Several reasons, but here's a generalized info dump:
-The fish only breed in Alien Containment Units, not in Aquariums
-There is a limit for breeding, each ACU in a multipurpose room has 10 slots, and in a large room 18 slots. It stacks if the ACUs are connected vertically. Each fish takes up a number of slots equal to how wide they are in your inventory (edible fish take 1, Mesmers take 2, Stalkers take 3, Reefbacks take 4). If there's at least 1 free slot, they'll breed. This limit is only for breeding, you can have infinite fish if you'd like.

If the seamoth isn't destroyed (beacon still exists), you can maybe dive there with seaglide; you don't need oxygen for getting back to surface since you can refill in seamoth

You can find nickel near both blood kelp entrances, so it doesn't matter which one you use.

RIP Polyphemus. Tried finding a new route around the underwater mountains from my base the the BKZ without looking at a map first and got lost in the void(somehow) and the ghost greeting crew got the sub and very nearly me.
Nice to know they give up the chase the moment you hit the craters edge.

Best way to get over the fear is to fight a leviathan. Once you beat one reaper your confidence for exploring deeper and more dangerous biomes goes up immensely.

I think the flare 'burn timer' only counts when the flare is loaded, meaning you're near it. On the other hand bases are always loaded, so I would expect flares on platforms to be loaded all the time🤷‍♂️

On my second playthrough(yesterday) I got fed up with the ||reaper leviathans|| and crafted a ||stasis rifle|| and got a ton of gas pods and nuked one of them, I met a second one that destroyed my seamoth and I said f it, spammed the ||reaper|| with the ||stasis rifle|| and knifed it to death

I straight up I'm not trying to self promote I swear but if you do watch that video you'll see how to do it and I would highly recommend a grappling arm otherwise half the fight is going to be you chasing them

It's really not hard at all and it's a lot of fun the only tricky thing is repairing the suit mid-fight while you know a reaper is actively hunting you

I didn't know the drill does damage, I though only the base arm does damage

The drill does less damage than the base arm but yes it does do damage. A lot of people prefer the drill to the regular arm but I prefer the regular just because of that and when you're getting rag dolls around by a reaper the drill has a hard time connecting

I don't know if it would work while you're actively damaging the reaper I think it's only supposed to be a distraction. I know some people do carry fish with them and throw them out as a distraction for the reaper while they fight it

I feel like sand sharks should be a far bigger threat than they actually are. The idea of one of those you just popping out at you literally anywhere in the grassy plateaus should add a certain element of danger to an otherwise safe biome. I was terrified as well which is why it took me so long to play this game but the thing that helped me get over a lot of fear was killing a reaper. Once I realized the arguably most intimidating creature in the whole game could get got, well that made me a lot more eager to explore deeper and more dangerous areas.
Also the PDA is not wrong about how a Prawn suit make you feel:
INVINCIBLE

When you get the prawn upgraded, the PDA warns reapers that a single human is in the area, and asks THEM if whatever THEYRE doing is worth it.

The first time I swam out there I was sweating bullets thinking something was going to get me between my life pod and there. A couple times I got pulled under but I think that was just a glitch rather than something attacking me. Still scared me.
