At first I made it so that I don't have to have a tablet... the base goes through inside the building so I can just get in and out as I please. Then I realized how amazing this base actually is considering all the teleports spots in the map lol
To be honest with you, my prawn suit and cyclops did all of the resource work. So it didn't really take me that long. I have a scanner room there, so whatever resources I needed, I used the scan room, and I would head there with my prawn to just collect everything I needed.

the titanium spawns would be closer to the cove tree for me... and yeah, I have a TON of storage inside my cyclops so I would make trips in and out of there with my prawn. Once the cyclops is full, I would head back to base and start building

Grand reef is fun, you just have to be careful about the upstairs neighbor (ghosty) and you're pretty safe. The crabsquids stay in the deep grand reef, so it's actually fairly safe up top

Sea Treader's Path is like the grand reef but safer and a little farther away. If thats a worthy trade off, you could do that.

+1 for the Path. There's a shelf on the north side of the giant cave leading down to the blood kelp trench that's the perfect spot for a safe base location. You have immediate access to 3 biomes, with 2 others very close.

Well mods were used in some areas the game goes a bit overboard with restricting base part locations So i used build tweaks for some of the observatories because the game thought they were a bit too close to the crystal but thats abut it

One thing i dont like about BZ is that in the original game you could pick up alot of sciency equipment left in the abandoned bases and use it to decorate but those items in BZ are not only unable to be interacted with but you cant even scan them to build your own microscopes and beakers ..
otherwise the interior of that would look more like a lab

you could probibally brute force past alot of performance and quality issues in this game if it was possible to compile it in native X64

In progress, the top multipurpose room on the front is a bioreactor which I power with gel sacks, there is a heat area right outside so I can come back from trips and charge my cyclops right outside.
Also the bioreactor is assisted by about 6 thermal reactors

If there would be an Atlas sub in the game, the problem would be that it’s simply too big to reach important locations of the game, including the end game location
You probably couldn’t even get it to the lost river. I know only 1 entrance, dunno how big the other one is, but the one I used was just big enough for a cyclopse

It starts closer to 700. It's at the southeastern edge of the ghost forest, and this brine fall leads down into the junction; the central chamber where the dragon skeleton is.

for sub a good location is underwater islands or the nearest kelp forest to the aurora in the intersection between sparse reef, grand reef, grassy plateau and kelp forest.
for bz: probably between mercury stern and tree spires because there are lots of titanium or adobe the lilypads for a land base

nuclear powered based with a backup thermal generator for when i leave it for long extended periods of time.
two alien containment tanks, the first as a food source, the second as a spawning pool for fishes.
a decked out moonpool for various storages.
the main feature is the off set large rooms which can both be roofed with glass. the lower deck beneath the upper large room is a lab for egg studies and has a sneaky little control room tucked away.
next steps will be farming more quartz for more glass and a couple of observatories
