Hi question about my base, whats the best generator for power? I’m currently running 2 thermals and i cant seem to climb past 250 even though the max power is 500. I’m currently in the beginning of the building process and doesnt even have a lot of things drawing power. The base itself, radio and fabricator (if those even use power while not being used), powercell and battery charger (no batteries being charged or in them) and a water filtration system. I have a moonpool already built but not connected yet its not getting power but when i do connect it how can i be sure ill have enough power?

Tldr are thermal generators too weak to power “big” bases? Which generator do i use instead? Could I even use thermal and nuclear for fast production rate and lots of it?

the leviathans follow ai paths and your base modules simply don't exist for them. if you build a big cage you can slightly encricle and adjust its ai pathing but if you cinch it too tight it 'll just clip through it

eventually yes he will return to that area. the cage yea probably disrupted his ai pathing algorithm and has moved temporarily to somewhere else. he will eventually come back whether you remove the cage or not. but the issue is the same thing could happen when he comes back. he could again clip through ur cage and just go somewhere else again. it's why its not recommended to capture leviathans

by the way one small thing

it may not spawn EXACTLY in that specific place anymore. the leviathans are tied to biomes and biome chunks. bc you displaced it when it eventually does rerender it's valid state it may spawn in a close place but not exact place

in that biome

but it my also spawn there again

that's upto the code and rng and its respawning calculations

which are randomised with constraints im pretty sure so impossible to tell exactly for each game save

Some are to watch the wildlife, some are because they are near key resources, etc. One that served me well was in the floating islands, untill i started going into the ancient river and deeper.

There's not necessarily a base design that is meta. It depends on your goals and resources available. You want a moonpool, some way to generate power, and a scanning room. Beyond that, it's up to you. Grow beds and an aquarium are helpful, decent storage, battery and power cell chargers, fabricator etc. Things to keep in mind while building is watching the integrity. Use bulkheads where you can, and compartmentalize, in case you do get a breach.

They don’t break it down but (iirc) bioreactor makes 15/second. if you have varying drains (water filter, etc) that pull power and other things like battery charger.

So not getting over 100 means your usage is balanced.

Bioreactor makes only 0.833_ per second.

Set up a base with 2 or 3 (a third if you want to get something else other than quartz) scanner rooms. You can watch and listen a lot better that way while also using one of the scanner rooms to locate quartz. You'll be just fine

if you're referring to the vibrance/intesity of the colors I use a third party software to boost my vibrance

I always buily my base at the border of 3 biomes: Shallows, Grassy and Kelp

To find the place go South-East from Lifepod 17 and you'll find a ramp that's going uo from the grassy plateous to shallows with a big wall in front

the Eastern Mushroom Forest/ Grassy Plateous is an amazing spot too
