There is a mod that introduces a full on map to the game. If you asked them to post it on the wiki, that might solve all the problems.
actually that map has an alternate map made by someone else too, which has even MORE info.
The mapping program has seperate levels for surface, shroom cave, lost river, ILZ and LZ.

I do like coloured maps. However your map has the same problem as the curerntly posted coloured one. the labels for zones are huge, while the map itself is pretty small comapritively.

The only dev trivia I know about that biome is that there were apparently supposed to be Sea Treaders there at one point. But then again my only source right now is Phaota so I can't be completely sure.

Easiest way to get it early game is to goto the island with the giant gun, go up into the mountain caves and just pick it off the cave walls.

if you come to the island following the radio signal when the other ship is coming to get you, you'll come up on the left ish side. just follow the path up past the entrance to the giant gun building and up into the hills. Inside those many caves are a TON of lithium, shale outcrops, etc.

It can only be accessed by futzing around with console commands, which is something a casual player wouldn't do anyway. It hurts no one by being in the game's files and being obtainable through console. If it was still fully functional, then we'd have an issue, but as it isn't, slow your roll..
