You need a lot more water than food, and swimming in a hot place makes you thirsty. Ditch a few peepers and bring more water.

Alternately bring a few titanium, throw down an exterior grow bed in a place that's easy to get to in your prawn, and farm aerogel like your life depends on it.

But what i would like to know is how the land masses in the game formed to the VERY deep ocean called void, and how do those landmasses stay intact. Becuse if the whole planet otherwise is terrifyingly deep ocean that supports megafauna, and if that's true then it should NOT even be possible for those sectors to exist, because of how thin they are compared to the watermass surrounding them

||1. Firstly, how the hell would gasopods evolve in a thousand years?
2. Why do we see gasopods getting Kharaa anyway?
3. Margaret DID get the enzyme, from the reaper's body, when she had to eat it to survive.
4. Temperature is known to negatively influence the speed of bacterial spreading, thus Sector Zero was less affected, especially since the enzyme reverts the things done to the body, and so a lot of creatures would just heal.
5. Robin not using the enzyme is indeed kind of dumb, but there are many mutations of the virus, if Alterra wanted to weaponize the Kharaa, they can use any other variant, that is not the same as the one at 4546b||

And also it is really slippery to use, let's face it, the lukewarm scenario of the Below Zero to justify the absolute ahh theory.

To add on the previous answer, it's basically loading issue: when you reload a save, only small part of the map around the player/base is loaded and you have to swim around or use camera drones to load more terrain and resources. Basically stuff is in the same place, but they are not loaded yet.
