Officer Keen has broadcast a synchronised rendezvous point on the island's beach. He and the Chief Technical Officer make it there. Keen forbids it, it's too dangerous, the aurora may explode and the captain put him in charge of the crew's safety. CTO goes anyway. Keen decides to explore the island, but is eaten by crawlers, or falls to his death.

Also I told you guys that the cables were along used for power transfer! Every time i brought that up it was like: Nah they used to structural support. But this cable running to the teleporter cave basically confirms that. I knew it had to be that. Now I expect that the power transfer wire part in the core of the cables also weave through all of the planet leading to the source of energy, the ILZ. Thats how precursors transfered their power. Now if you excuse me I am going to update the wiki :P

So for one thing the battery storage cubes next to the gun are only connected to the gun by those cables, now even more evidence has arrisen with the path to the mountain cave teleporter because the cable runs into lighting fixtures on the way and eventually will go directly into the teleporter to power it. Why else would they need structural cables running there if they didn't transfer power?!?!

Well this is obviously not wiki material since it has't been confirmed. After writing it out and looking back I was like: "Yeeeaaaaahhh.... That aint gonna fly..." We just need a dev conformation!
Here is what I did write, I haven't saved the edit or anything yet, but this is it:
The power is transferred by means of the precursor cables that can be seen all around the exterior of the bases. While these cables seem to be used for structural support it is implied that they are also used to transfer power from the Precursor Thermal Power Generator to the other bases. Evidence to suggest this include the fact that the cables lead from the power storage cubes along side the Precursor Ground-to-Air Weapon System into the base itself and since the cables are the only thing connecting the battery to the base then it must be transferring power. Another piece of evidence to suggest this is that there is a cable running from the base and through the Mountain Island caves leading to the Precursor teleporter stationed in the cavern chamber, along the way the cable also goes through lighting fixtures seeming to power them. If these cables were only designed for structural support then why would they be running through a cave on land?
