible, and you must go north-east. There's other things too. Green cubes. Secret eggs
There IS a path with no encounters. Extreme right side of the spires map
i was going there
you will end up in the bone yard. Go west from there
got scared because there was a big open area so headed back and took the middle
Aurora borealis?
At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the planet, localized entirely within your biome?
indeed
May I see it?
there's... a picture. Also it's not rare over the sea
I just wanted to do the joke lol
just saw an ice worm out of the corner of my eye
now i cant really remember to go
i think i just stick to the right
What do I do after visiting ||Marguerit Maida's base||?
and what is the best place to search for Seatruck modules fragments?
there is fabricator and something else down in the area below the tiwsty bridges
there is docking module in ||deep purple vents||
fab and storage, below 300m in twisty
thanks
i think there are a couple more but i dont know where they are
Maida literally told you what to do. Shut down the tower. By the tower there's a PDA and other clues. Frags to scan ||in the wrecks.||
but I need a thing I can't craft
oh, don't miss a truck module on her floor
where do I find the blueprint?
perimeter defence yeah I took it
good. it's manual fire, not a passive thing
I played sn I know how it works
Does anyone know how much Dps the Prawn Suit Drill Arm and the normal Arm have?
some people on SN: "Nice to have, but I don't know if it does anything"
the punch does more damage per second.
enough to take out a cryptosuchus with 3 hits of the hand and continual drilling
ok
I use those all the time when I sneeze.
lol
well that went much better than expected
turns out the worms cant attack you if you go fast
||how do i get stalker fur?||
ok
probably going to bring the spy pengling around the basin today so i can get some fur
You need a total of 4, and the pengi-bot can carry 4 ... convenient
If you leave Phi Robotics Center, head south, there will be a Stalker, go by him, and up a little incline to your left. Follow that path and do down by the the little ponds - one to the left and one to the right of you. After you go by them, go up a little incline, and the will be a cave to your left. There will be a Mother Stalker in there with a few Stalker cubs. There will be stalker fur on the ground. Bring a health kit, because Mom Stalker will attack you. She does about 25% of your health.
Safer to send the pengi-bot, but ... if you feel adventurous
heh, true. 🙂
There is a very nice map interactive map that show all PDA, Data boxes, Alien structures, and a lot more information at:|| https://mapgenie.io/subnautica-below-zero/maps/world|| SPOILERS EVERYTHING. Don't look if you find everything on your own.
I have already decided, when the next title comes along, I want to go in without any info at all, so I get the full experience
Yep, I agree
When the game first came out, I did not use any spoilers. Finished the game on my own. After speedrunning Below Zero, I needed the map to find the shortest routes to go.
Also if you take flares, snow dogs don’t attack
I'm the opposite of a speed runner, I like to poke around in all the corners, lol
Yes, that is true!
To reach the fabrication caverns do I go thru crystal caves
Yep, down & eastward
Because I the first time I went down there was to get kyanite but I only got the 3 for organs so I am gonna bring the rest of the resources down, get 2 kyanite and craft the upgrade
For the first 6 months I had the game, I built a lot of bases and found most everything. After the 1 or 2 times finishing the game, it takes the "am I going to die soon" out of the game. lol.
What is in the glacier? I don't know if I found everything
If you mean everything (Including the Glacial Basin, Glacial Bay, Glacial Connection, and the Arctic Spires) there is the ||Frolo, Phi Robotics, A few Spy Pengling Sites here and there, A few tech sites (One with the Jump Module for the Snowfox), the bridge in the Glacial Bay, the Architect Ion Cube Cache (The three large drillable nodes of Ion Cubes), the Arctic Spires Cache (The one with Al-An's Tissue Component), Some Alterra Tech Sites (One with the Ice Worm Attack Reduction Module for the Snowfox), that one dead ice worm you can scan, there's that primary teleporter. And there's that one architect installation in the Glacial Connection.|| And that's about all I could remember.
thank you
Guysbi need big help, what direction do I go from crystal cache to leave the crystal caves?? I've been stuck down here 30 minutes
Do I find the 2nd fruit required for salad in ||greenhouse||?
Please help I wanna leave this god forsaken cave
up
I mean north east South west
honestly, don't know, only up and then follow the shadow until you find a exit
I have Preston fruit where can I find the second one
glacial basin I think, possibly delta but I don't think so
the fevered pepper
yep
Well I found it near the greenhouse
Fevered pepper in and around caves, Preston plant in greenhouse
can I find Bulkhead or Reinforcement in ||Omega Lab||?
I place beacons at the entrances to the ||purple crystal caves|| that way I can always find my way out
jerry
if you has got big down and over here is shadow leviathan you need go right and up
I believe both?
:()
ok thanks
no problem i finish subnautica below zero and normal subnautica
Bulkhead, yes. Reinforcement is default unlocked once you’ve made a habitat builder
oh ok I didn't see it
Sorry, this command is disabled. Please enable the command and retry.
I know what you mean, after becoming familiar with an area, it's alot less intimidating
Aww, Carl Bot is a widdle turtle
is bad turtle
How so?
how what escape hrystal biome
wut?
Can you rephrase your question
Sorry, not understanding your question
krab squid eat you in the night bay
Okay
where do i put all my eggs
If you want them to hatch, in alien containment, if not, a locker
do they do anything other than decoration
If they hatch, they are baby animals, they swim around and look cute
hmmm ok
What should I do after visiting ||Omega Lab||
Visit the other spots marked on the facility map
The First Sun - Die Peacefully song could easily be played at Tomorrowland, Subnautica Team
lol the fins that charge your tools is so weird
Do my plants have enough water?
funny you posted that. my base also drowned at the same time yours did.
bladderfish are too easy to see and lead is way too common.
below zero has been saving for forever
You're playing on PC, but you use the stable release?
idk i just bought it
Did the terrain or fish disappear? Before the game started saving forever?
no, they need more
if you haven't messed around with the insider hub/properties in steam then you should be on the stable build
how can i get rid of certain terrain. like a big root tree thing.
Sadly they don’t go away when building😔
Steam?
You probably use the stable version though.
so if im obstructed i need to move my base??
i just put qmod in the folders but it doesnt even work so i guess
It's unlikely that the game will finish saving.
yeahh.. so just go back to my last one?
i gotta say, subnautica is miles better than this even animation wise bz just doesnt compete imo
Which Alterra outpost should I visit after ||Omega||
really...?
arent they the same game basically
Everyone is different I guess. BZ just looks so much better imo
yeah i mean sort of, visually theyre pretty similar, but bz is more vibrant
i like SN more
same MUCH more
BZ looks better tho I prefer subnautica (Although I will make my opinion after I finish the game)
BZ requires quite a lot more from the gpu for basically the same graphics
its unlikely ill play bz a second time, i just dont get bored of the og subnautica
i get better performance
max graphics and i sit around 140 stable
I like them both, because they’re both great games, for many different reasons.
might be that my gpu is 5 years out of date but i get around 20-40 in BZ and 60 for SN
i got a 6500 xt and i run them both perfectly lol
although the 6500 is new
lol
I guess I'll go to ||Koppa mining site||
i wanna play subnautica more rn amazing..
probably going to wait until 4060 is released and get that if the price tag isnt the same as the current real estate prices
even tho ive fi nished it like 3 times
if i put my mind to i can probably beat subnautica in 10 hours
which is a good time for me
the least ive done is 16 hours on PC, on console it was like a day or something
ive got 19 hours on BZ i think
i can beat the game today but i want to unlock everything first
thats me but for SN
the shadow leviathan just makes me freeze on the spot and stop playing the game
i try to keep out of the sand dunes cus that biome is the scariest place in the subnautica franchise
just freaky
shadow leviathan is one of the 2 reaper knockoffs
its the scariest leviathan for me
i was scared of the chelicerates but then i got the perimeter defense module and i dont really care anymore
i understand but that never rly scared me it just looks goofy
they are a little weird
yeah but goddamn are they annoying when they hit u
guys im in the deep twisty bridges my base keeps getting flooded
yeah same my base is getting absolutely screwed.
im not even deep. im at the top of twisty bridges... the base building is really clunky if you arent building on flat terrain
in the og subnautica I had the same issue, I think it had something to do with an enemy being nearby it and hitting the base instead of the target?
never had such an issue, even when i played through the whole game on BZ and SN
do brute sharks respawn?
in subnautica it happened rarely
Pretty sure they do
most often it was gasopod's awful pathfinding
is anyone else disappointed that the charge flippers make batteries like useless
eh, I feel like ribbon plants are annoying to grow
and I always seem to keep running out of copper
i just wanna get done with bz and go back to my SN hardcore world
where do you even findd the ribbon plants
Twisty bridges mainly
twisty bridges it seems
first time I saw ribbon plants "well that's a weird way to say acid mushrooms"
does anyone have advice on how to most efficiently move my entire base over....
Build a new one
because apparently the stupid foundations are on their own quadrants and cannot be put on half-quadrants... but bases can be built on half quadrants.
so i have a base that i can never fit a foundation squarely under.
and my hull keeps flooding as a result of poor integrity
what is the most efficient way of moving all the material. sea truck storage units?
Ah
Probably yes
ok... time to waste an hour moving bases.
I have my holiday decoration up early
I finished BZ in 38 min 42 sec. 😉 Of course that is speed running it.
You probably need bulkheads
Now that you played in the least time, you should try playing the most time
am i supposed to build foundations under my bridges or under my hulls?
what provides the most structural support
all the structures have long steel legs so i dont even understand why i need to build foundations.
Foundations, bulkheads, and reinforcements all add to structural integrity, which is needed when building deep ... Try to keep it a positive number to prevent floods
when the base floods you gotta repair it from the inside
for some reason my base just doesnt want to build legs....
I am only 4th fastest...Reski did it 36m 36s. That is with glitchless (no cheating the game). With cheating the game (going out of bounds, propulsion cannon/booster tank combo, ghost storage, ect.) the WR is 24m 23s. I have over 994 hours playing BZ, so does that count for playing the game a lot?
😉
They don't really need legs, they're carefully calibrated to be neutrally bouyant in the oceans of that planet
You would have a good rank in my book
then why is my base always flooding.. it seems structurally fine but it's not.
Are you near gyser?
what gyser
In Purple Vents
Those will flood your bank
im right between the twisty bridges and stalagmite biomes
It could have a not high enough integrity for its depth, or could be near something that's actively damaging it, like those exploding purple vents
im failing to understand how to increase the integrity. i assumed it was the legs touching the ocean floor, but it doesnt seem to be. when my base gets too big it just floods.
im only trying to make a moonpool, control room, and large room connected by a few bridges.
Yep, vents in Thermal Geysers do the same thing.
Here's a couple methods to try - build an I section between each larger room, with a bulkhead installed, add reinforcements to the larger rooms ... these 2 things will help greatly
Ok, if the base is to big, you need bulkheads.
bulkheads separate rooms?
I think you can get them in Omega Lab, or even Outpost Zero.
Like put an I section between larger rooms, add a bulkhead in it
i think i get it. okay i think this advice helps--foundations aren't enough, I need bulkheads and reinforced walls.
Just a couple reinforcements in each larger room will help alot, and lithium is plentiful toward the purple vent area
does keeping the bulkhead door open even matter
Does not matter. Can leave them open.
OMG i didn't notice this, if you stand still in BZ, your temperature gauge also goes down, so not only can you drown but can also get hypothermia if you don't move an inch :p
This is true in cold water, but in the warmer spots, it won't happen
the area around my base has always blue water so guess that's cold water
what goes into the water filter system
You mean to build it?
no what do i put inside of it
Seawater, and electrons
And you'll get bottles of water, and salts
how do i feed it seawater? its already on my wall
is it working rn?
It has an intake on the outside, it pulls in water on its own
If you can see bubbles in the glass tanks, it's running
the salad is OP oml
Yea Verily
"im about to die of hypothermia" eats salad much better
And the salad never goes stale, either
once you have that salad, you're basically OP lol
No wonder ||Marg|| is so tough, she has the salad power
she goddamn ripped off a chelicerate's mandible, manage to one hand kill a reaper while swimming down the void, this woman can't die oml
If she had a mustache, she'd be Omni-man
Fr
where do you recommend to relocate my base
Did you see the pic I posted a while ago? It's my favorite spot
I'm afraid not
Just off the east coast of delta island, a nice flat spot with central location, thermal vents for power, lots of minerals nearby
is it possible to scan the void chelly without getting panic attacks?
Fabricator Caverns, the best biome
If you do it while standing in a safe spot
does the void chelly get a seperate entry?
No idea
where do you get the scan for the large rectangle room. like the one that chick with the prawn suit has
i scanned the ceiling of that room, but didn't get the room. not sure if i could have scanned it at her base or not
you should be able to scan the large room
I usually scan the one at ||phi robotics||
Also at ||outpost zero||
wish the chellies and squid sharks swap, squid sharks are actually frickin' scary while chellies are just shrimps 🦐
The worst one for me is the ||shadow|| cuz you have to go through there
im just more annoyed by the shadows than actually scared of them, they constantly persue and i already have the sea truck tazer, it's just like "get off me"
Yea, the zapper is really good to have when going through there
yeah I got constant jumpscares when I was searching for ||Seatruck modules||
i have ion power cells, and just unlimited power
marguerites greenhouse is a pain to find any tips?
it's 1150m east of the beacon, but also south a tiny bit
i wish idk where to unlock them
thanks meatie
Search at night, her ice berg has light sticks on the coast
just scan alot of architect ruins and you'll get em
I scanned 3 already
scan more
Doesn't he like not give you locations for the caches? I thought you find then yourself
Or maybe he gives u 1 cache and then u find the rest
he gives for the artifacts
I hated that one so much
this game has a lot less guidance than the previous imo
ironic since ALAN is pointing you stuff
This game hand holds you what you on about
I think i didn't have that one
I had thing that scans water, rock robot and statue
just sayin' get the perimeter defense back at Marg's base, you're basically immune to leviathans now
im at a point where i havent gotten any calls or anything for 45 minutes
wait its at margs base!?!
yes
thanks
how do i put eggs in the alien container, i cant even interact with th ething
its actually pretty well hidden lol
oh I didn't have much problem with it
build a hatch on it.
hatch and drop them there
Guys
I visited ||Omega and Koppa facilities|| which facility should I go to now and should I make depth module mk2 or prawn first
i cant put my big 2x2 creature egg in there???
prawn uses a lot of power also be sure you get the jump jet and the grapple hook arm
wait do i just drop the egg in there or do i use the planter
where grapple
drop
planter is for plants. drop
and I couldn't scan drill arm on site
i know there is some about 650m e/se of delta beacon, also there is some in the huge mining spot near delta too
i could be wrong
Is it just me or did anyone else go out of their way to make sure that every hostile leviathan dies
lol man some of the songs that have singers are just.... so bad lol
i thought they cool
this is insan
