Hmm, maybe make it a little more compact. I have a base that is made up of large rooms stacked on top of one another, and on the top I put my gardens and stuff cuz for me personally more compact is better then just spreading it out and wasting resources on multiple different rooms. That is if your just trying to be resourceful tho

try making a large room or your moonpool the center of your base, and branch out from there. exterior growbeds with creepvine and other glowey plants help improve the aesthetic as well; consider glass domes for your multipurpose rooms too

I'd recommend growing blood kelp, acid mushrooms, jell sacks and acid mushrooms at the minimum. Maybe creepiness clusters because they glow

These are the spores of those giant lilies that you only find in the deep sea. I found them at the bottom of the deep sea crevice near the lily pads. You need them for crafting, but I found out by chance that they glow brightly enough for decorative purposes.

No idea what it's officially called. It's also been a while since I played Below Zero. I just know that the easiest way to get there is through one of the large crevices near the lily pads.

Just pick one and swim down as far as you can. If you notice that everything is bathed in orange light, you're in the right place.

Domes on top of the rooms, move the curved glass hallways apart and put 2 straight glass corridors between them, add a longer corridor leading from the left side back out of the void for safer access and reinforcements.

Remember that unless you are using a specific mod, observatories count as their own biomes, so standing in one will make the ghosts retreat back into the distance.

You can watch videos and look through photos for inspiration. But honestly the best advice I can give is to just start experimenting. You can do it in creative so it's free, but trying out all the different buildables in various ways will help you better-understand your own preferences.

I saw that building and made this one COMPLETELY in survival. for the effort the FPS hit wasnt worth it

What's kinda demented is the interior of most of it is very decked out. it's an apartment complex. there's a 3 story penthouse on the very top. not seen is an elevator system in the back. there's 'elevator' ladders. one ladder is every even level, another is odd, a third is every 5 levels. the base is 4 nuclear power plants, there's several cafeteria, i furnished about 25 rooms as apartments with doors, grow walls. i stopped when i started planting stuff in the alien containments in each tower strategically placed to eventually give off good lighting.

this was before the new build pieces and as i'm getting back into subnaughtyica i'm thinking of doing a similiar tower w/ multipurpose rooms.

I don't know if it's factual to the game but i noticed that scrap metal would repopulate in kelp forests that i was sure i had cleared out. that and mining titanium nodes from the surface biomes for far too long.

One of many bases I have

I think that's the place I was thinking of

I remember I went kinda crazy with this base

It's located at the red dot in the map, at 100m of depth

In terms of efficiency, the only great thing with this spot is that you can get your cyclops easily from homebase to the north-lost river entrance, which was really useful

I've only got 69h on Steam, but I originally played a lot in Switch, both Subanutica and Below Zero, can't wait for Subnautica 2 :)))
