So I’m doing a hardcore/modded play through of Subnautica. My 3rd time through and I’m trying to squeeze as much fun out of it as I can since much of the mystery is gone. I figured I’d kinda do a bit of role play and build a base in each of the 5 biomes that have the enzyme ingredients. I could easily speed run to the end with just the cyclops and maybe a cove tree outpost, but I don’t thank that would be as much fun.

So, anyone have suggestions on specific locations in some of the biomes? In past runs I’ve set up a thermal base near the lifepod in the bulb zone with all the zappy boys. I’ve also made a base near the crater at the border between the dunes and the mushroom forest on the west side. Real close to the lost river entrance right by the cove tree

i started with mostly foundations until i discovered how much better reinforcements were, the "back" of my creature containment towers has a bunch of them, and some of the other MPRs also have reinforcements where a window would otherwise face a cave wall or the interior of the base

my base is either
a) one foundation with grow-beds and two corridors lined with storage and coffee machines
b) cyclops with fabricator, mod station, a little storage (i use the lower deck built-in storage mostly) 1 or 2 interior grow beds, maybe a normal player bed if i feel like it, some plant pots (2-4), and coffee machines (2-6)

usually i use the two corridor base until i have a cyclops, then i take the corridor base down and use the cyclops.

its always worked pretty well for me

ive never had problems with the cyclops getting destroyed, and there is aways an accurate HUD marker for it. plus the mobile moonpool is really nice

@primal garnet yep! I have a ladder that goes from sea level to 500 for a nice view of the Aurora. Then from 500 to the very top 🙂 Takes roughly 8 seconds to get up accounting for lag. Takes 1 minute and 10 seconds to jump down.
