My entire lower thing is full of sorted storage. The vehicle bay is empty except for a prawn suit, I have my battery chargers and some lockers dedicated to stuff like advanced materials and everything I need to build a small temporary base in the back of the bottom floor. The top floor has a bed, growbeds, fabricator, mod station, like 5 med kit fabs, radio, a locker of prawn arms next to the vehicle console, etc.

I have that bottem area filled with those lockers, and then 6 wall lockers in the area where you enter, top level has mod station, growbed, two grow pots, a bed, fabricator, radio, and a locker for upgrades and creature decoys

Experimental seatruck dock looks good... Can you use the modules while it's docked? Cuz then you can set up a dock, power, maybe some food production and basically use the truck itself as your base.

I've been having a similar problem in BZ, I'm trying to build a small bunker in the Deep Twisty Bridges and the stupid Squidsharks keep attacking it and flooding it, which I'm totally not used to as I was under the impression that creatures couldn't damage bases

Correct. I don't want to get less back, but I think that's fair since the bases have been rusting/rotting for years, and otherwise you'd get all you need for a base for free.

Maybe they should make a restore feature, where you can restore certain sections for like half the cost of building them (so hallways one titanium, rooms 3, observatories one enameled and one titanium) and at the end it can turn into your base, however I think subnautica might be too old for that, maybe something they can do in the 3rd game

will deleting the cellscache folder re-generate all the resources in the game? I wouldn't want to cheat by suddenly giving myself a whole save's worth of resources all over again when it's getting hard to find them in large quantities

if it helps fix the lag I'm all for it, but so long as it doesn't mess with the current resources that are in the game in a physical way

Yeah it's going to reimplement it all,. but it is a small price to pay for the wonderful lag free experience. You can always use the trash can to delete stuff if you feel like you are cheating, 😜

The thing wont go after the seamoth. It doesnt actively hunt down seamoths. It just goes for sources of light/sound and your seamoth happens to give those off when your driving it.

Dome 2 floor 6

Most of the domes were fish farms one entire dome was water purifiers. Other domes are for r&r, research, and plant growing. 5 domes and 4 of the stories in each of those 5 are strictly storage.

4 domes were actually sub bays.

Had a seamoth for shallow and transport only one for deep dives a exosuit for drilling and transport and one for defense

All domes breached the surface and had glass roofs

In between i had massive foundation flooring with grow beds for every plant i needed seven gel sacks and oil kelp

I basically salvaged ALL scrap around the Aurora to build this base. Sure it took about 200 hours but this one save i have 1000+ in it.

Other smaller bases are one to four domes in other biomes to rest recharge and eat and drink and storage.

My cyclops has large containers lining the walls and small lockers inbetween with a yucca plant and marble melons. I have the deep dive, heat conversion, shield, and decoy upgrades. I always park my yellow cyclops on that thermal to recharge it.

My previous playthrough was 4 multipurpose rooms and 2 moonpools with a few foundations. A moon pool for both the seamoth and prawn (though only one had a console), and one multipurpose for storage, fabricators, mod station, chargers, etc. one for a bed, growbed, and water filter, one above that with a bioreactor and potted lantern plant to fuel it, and one with an alien containment.

For my new playthrough im planning on making a set of multiple small bases that are strategically placed near alien portals to provide easy access to the entire map without needing to travel multiple km back and forth

Im thinking one on each island then one a bit further into the grand reef over by the sea treader place and one in the floating islands. Then once I get to the ||lava zone|| ill put one there for access to the ||four pcf portals||

Its not quite as easy, as you are affected by gravity in a prawn, but you get to pretend to be spider man pulling yourself up walls and slingshotting yourself around.

I use my cyclops to travel between bases and if I need quick supplies to expand or anything I just zoom around in the seamoth

Then place two tube compartments
Patially build a bulkhead door between the two tube compatments
Delete one tube compartment
Then fully build the bulkhead door
Open the bulkhead door
The game thinks your still inside the base
Now you can build beds and standing lockers on the foundation
But cant build anything which needs to be attached to walls.Like fabricators or medkit fabricator

"Absolutely possible in survival/hardcore too! Let me explain quickly:

Step 1: Place a foundation at your desired camera rotation (dx;dy;dz) and your desired coordinates (x;y;z)

Step 2: Place a multipurpose-room (or any other base part, but multipurpose-room for convenience) on the set base-grid of the foundation but NOT on the foundation

Step 3: Deconstruct the foundation and go far enough away from the multipurpose-room so the grid doesnt snap anymore

Step 4: Go to your camera rotation and coordinates relative to the multipurpose-room so it is centered (here comes the ocd, the more ocd the better) and build multiple sample foundations just millimeters apart so you have enough tries

Step 5: Build foundations over to the multipurpose-room and pray

Step 6: If it didnt work, repeat Step 4&5

Step 7: Profit
