Both wikis?
Exactly 50 of {{Experimental}} have been removed.
thanks
What can I say except I'll never sing?
Whatever makes your heart sing
We should pull the coordinates from the BZ wiki seamonkey nest article, with the new stable build I don't think any of them are right anymore.
update them
I would, but I've scanned most of them already in my current game, so it'll take a while. For now they're misleading and kinda useless, might as well blank the column.
Why not just make a new game
i mean they cant all be wrong
I think the only ones that might be right are the laser cutters. Ultra tank is absolutely wrong, those are in Lilypad Islands now.
then check in game and update them
Well yeah, but until I get around to that shouldn't we remove information we know is false?
we dont know that its false
The ultra tank locations are.
so update those first 🙂
Do you think the item and fragment spawn is similar to that of Subnauticas? @agile spindle where in wrecks it’s more like a few items from a possible set of items will appear kinda thing
dont wrecks have set item locations
anyway no sea monkey nests are placed not random
Small ones usually have random items,
But always from a specific list of items that’ll appear
@cinder dagger they are not wrong.
Maybe what they have was modified, but that's all.
A lot of nests were added since, though. (52 total.)
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Easter_Eggs
Yay, or nay to A FANDOM user?
its fine i think
@late island can you take a look at the new decorations icons in whatever program you use to upload icons
they look super dark in asset studio for some reason
specifically the fridge
item icons and other sprites are always like that without the program I use
no wonder they looked off to me
can you reupload those five and the three discus icons
(or link me the program you use)
I still can't prove that Stalker can gift, I tried it again yesterday but they mostly only just become temporary passive after being fed.
Did some kid youtuber link our wiki or something
why are we getting so much trolling and general dumbassery
Update ?
@fluid lagoon you do it
Thank
@agile spindle

How’s a warper an Easter egg? 🤔
How's a desk? 😉
Should you count cosmetic base pieces as an Easter egg? Yeah me neither
Alright ok sure makes sense
warn him or i can’t do anything about it
Why are people like this
K
“Heat Wave, In: Land Creature, Water Creature and Building“
I sure do love crafting crater edges
I thought that was the developers' job.
I see someone’s going nuts over assigning categories on the wiki
Someone thinking they’re making a giant impact on the world by assigning categories one at a time?
Yeah the guy is just adding categories one at a time, I would think it’s badge farming, but they are just a fandom user
half the time the categories arent even wrong
True.
but the other half...................
I don’t have the time to do background checks on each category added
But when he’s finished with his little spree perhaps compiling a list for cleanup would do nicely
Or we can turn anonymous editing off for a while.
i just explained in council why i dont want to do that sls
It’s a double edged sword if you ask me, on one hand we get more editors and people who spot details we miss in the countless pages or minor corrections. Making it user account only can sometimes discourage users from editing and going through the process because,
People can be lazy
, but at the same time it allows people to easily and freely vandalize.
<@&192900629797142528> disable or keep anon editing? (both wikis) (check is to disable)
Why would you disable anon editing?
because it sucks
That's like, the foundation of a wiki
actually anonymous edits are a tiny percentage of edits
and most of them recently have been pretty poor quality
I dunno, I just think it goes against the philosophy of a wiki to try and restrict page access
It's somdtimes necessary of course, but i just think it should be done as a last resort
Just.my two cents
i thought so too but in the end the cons outweigh the pros
I edit on wikiHow quite a bit
Doubt I'd have joined if I couldn't edit as a new user
Well I suppose you wiki keepers would know that
I don't use the Subnautica wiki so idk what percentage of anonymous users are vandals
But I'm guessing it's very high for you to consider this
new users can edit, they just need an account first
Well, most new users on a wiki start off by editing anonymously
not according to fandom
Good
Just imagine how much nicer it'll be without the recent changes being full of IP users talking complete nonsense or pretending to be fish
i dont see any Nickle in this
so remove it
i dont have an acc
my name is taken somehow
choose a different one
fixed
Should I undo this edit
@agile spindle
rewrite it
K
@ivory steppe can you try to check your edits before you publish so you dont end up doing multiple edits to change one thing
makes it hard to moderate
how do we know ryleys age
do we
well it’s on the wiki
Ryley or Robin?
ryley
Where is the age listed?
on the bz wiki
I cannot find any other information on the wiki to corroborate https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Ryley_Robinson.
It was BippityBop who added it to the infobox, some random user who added it as a sentence, and ~~another random guy ~~who removed that sentence.
It appears to be somebody who does not like his/her friend disappearing but has a slow reaction time.
XD
But seriously tho what is it???
I searched Subnautica in the GIFs thing
and that was at the top
k
yes\
I've done a couple of playthroughs on EA7, and I'm still not sure what's required to trigger getting the Outpost Omega door code. I have one playthrough where I repaired the radio tower, acquired AL-AN, triggered both Maida scenes, built a Seatruck, visited Outpost Omega, and the door code still isn't in my PDA. On another playthrough, I only repaired the radio tower and acquired AL-AN, and the code was already in my PDA. Seems to be buggy.
That's something more to ask in #below-zero-chat
Unless this is something that the wiki has no information on but should.
But I have no idea.
Those are my findings. I eventually got the Omega door code to show up on the 2 broken playthroughs by saving, quitting, and reloading the game. It's buggy.
OP, could you click on the "Spoiler" button for this post? That's the best way to mark the discussion as a spoiler thread. Spoilers...
- Visit the frozen creature in the Glacial Basin > Send Kharaa Sample
- Acquire Output Omega door code > Get Omega Research Notes
- Trigger Maida scene on Rocket Island > Visit Maida in her Base
- Get Jeff's ColleaguePDA
Once those 3 steps (+ their respective triggered conversations) are done, wait 1 day, and you'll trigger the audio dialogue for acquiring Enzyme 42, after which the Emperor Leviathan will spawn in the arctic biome.
"You can't get the sample unless you first unlock the notification for the Glacial basin." <= Same thing.
You need the briefing to unlock Omega.
And your first point is wrong, you need to pick up one salvage to trigger Marg1.
Actually, a lot of your points are wrong.
dont the depth modules only drop after the towers been fixed
You need sanctuary, you need to repair the radio, you need to be "safe", then wait 360 seconds to have the briefing. Then you wait 120 seconds to have the Log_Alan_3, and at this point, you built the Seatruck previously and the game will check if you have it, or you're building it after and it triggers.
Safe means you don't need to eat, drink, oxygen.
datamining
'
Yes. ILV.
@cursive vigil Did you know that your question can be answered on the wiki? The link to it is in this channel's description.
What's this channel even for anyway lol
the wiki
For datamining triggers for events, can I do that myself without cracking or decrypting any files? Can I figure it out black box, or will I need insider info?
youll have to ask ignis about that
You obviously need to do reverse engineering.
is there only in the active mining base i can find prawn suit fragments
Nvm
@agile spindle im pretty disconnect with the news but do you think the whole story changes will alter anything related to content placement such as fragments ores n such?
that stuff will change regardless of story
BZ wiki, can we move "salvage" -> "ship wreck salvage" since there's no longer two items called "salvage?"
I'm in favor of just renaming it to Ship Wreck Salvage.
Is there a plan for the Walkthrough page? Some parts of it are outdated. Mainly, is it going to stay on EA7 or move to reflecting experimental once the stories diverge?
It's so detailed that it feels pretty daunting to update it.
i am sorry
tl;dr
featured videos are BACK BAYBEEEEE
except this time they have absolutely nothing to do with the wikis theyre on
altho they only show up for logged out users
its not something i like to have there
on the bright side they arent rolling it out to our wiki just yet
At the very least, it's better than having a player-spawned Sea Dragon Leviathan with voiceover as a featured video.
i would prefer outdated but relevant to irrelevant
but i asked to make our own videos and i was told no
Well. Do we really need videos?
true.
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/File:EndCinematicSFX.ogg this audio is out of date
Dialogue in-game is the act of someone (or something) talking. In Subnautica, there are many times where Dialogue will occur. Below are two lists: one containing all dialogue that is currently...
"solar system earth"
"dark matter thrusters"
so update it
I dont have the tech to get audio tracks like that
@edgy lagoon you seem to be good at getting stuff like this
we need an audio file updated
you dont have headphones?
I can put together the audio
Wait do I need to include the music
Nvm it doesn't have any
I'll upload the latest file I have
Thought I needed to add the music from the end cinematic to it
But I was just big dumb
Updated it Terran
thxs
Of note: the pictured fragment for the Power Transmitter in SN wiki is that grey fridge-thing from the beta, haven't they changed it now?
they have
Also, experimental build log suggests the "none" objects in the crashed ship bow are supposed to be depleted reactor rods.
One gets the feeling that disabling anonymous editing did not entirely solve the problem.
Well no, idiots existing is just something you have to live with
The only full solution would be inventing a way to kill people through the internet 😛
Wikipedia doesn't even disable anonymous edits because 1) it's so easy to create accounts, and 2) IPs editors make it easier to identify bad editors.
@turbid ermine I gave unlockallbuildables a try, and it does unlock both the "I Glass" and "L Glass" compartments. Seems like it unlocks more than "unlockall"
I think I have a better idea about the triggers now. Still not 100% certain though.
-
Log_Vesper_Briefing ("SAM: Robin, we're working on sending you a supply drop.")
Trigger: Repair communications tower, download AL-AN, wait 1/2 day in-game (or 10 minutes real-time). -
"Log_AlterraBase1_Clue" : "PDA: Nearing vicinity of outpost omega.",
Trigger: Visit Outpost Omega after "Log_Vesper_Briefing" has finished playing. -
Log_Alan_3 ("AL-AN: You did not reveal me to your master.")
- Trigger: Wait 2 minutes after "Log_Vesper_Briefing". This also unlocks "Signal_GlacialBasin"
-
"Log_Vesper_ResearchNotesFollowup" and "Log_Vesper_LeviathanSampleSent_Followup"
Trigger: I'm not entirely sure about this one. I believe that after sending both the Kharaa Sample & picking up the Omega Research Notes, enter a base, then wait another 1/2 day in-game (or 10 real minutes). You'll receive one of the 2 messages; it's random which one you hear. Then after waiting another 1/2 day in-game (or 10 real minutes), you hear the other message. -
"Log_Vesper_ColleaguePDASent_Followup"
Trigger: After picking up the ColleaguePDA, wait 1/2 day in-game and then enter any base. -
"Log_Vesper_EnzymeRequested" : "SAM: Robin, I've got good news and bad. ROBIN: What's the good news?"
Trigger: After all of the above and meeting Maida at her base, wait 1/2 day in-game.
Well they also have like a dozen bots running
And they at least put children shouting at each other on the talk page rather than in a dungeon that can be seen by any poor soul who scrolls the article down too far.
wikipedia has far more moderation than our wiki
like theres probably people on there 24/7 watching for nonsense edits
Yep.
It's weird that fandom seems to have removed the ability of the ban time box to parse "infinite" as a ban length option, but still allows you to ban users for 4,000 years if you want to.
Should probably clamp down on idle chatter in page comments, stuff like the junk that "porg lord" guy added I'd just delete outright.
i dont waste too much time deleting comments
i keep an eye out for swearing, hard spam, and noot jokes
everything else is depending on my mood
yea get out
I don't see why you hate the noot jokes though
I see how they can get annoying really quickly
I mean that's true yes.

@cinder kestrel whats this cryptic thing youre doing
That porg guy is spamming links to his awful blog
@late island need transparencies for ice fruit plant and leafy fruit plant. both creatable
Don't you love sn wiki users
The ones with an IQ that doesn't start with a decimal point are ok? 😛
I also need the new 1x2 aquatic background
can we please get a proper png for alan already
no one around seems to like taking pictures anymore
like i dont think we've had pictures added to the wiki in over a week despite the fact that we are ridiculously behind on them
the person who posted alans picture didnt even take it themselves
pay me $5
i linked you the community todo list like 4 times and youve touched maybe one item on it in over a month
Broski that is not how I operate
Just tell me to do stuff. The only thing I'm doing on my own is redoing the getting started page
i dont want to ping someone else to do something every single time something is added
otherwise what is the point of a todo list if when i add something i tell someone to do it
and im not a dictator, if you dont want to do stuff im not gonna rely on you to do it
It's not that I don't want to do stuff.
It's that I'm both too busy and too lazy to do it without being told.
youre too busy but you want me to ping you 4 times a day
Ye. By busy I mean distracted. I don't look, so pinging me gets me to look.
@edgy lagoon can you take care of the entire todo list
$5
ill get my artist friend to commission some catastory porn
I feel Porg person has confused "stop that" with "do that a lot more than you were doing"
I’ll get pictures soon
getting a bit burnt out
I’m following development too closely for someone not actually on the dev team
well then i need your sprite extracting program
I’ll post the item pics tonight
item pics?
the sprites
i just need the one bg atm
@agile spindle We may never know.
Looking at the recent changes on SN wiki is making me very sad
It is the death of comedy
I regret commenting on this rp comment thread
so in the next update for the base game, can we get a cyclops update? specifically to its movement? its movement feels way too linear, even if the nose of the cyclops points downwards as you dive would make it feel a lot better.
no
but it'd be super worth it tho, real subs tilt a bit as they dive.
it would make maneauvering into trenches a lot easier given the cyclops is almost as big as the neptune.
thats the risk you take driving such a big vehicle
now we aren't devs, and this is not the right chat to be making suggestions
go to #subnautica-chat
@fluid lagoon
what happened here
It appears that tueman pinged vee.
probably spam cleanup
okay things have changed with the sprite sheets
I'll need to figure out how exactly to do this again, if it even still works.
bro please
@cursive vigil #below-zero-chat would probably fit this better. 🙂
sry
there's not anything else in the files or anything that needs an image right?
got it
i tried to downgrade the game before the 11/12 update, but without success, can someone help me to proceed ?
create them
they have their own prefabs
because from what I'm seeing the plant and the spire are two parts of the same prefab
yeah they made combined prefabs to save on rendering
also makes sense from an LD point of view
hm they do have their own models but not their own prefabs
you could try loading up the meshes externally with the textures and just cutting those out
well I got the two fruit trees at least
they're up on the wiki now
both look good 👍
@late island can you upload the 1x2 aquatic seed bg?
for what?
leafy fruit
no thats the land plant bg
thanks
<@&192900629797142528> thoughts https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Thread:200952
I mean, it seems interesting.
As long as it decreases the amount of wiki users with an iq less than 0 that'd be a nice option to me.
I don't agree with it but I think we should accept on principal that we've been invited by sans undertale
sorry
i had to
really though I don't care. If y'all think it's a good thing go for it
Big upvote from me. I've had it added to the Fandom Minecraft Wiki, and—well, so far, all it's done is cause spam in Discussions, but it'll probably lead to something great in the future. I assume.
If we decide to do it, I volunteer to be an advisor as I have an abounding patience for "wiki users with an iq less than 0."
I wish I had that patience.
Since when are we doing it like this?
we arent
Should I undo it? Or can normal people not undo each other's stuff
I love how u call them normal people
Users without rights.
And yes, you can. You just don't get a single button to do it in one action.
"Normal people" 😂
@agile spindle can you undo it? Guess a random doing it isn't assertive enough for 'em.
I already undid it before, he just redid it.
im glad you can stand up to randoms
im glad you can stand up to randoms
It's why no other wiki gladly pays me $0 to not have me around.
dyslexia + odd sentences is not a fun combo
Is snexpansion.unknownworlds.com down for anyone else?
yep
I need to resize these lmao, they're so overly massive
that’s just how they appear in the activity
For the record, the problem with asserting the Chelicerate is an invertebrate is that it's an alien. Any resemblance it has to Earth's Cheliceratae would be superficial because barring some argument about the Precursors seeding worlds with life, they can't possibly be related to one another. Therefore, you can't generalise traits of one to the other.
invertebrate just means it doesnt have a spine
Yeah, but we don't know that.
It's not totally impossible to have both an exoskeleton and an endoskeleton.
on earth its impossible 😉
Well, sure, but it's an alien :P
I assume when they write it a proper scan data we'll know for sure one way or the other.
IRL, creatures with exoskeletons have only ever got to about 10 feet long, after that the structural issues mess you up even if you live in water. So I'd assume it would have to have some kind of internal support structure if they're going for semi-realism.
i dont think realism is one of their goals
I think it being assumed it was an invertebrate was just due to its name being based off a family of invertebrate creatures on earth
then again, this is Subnautica we are talking about and names and databanks are known for contradicting each other or making no sense
Yeah, its jaws don't have an elbow joint and so aren't actually chelicerae in the strictest sense anyway.
Would be kind of neat if they did an SN set on prehistoric Earth with the eras flubbed together a bit. Hiding from Mosasaurs and Megalodons and petting the trilobites.
No, just no
this is not the place to suggest that
nor is it a good idea at all but that's another discussion
that idea scares me as if Tom comes back and works on a game like that he would probably make megalodons be ancestors of great whites
I do wonder how much the new writer will change from Tom's writing
I hope they make the arctic no longer be on the equator
I agree with this
I imagine they'll leave scenario aspects like that alone and focus on the event sequence

I feel indifferent on that, considering the arctic should just not be on the equator. The writer's gonna take one look at it and say "no"
What did happen to Tom?
I imagine that's something they insisted on because they were worried the compass would be too confusing if there was a magnetic pole inside the map area.
I feel like that it was just Tom being himself and not knowing that equators are warm, then after learning they are warm decided to say just "screw it, messed up climate makes it be at the equator"
i don’t think it was toms choice
They never did really explain it aside from announcing he has left.
Maybe he got told he was gonna get fired and he left on his own, who knows.
he got burnt out so he left
IIRC his explanation on Twitter was that he wants to work with small indie studies and Unknown Worlds was getting too big for his taste.
Ah,..
Makes sense.
Why are we [not] keeping the sound file of the Below Zero Sea Emperor Leviathan page?
we're not keeping it
So now we know the definition of Leviathan class is "whatever the PDA decides is Leviathan class"
Rockgrubs are now leviathans
So now we know the definition of Leviathan class is "whatever the PDA decides is Leviathan class"
Has that not always been the case, though?
It's like how accelerando, ritardando, and rallentando all mean "follow the conductor."
(They are "speed up," "slow down," and "really slow down," respectively)
You have two triggers.
One is 3600 seconds after you try to disactivate the gun.
Second is 1200 seconds after you reach the base in the lost river.
When they say "no one is really sure when it will first contact you", that's not true. Because I am.
The 2nd trigger always happens in the lava zone. And the 3rd is after the blue tablet is picked up
plz stop
Why would he need to stop
??????????? @cursive vigil
Hey can anyone help me with my problem?
Subnautica consitently freezes and crashes
the game will freeze however audio still plays (although when this happens all backround audio stops e.g Discord)
and then it will crash
I just built a new pc so the problem being the hardware is unlikely
I have a Ryzen 5 2600x, RX 590, 16GB DDR4 3000MHz and the latest drivers installed
if somebody could help that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Have you tried reinstalling it, maybe some of the downloaded data is broken
@dense kite This is not the place to ask, ask in #subnautica-chat or tr #🔧sn1-bz-tech-support
is there a noclip equivalent in below zero?
JOYEUX NOEL
Wrong channel.
When you're looking at movement speed in F1 stats screen, the 5s average speed seems to vary within 0.3 m/s given the same equipment and location. Do any of you have more details on why it varies so much?
For example, I'll take a measurement and get an average that fluctuates within +/- 0.05 m/s. I'll then do another trial, and it'll be 0.3 m/s different (also fluctuating +/- 0.05 m/s). Is the stats screen inaccurate; is it RNG; or is there another factor that's present?
probably because the swimming animation changes the player model a bit
to get that bobbing effect when moving
@everyone happy christmas
Swimming animation shouldn't be it. I also see it when driving the Seamoth and Seatruck to the same degree. (I suppose it's not that big of a deal. If you do enough trials, you will always get results within that range, and the Wiki has always used the upper-end of the range.)
Thank god that that @ everyone did not work
By the way, you can have up to all of the Cuddlefish eggs at a time, if you visit all the locations:
||NE mushroom forest
NW mushroom forest
Dunes Sinkhole
Deep Grand Reef Desagi Seabase
Lost River Laboratory Cache||
I think that’s all.
Total should be 5
Would a parasitic organism be labeled as “Animal” or “Plant” or does it have it’s own category?
No need to tag spoilers in a wiki discussion chat I think
At least no one does that
Meh, better safe than spoiling stuff for the newbies
Yeah but everyone knows that in a wiki discussion there are spoilers.
Yeah but everyone knows that in a wiki discussion there are spoilers.
Not true.
@cursive vigil what parasitic organism are you referring to
i assume kharaa
Floaters?
You can get more info on it a bit of a ways up in #art-archive-8
Nope
It’s in my BZ biome concept
Completely original
O
It's a cute drawing, but it wouldn't go on the Wiki.
Nor is this channel the place to discuss its labeling. #subnautica-chat or #below-zero-chat , maybe. You can also look at https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Flora and https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Fauna.
I.... didn’t wanna put it on the wiki, I’m just writing an entry about it and got stumped on its labeling
And now you know how to handle it.
I think a line in the stillsuit page in subnautica wiki should be changed
"With the food penalty, the player can easily starve to death if not having a food supply"
Its actually hard to starve with the stillsuit water alone
has the wiki been incredibly laggy to load for anyone else
Not me
must be my adblocker
@agile spindle Mind deleting this page? https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Map_of_alien_arch's
In the Alien Arch article it has not been very clear as to which alien arch.and whitch one's connect to whitch connect to which. ///THIS ARTICLE WILL BE CONTINUED LATER COLLECTING MORE INFO.
Thank you kindly vee.
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Prawn_Suit_Poster_-_Sea claims that there's a poster in the administration office, but the picture is of the land poster and I didn't find one in the administration office.
When you enter the room it should be on the right
there'e nothing there and i only have one of those posters
/me rids the page on the Gargantuan Fossil of a really weird theory that a completely intact, exposed fossil somehow got there due to plate tectonics. Rather than, you know, maybe it made the cave it's in and it's not the same shape anymore because 3 million years.
Do you really think something on that scale of violence would leave the thing neatly posed with its mouth open?
I highly doubt the Gargantuan Leviathan made the Lost River
the gargantuan is the lost river
Gargantuan Leviathan is litterally estimated to be about half the size of the crater
To quote the data bank, "Its sheer size would have prohibited it from entering such an enclosed space, suggesting the geography of the planet has shifted around it over time."
^^^^
Which is probably talking about changes to the cave system rather than massive tectonic activity magically leaving sections of perfectly composed ribcage
That's just silly
ok but the leviathan didnt make the cave
Sure, could have enlarged an existing cave.
the databank says the cave was formed around it
Naw, it says the cave changed around it, doesn't say there was ever a point where there wasn't a cave.
its implied
because the cave is too small for it to have entered
therefore, it mustve been made after it died
Or the cave became smaller after it died
Which is more likely than a cave system being created from nowhere without disturbing the skeleton
i dont buy it
The creature is still half the size of the crater
Doesn't really matter, things can curl up and fit in ridiculously tiny spaces
It is still best to go with the databank
As no evidence shows it was a nesting place
yeah but thats much less likely than it dying in the middle of nowhere
Do you know a meter long TOW missile that's 152mm in diameter contains 6.5 kilometres of command wire?
yes because some machine compacted as hard as it could
A wire is a lot more flexible than bone
No, it's loosely wound around a spool
unfortunately a goliath from shadow of the colossus did not grab our gargantuan leviathan and shove it hard into some random cave
And even if the Gargantuan could curl up. It would still take up a lot of space
Yep, and we don't know how much of the cave system has been lost over time
or gained
I would still go with the PDA saying it formed around it
Even if databanks are dumb half the time
And even then
If the Leviathan curled in a circle, that circle would only need to be 280m in diameter. It's actually pretty easy to fit it in the crater as long as youndont try to do it lengthways
yes, then it mosied on sideways into a cave like an autistic worm
This beats the planet having geography that can form an entire cave system without knocking a bone over
Honestly the bone probably isnt knock over because gameplay
^
Who actually knows what way the ribcage goes
maybe its upside down
And i think the jaws dont actually have a way to close
Is this supposed to be the geological equivalent of that trick where you pull the tablecloth off without disturbing the tea set?
Yeah
The jaw of the Gargantuan is just one solid bone
So it cant even close
10/10 modeling
Only the weirdo reasoning originally on the page wants us to believe the bones were covered in sediment without being knocked over and then the sediment was eroded away by the flow of...What, magic?
hey man
you didnt believe in aliens and now look
@fluid lagoon its happening again
Is someone trying to assemble a pizza

Found this at the jellyshroom cave page on the wiki. "User 'Paul Torgal' requested cross-referencing of local environment scans with ideal habitat construction conditions. Displaying results.
- Large subterranean cavern with multiple entrances
- Conditions support a unique microcosm of predatory lifeforms
- Minor structural instability in cave walls
- Extensive resource deposits
Average Environment Safety Rating: C
Optimal Habitat Site Safety Rating: B
Site 7 has been selected as the optimal habitat construction site for the following reasons:
- Close proximity to one of the cave entrances, in case of emergency
- Medium distance from predatory organisms
- Stable foundations on which to build
- Ready access to materials
A signal tracking the site has been created."
Where does this come from?
One of the little platforms scattered around the area
Yea, it's just a random platform. It gives you a duplicate signal for the Jellyshroom Base. It's meant to be there if you didn't find the PDA on the Island, but because of how it works, you'll have two signals in the same location.
I had a question to ask but wasn't to sure if spoilers are aloud in this channel. are they? the question may not include spoiler depending on who you ask but just wanted to be safe.
@topaz plume Of course they're allowed in a wiki discussion
ok thanks. I was watching the Subnautica cinematic trailer when I realised the person speaking in the background(the person featured in the video) mentioned marguerite. He said that she was her mom. From the video you can only assume that he crash landed before the aurora. does this mean that he could be related to marguerite in SubZero( sorry if spelling of the names are wrong)
@topaz plume you should ask in #below-zero-chat
if i use the dev console and turn on invisibility, can i turn it off after?
yes
ty ❤️
Anyone know where i can put al-an together??
i did
The deep reef degassi seabase described in https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Degasi_Seabases has a known bug, where the player cannot enter the second level through the broken hatch. If you re-load your game, it should fix the bug.
This happened to me, it happened to several other wiki users, and there have been a number of individuals who have commented on the wiki article, expressing frustration that they can't figure out how to enter the second level of the base. Would anyone be opposed if I added a little note to that section of the article, mentioning how to fix this common bug? It seems like it would save players a lot of frustration if the solution is actually detailed within the article (and the question won't need to be asked/answered multiple times). I'm just not sure how you folks typically choose to document common but frustrating bugs like this on the wiki.
Would be better in a bug section of the page like how other bugs are treated on other pages
@neon mesa we use a bug section for bugs, see an example on the Prawn Suit page https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Prawn_Suit
youre welcome to add one for the degasi seabases page
tho verify that it hasnt been fixed yet
Ah great! I was wondering if a "bugs" section in the article would be acceptable. I hadn't noticed one on any articles I'd visited yet, but I guess that's probably a good thing (no bugs!). I had an issue getting into the seabase less than a week ago, so I'm thinking It hasn't been patched. I will search around to verify though.
Thanks for the quick responses! 🙂
Links to https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Template:Bugs for more bug sections in articles.
I'm curious: I've heard that some of the game developers may use the wiki in some way (or at least look at it). Do they happen to review https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Bugs every so often, to identify game bugs the community has documented (to help identify what could be fixed)?
I'd assume they look at #🐞bug-smash more often than they look at a Special page on the wiki.
^
Would it be wiser to change the read at your own risk warning from 'unmarked spoilers' to just contains spoilers as most articles that warning is on is jsut referencing a things that are story-pertinent which means that the entire page is a spoiler by default
@neon mesa the way i understood it when they told us was that they looked up information
we didn’t allow bugs on articles until just recently
Interesting. Does the Discord bug report bot only lift reports from users who have submitted them via the in-game method then?
I imagine there could be situations where a player did not submit a bug report in-game, and instead they chose to comment about it online (or add bug-related info to the wiki). I'm just curious if there happens to be additional methods the developers use to learn about bugs that players may be talking about online. They may already be aware of it, but that link above is an easy way to keep track of any bugs that are documented across the wiki. It will give them a complete list, without having to manually search for anything.
no the bug report bot only logs bugs the player reports directly to the bot
i think their current QA methods are more than enough to be aware of most bugs
You're probably right tueman. Overall in my play experience, I do find the original Subnautica to be relatively bug-free at this point. However, this is an additional source of that type of information at least, if needed. Periodcally cross-referencing that list could add an extra level of diligence and possibly identify some unique content, although they may already be doing something like that. 😉
@late island can you make a transparency for https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Deep_Lily_Pad_Mushroom
The Deep Lily Pad Mushroom is a mushroom found in the Deep Lilypads Cave. It can be harvested in large abundance. It can be used to make Hydrochloric Acid
its the small pick-up flora in the deep lilypads cave
which i now realize can be abbreviated to DLC
Idk if it’s just the Epic version but I don’t think I’ve had a play session without encountering a bug. My friend saw me play a bit briefly and there was at least one. I’m being vague because there were honestly so many different bugs that I can’t tell you which was when
Go for bugs that are actually replicable and would be interesting as trivia or are potentially harmful if the player isn't aware of them.
Like the Moonpool's persistent ability to destroy the first module in a Seatruck if you come in too fast from the wrong direction in BZ.
Nerd? Discuss.
thats awful bold talk for someone within banning distance
that ones in the rules i think, it's both wiki and a discussion
wiki banning distance
ive got my eyes on you
hot, tell me more 😉
I just wanna know what makes people think nerd == bad
The nerds own everything
Gates
Zuckerburg
i got the subnautica font onto the wiki
i know none of you will use this information but
Nerds are awesome. Zuckerberg ... not so much.
I didn’t say nice just rule the world
keep it on topic
Zuckerberg is my daddy
what in the world is going on here
ask him what he thinks of hong kong
i don't think i want to
write tiananmen square massacre in the comments and see if he ever comes back
Crikey
Hot
Does anybody know were the exteriour growbed is i thought it was supposed to be in the shipwreck????
in the island with the bases
Wich one?
the one that doesn't have a giant cannon on it
Oh thx
This discussion made me chuckle...
Big alien gun
On the Wiki is says that the Warper can be found in the lost river 'Junction", however I found this not to be true, could anybody explain why?
It says bleeders can be found in LR too but ive never seen one their either
The zone labeled "2" is the junction. I have a base set up there, havn't seen a single warper.
The only place I've found warpers in the lost river is in zone 4. I have not been to the southern half of the river however.
Might have been from a warper straying outside of the research lab area
Look around the entrance to the research lab area @river plank where the game considers it the boundary between the junction and research lab.
As for the bleeder, my memory they were there way back when in older versions but I don’t know if they were removed.
Yeah but saying that it's in the junction is just wrong
Double check the area around the research lab area entrance
Yeah but the wiki isnt even labeling the research lab
the warper is more in the research lab then it is the junction
🤔
so it shouldnt be labeled as junction
im submitting my edit
what's the offical name of the lab?, i need to link it as well
i also have no idea if the subnautica wiki works how other wikis do, ones that ive curated
what do you mean
Yeah. I’ll give a look for bleeders in the lost river when I have the chance. Or if anyone is in game could you check?
The wiki isn’t loading on my end atm so I can’t help with that
what are bleeders again?
oh those things
@heady gulch Does it need to be labeled as a spoiler?
Doesn’t the warper page already have a spoiler warning at the top of the page?
ah yes it does
people dont read those
generally one of the mods/admins looks at it
there's no organized effort to patrol every edit though
I’m not familiar with any new formatting. Nor can I access the wiki atm so if there was any changes to formatting for links or keywords that have spoilers the others can help w/ that.
@agile spindle can you make a guide on how to setup unity to edit terrain for subnautica im
and i cant follow simple directions unless you spell them out letter by letter and i read them 124923948 times
you cant
you literally told me i could
i was theorizing a way it could be done
and then i backtracked because it would be missing a lot of elements that the devs use to edit maps
on top of that i dont actually know how to set it up
Reason: Bad word usage
prosperity

fmf
Should we have collapsible spoiler sections on pages that already have a spoiler warning?
Mostly because it really clutters some pages
if it has a spoiler warning it shouldn’t have collapsible sections at all
Alright. I'll go through some pages and fix that in the morning.
Thanks for answering.
Too late, SLSbot already fixed the six offending articles.
This really do be a bot moment
Where was the map for sn bz?
I can't find it and i can't locate due to random spawn location
Thx
anyone know where to find metal salvage in below zero?
i saw some in #below-zero-chat
(also on the wiki which is what is linked in the description of this chat that's about the wiki, you should check it out)
We do not do reviews on the wiki.
you know a lot of these questions can be answered by just
reading the wiki
@agile spindle Should we allow creative bugs in the bugs section too?
only if theyre not from using commands
Gottcha, thanks
should we change the no swearing rule to no excessive swearing?
im getting a bit tired of deleting comments that arent really harmful
yes
I can agree.
what
you gave the infobox a title even tho it doesnt need one
It does that by default with visual editor
I think
And vee is a weakling who uses visual editor
Hmm.
@agile spindle should we split the seabase modules on the Subnatica wiki like it is on the Below Zero wiki?
I'd be willing to do it myself
yea
it’s not split on bz
It's not split but each one has it's own page
do they not on SN?
Oh dang they do, they weren't coming up when i searched
Nvm I'm just an idiot
They're named different between the two wikis, that's why
Hilarious

Maybe an idea: Add a map to the Lifepod 5 page displaying all possible spawn locations for the Lifepod
That'd be long time
I mean we have other maps on there I think
Alright so it's been a while since I've mentioned it, but I finally finished the entire segment on the Aurora on the Walkthrough page.
Next up is the Mountain Island
Good luck
I think that would be a useful map. I'd expect the speedrunning community to have one already.
isn't there already an image that displays where lifepod 5 can spawn
Can someone confirm that the Aurora Blackbox still gives you the waypoint to the Mountain Island?
Alright thanks
Will Tom's page be deleted as well since the old VA's page was deleted too
I don't think so, since Tom's content is still in the game.
It should be made past tense if not already though.
I was wondering, what’s the reason for not having pictures in the walkthrough of below zero?
the pictures on there werent really helpful
Ah alright
Why don't we have a list with spawn locations on the Time Capsule page?
Also this picture should really be updated
Then update it
Maybe when I'm home I'll do it unless you want a picture with lowest graphics
I ain't gonna be home until 21:00 pst and it's 08:30 so I won't be able to until way late
If you get home earlier do it on your end
I'll get home in like 1h then I have like 30m before I have to go eat and am going to watch something on TV
the blueprints wiki says the rebreather blueprints are gotten from creepvine samples, they're actually gotten from crafting a high capacity o2 tank
the normal subnautica one
idk anything about that
this is wrong
update it if its wrong
Blueprints are special schematics that are required to make certain advanced items in the game. They are discovered by finding the Data Boxes in the Degasi Seabases, Destroyed Lifepods and Wrecks...
don't have an account and too lazy to make one lol
I wish to ask for a time capsule map page
theyre random
But they do spawn in specific biomes
they don't spawn in caves
this is all information that can go on the time capsule page and does not require any form of map
That’s true but we can make a list of biomes where it spawns
Below Zero has it's own wiki. https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Subnautica:_Below_Zero

Why do you ping the SN chat? They were on topic
there was another message that was deleted
@agile spindle you wanna delete this one
lmao
Something about our guidelines not allowing it, I think.
the blank page told me so much dude
how am i suppose to complete the game now without my blank page
i remember when people were productive in this chat
when was that
before dino became inactive
blank page was my homie
same bro
is this channel dead
yes
Particularly maybe kinda
I'll come back eventually
I just think I got too invested into Subnautica considering how little influence I actually have
maybe once things aren't actually changing I'll do one last sweep of the place
Even now I still feel like I might be too invested. I've occasionally considered writing one last list of everything I'd like to see tweaked or polished up but that just feels like a waste of time this close to finishing developement, and would probably just be more annoying than anything.
<@&192900629797142528> Can somebody change this to 48? I cannot edit this portion of the page. (Robin Goodall)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AA?
its accurate
How is "??" accurate @agile spindle
because thats what the ingame pda says
no

how much was really cut from the original story? I own the game but am not playing it until it is finished. Been watching JSEs latest vids to catch up on the new story however
fair bit
Thankfully I have the permission to delete my own messages, otherwise what I posted here would have been really dumb
I really need to sleep
are you done yet
i can see everything
@agile spindle do you work for subnautica?
no they only pay competent people
ookey
They don't pay Terran...
- Starbound
- What does this have to do with the wiki
oh thanks and idk
This channel has a topic for a reason.
Wait what?
Anomnum your profile pic has to be terraria theres no way
It's Starbound. That's a Novakid character.
Why the hell are you talking bout it in wiki
in Subnautica wiki for that matter? o-o''
I wonder that myself, I just thought it wouldn't hurt to help clear up the confusion about anomnum's profile pic.
Hey, could somebody change wiki entry for Crashfish to say that it looks like a DnD's Beholder instead of Doom's Cacodemon?
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/forgottenrealms/images/e/e3/Petrifiedvictims.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20190921160629
Huh, I never thought of that with Crashfish.
🤦♂️ you can complain about his Pfp in the #off-topic
I would still say it looks quite like a Cacodemon
The Beholder has eyestalks instead of horns and Crashfish’s spines appear much more similar to the Cacodemon’s horns
We can compromise and say something along the lines of “the Crashfish’s appearance seems to draw on aspects of Doom’s Cacodemon, which itself is likely based upon the Beholder from Dungeons & Dragons”
@summer kindle should you also add that to the BZ wiki?
Yes
pretty sure the crashfish is based on the doom cacodemon
dont know why walter thinks it looks more like the beholder lololol
There's not much "lololol" about it.
https://p.goloviy.com/gallery/subnautica has anyone inspected this website for concept art?
i already sent it to tueman
o ok
@edgy lagoon can you add the new concept art to the bz wiki
@edgy lagoon work faster
@fluid lagoon you worked hard this week so you get a february bonus
thanks
which concept I haven't been paying attention
So some of the art on here isn't by Pavel Goloviy but he's the uploader here and no authors are given on these
So who do I credit
Pavel Goloviy or Unknown Artist
i've inspected the artwork
they are all by Goloviy
if that isn't the case, then which ones aren't?
Nevermind, my dyslexia messin' with me
@agile spindle should I change the names of the concepts already there to reflect these names?
yes
Added them, but I'm gonna leave that to y'all to add them to each article individually and reorganize them, since I don't know a lot of them. Been out of the loop lately.
no pay
dang
what the hell do we pay you for
i get paid for this?
is your payment in mcdonalds giftcards cause I could really go for a mcflurry right now
isn't a mcflurry the last thing you need
no mcflurry without work
You could become a Fandom employee.
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Thread:200952#2: I don't think we've gained anything from it, and it's just one more thing to have around. I vote to remove it.
yo wassup
If you mean the channel list, #sn-discord-rules .
This channel's description, which tells us to talk about the wiki, is also up.
what is the mod station and how do i get it?
If you read the description of this channel, you can see that this channel is only for discussing the wiki.
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Modification_Station
which entails....
Did the link not explain what you need to know?
ask in #subnautica-chat not here
or you know just read the wiki
Such as the wiki I linked to.
Or "If you read the description of this channel."
And that is what I call self-quoting.
Should we count the Squidshark as leviathan class organism at the lower end of the scale? 🤔
no
Ok
They're only leviathans when the game calls them leviathans.
I guess
I don't think the energy efficiency module is obtainable anymore in survival/freedom; I can't find it. At least it isn't available when you build the Seatruck. This is true in both stable & experimental.
I think one thing that was missing from the game is octopus or squid that would give a much greater fear to a squid trapping cyclops than a reaper hitting his head with it
Sorry i no speaky inglesh i soul soul inglesh
👀
how is this wiki related
we dont really talk about the wiki in here anyway
@remote leaf can you add the update stuff to the update page
logo + video + patch notes
any plans to update screenshots for certain biomes? there are a few that are outdated like the stuff for sparse arctic
nobody really takes screenshots anymore for the wiki
mayb I will....
I mean I can’t rn because I’m away but I can in like 2 days
that list is under Explore if you ever wanna look at it
so the wiki says that theres a built horsepower upgrade and a blueprint for it in the crashed ship. ive explored every section of each piece now and havent found either
accidentally put that in the wrong channel
anyone know whats going on with this?
Can you send a link to the page?
I can add other stuff that isnt just words???
Lol
The storyline is out of date?
Oh no
How do you check recent blog posts in the wiki?
you mean the artifacts?
The things we can scan, the 15 thingies
And also @floral tulip I just searched it https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Search?search=&fulltext=Search&scope=internal&ns500=1&ns502=1#

I was wondering if that was i
It
I guess it is lol
I was gonna add in marguerits dialogue with robin in her base to her page but I cant
Is that even the right place to put it?
Oh so I cant edit her page at all, okie
Someone should probably update the storyline
Until the new one is out
@gray harness you need a wiki account in order to edit the page
You don’t @scarlet wagon
@silver marsh yes you do
that page in particular might be locked though
if anyone needs a page unlocked just @ me
Huh
\00000000000000000000000000000000000000000
ok is it just me or did the entire below zero wiki just bite the dust? theres only 29 pages.
or something. i cant find the dialogue
nevermind im a wet sock
People said green is happy
That true lol
I have a wiki account, just that page is locked
I was gonna add the last dialogue robin and marguerit has
Even if I was to edit a page, and do that. I will mess it up completely. Never edited a page
still a bad page
Lol is it
Ah
or wiki messages walls
Any wiki keepers that are up. I want to add in the last dialogue that Marguerit has with Robin to her page. Its locked
Damn, he sure as hell told you when he called you lame
Shouldn't Marguerit Maida's age be on the Wiki?
I don't think we have an age yet @pure iron
Maida's age is in a PDA in Subnautica
Wow in the original Subnautica the paul torgal probably thought she was hot (until they crashed)
I mean Marguerit Maida is still hot
sir step away from the old lady
54 ain't old kiddo lmao
she belongs in a museum
Totally
smdh kids these days no appreciation for art
well yeah she was 42 when the Degasi crashed
Fun
actually wasn't Mercury II shot down?
by the quarantine enforcement platform
since Ryley didn't turn it off yet
Was the virus a thing at that point?
Or did the virus start after the crash of the Mercury II
kharaa was released like a thousand years ago
humanity at that point was still taking dumps in the streets of ye olde times
humanity is still taking dumps in the streets today
It was about 1150+ bc
I dont know any medieval dudes that have got a fricking space ship behind their castle
