Yep, I just add them one at a time with the tool and then the selector to pick the smallest setting. I start with a room the. Add pieces rather than removing them, seems smoother.

that is how it used to be for me in first subnautica, made one locker for each type of ore, might do that in subnautica 2 aswell

Me personally. I love whats there, and I'm sure I've still missed things, even with three playthroughs so far. First playthrough was solo, then I hopped in with others via the lfg in this discord. That's being said. It will be here in perpetuity so you don't have to rush out of FOMO, you just might see spoilers before you do get the game in that case

I’m partial to the hot zone. Obviously you wanna pick somewhere far away from the marrowbreaches & nibblers but there’s so many good vistas with the vents. Aaaaand heat is easy, consistent base power.

*I had mine set up so one window looked over the red biome & the other looked over the blue ocean. It was fun juxtaposition.

Nothing outright confirmed for later EAs, but I suspect there will be a couple more options. The devs mentioned a more faithful multipurpose room, but I don’t know if they’ll add the specific shape you seek

Yeah I figured there'd be expansion of the building options as the game progresses through EA, and by all means it's no deal breaker for me, I just have a very specific vision in mind and was hoping there might be plans that would eventually help me realise it. And yeah admittedly with the way the semi freeform building system works I can imagine rotating external walls to create more diverse shapes would be a challenging adaptation to the existing building system.

I have seen this bug with several buildables. Based on what I read, the object thinks there are ghost attachments, often happens when using the 'move' feature with the Habitat Builder.

I haven't found any good workarounds outside of basically deconstructing everything around it and seperating off the thing, then hoping the 'refund base' option shows up for new seperate base that is created

And I've started avoiding the 'move' option, but it could just be made up stuff I read online

My only advise is start with the moonpool room. And make it bigger than you think you need. And be ready to farm lots of Titanium and Quartz if you want to add all the fancy stuff

Earlier I was asking about a way to store chassis at base but now I just realized you could could have 2 tadpoles one for each chassis and just dock the one you aren't using but then kinda sounds like going against the way the tad pole was designed to have a bunch of different chassis to attach to in order to fulfill different roles.

several base pieces have alternate forms that you can swap between by hitting them with the habitat builder while the piece is selected, so if you select windows in hab builder and click corners, you can swap between curved and angled. Moonpool edges have an alternate form, archways have an alternate form, etc

hey, so im trying to do my own aquarium with the grow beds, having my base surround it. im having trouble. I placed my base first and was hoping to figure out a way to add them to it but idk if i can, got any tips? As for the roof decorations, one data capsule is located in a small passage at the bottom of the cave, probably next to the entrance to the area where the key to the tadpole dock is found, the other two capsules were scattered almost randomly across the hot biome, one was on a large plant in a cave containing lithium, and the other was inside some kind of gray tube.

wait for a little bit until you get further into the story to build a main base but the hot area is an alright choice. I would wait a little bit as there are better choices once you unlock that part of the story.

I really like the giant crabs in this game, so I've decided to make some sort of observatory on them. There's also a hammerhead that keeps waking the crabs up, so it's also a good source for resources when they dig from time to time :p This location is at the Quaker's meeting house bunker, if someone wanted to build here aswell.

Ok so I ended up refunding my entire base and losing hours of progress and guess what? I CANT BUILD THERE ANYMORE its just red and now I have to completely move. I LOVE this game

That's why I haven't used the refund base option, too afraid of it messing everything up. I'm gonna try it when I have everything out of it and it's just the structural base there. I'm still scared tho lol. Definitely make a bug report about it. They want more feedback on base buildings

As long as it's disconnected from the main base it will be considered a second base. It can be right beside each other. When you hit refund base, you can choose which base you want to refund.

It also gives you the view which base option as well. Just make a save before you refund

step 2, on the 3rd floor put a moonpool in the middle, this will fill that hollow area with water
step 3, add a growbed and some plants
step 4, grab some fish and drop them inside

You could prolly cut the half round room out from your base, just so there's at least a 1x1 gap, so that the half round room counts as a whole new base. Then I think you could just refund the base (the half round room). At least that's what worked for me.

when I tried to split my base into 2 buildings + a bridge over them, nothing worked, I narrowed the base to the minimum corridor distance and still did not have access to the removal. I had to demolish the entire base and rebuild it twice..

I think you need to deconstruct the cornes on the left and right of that room, cuz that room as standard has a bit space behind the glass and you widened that area

This is a known issue that we do have a fix for coming in a hotfix soonish (not exactly sure when). It is likely that once the fix lands you will be able to edit your base again

I had a similar issue like this but it was with the half circle build piece...nothing at all attached or obstructed but couldn't delete it. I saved the game, loaded it back up and only then was I able to delete the build piece, so might be worth giving that a try 🙂

I built a semi-automatic resource farm using coral crabs. I built a farm around one, and when the coral crabs get up, they seem to dig in the ground and find resources. Instead of on the ground, the resources appear in the room built in the direction you're looking. Sulfur and crab feces are the main sources, but quartz and copper are also occasionally found. It might not work perfectly, but I'm quite proud of it.
