You can make the hull reinforcement module for the seamoth to improve its collision protection against terrain and stuff. Just realize it doesnāt protect against creature attack damage @supple knoll

sunbeam dropoff has these trees on the island called bulbo trees, they have high water content and can be eaten like creepvine (with a knife)
you can even plant their seeds in a growbed or pot in your base to hang onto them

Can you guys figure out why my seamoth falls through the map because when I go to the gun if I park my seamoth normally when I come back it's not there then I see the locator tag going lower and lower and this happens every time can you help me fix this

You can find Mark 1 in the aurora, or make one if you have the blueprints for moonpool and vehicle upgrade console
And to upgrade them further you need a modification station

Moonpool and power cell charger use the same calculation for charging speed; it depends on the total capacity in the charger (i.e. charging prawn uses energy faster than charging seamoth, because 2 power cells vs. 1)

You need some equipment or vehicle to dive to 200-250 m (cave entrance is around 100m, but the main cave is deeper)

You can go with seamoth or just swim there
For some exploring of jellyshroom cave, seamoth without upgrades can be used: drive it to 190m or so and continue with seaglide. Seamoth helps to get air supply closer than the surface. With seamoth depth module mk1 you can explore the whole cave.

It is an optional quest, if you want to find out what happened to them you can make them priorities. Or you can stumble into it by accident, also no problem.

putting a small base at the entrance of each of the really dangerous reaper biomes has served me well. I ended up adding a large room to the left and a moonpool to the north, and grow beds outside for creepvine cluster and blood oil, mushrooms, etc. 2 water filtration units and an alien containment for stalkers and edible fish

if you enter mushroom forest near the front of the aurora wreck on the port side (before you meet the reaper leviathan) there's a bunch of good resources and fragments right there. lithium grows on the mushroom trees which you'll need

get stalker eggs and metal scrap, hatch the eggs in a containment, take the stalkers outside and use a grav trap to force them to pick up the scrap
you will need to go deeper, but only about 300m
in the grassy plateus, at about 90m, you can find large pits that lead into a new biome with purple ambient light
magnetite can be found lying about on the ground in this area
the entrances are mostly on the borders between grassy plateaus and kelp forest
i recommend exploring the underwater islands wreck or scanning the one in the final ||degasi base|| to get the blueprint

the way it spawns is similar to quartz found in caves
also I canāt find cyclops engine parts, and propulsion cannon
searched the mushroom forests like 6 million times
almost got jumped by a ||reaper||
prop cannon is found in various wrecks, the grassy plateus seem to be particularly rich in them
engine frags can be found in the underwater islands wreck, crag fields, or back of the aurora (creature danger)
and they hunt by sound, so if you can hear it, it can see you
lol it's not usually a big deal, they are more territorial than anything
you need mod station first
i think you unlock mk2 when you have mk1 and mod station blueprint

Mountain is unfortunately can be very dark, I remember driving my cylops and then turn it off because it is really dark and I don't want the hassle of dealing with that reddish giant eel.
Just seconds after, the tail of that particular giant reddish eel appear on my cyclops window

i reduced one in the lava lakes
so therefore it has no leviathan anymore
(theres 3 sea dragon 2 in inactive lava zone 1 in lava lakes)

This game is over a decade old and you have yet to solve this problem
Sea Traders phase through the floor. If I am more afraid of leviathans being permanently lost and stuck than I am being killed, you aren't doing a very good job of updating your game

They fixed the clipping with mobile vehicle bay in that update
I never had a single issue with that. Even back when I played on PS4

Why is it glowing so much
The sand sharks silt mixed with the creepvine light makes an effect that is incredible.
I use the game's assets to paint. I want to love it and make it the best it can be, and then a Reaper just un alives itself into the Aether and there is nothing I can do to solve the problem.

I really hope you're right. The reason I love Subnautica so much is that it is a game that the devs wanted to make. The sound design alone has more passion than a Bjork album. I hate it when something as basic as walls not working has been a consistent problem since launch. I also hate that the problem has never been addressed by the people responsible.

I'm doing all this where the mountains meet the bulb zone. I'm learning the hard way that Reapers want Ampeels dead more than Unknown Worlds wants to kill functional walls.

I'd recommend searching for fragments and hoarding blueprints
Make a repair tool if you haven't already and fix the radio in your lifepod. Keep listening to radio broadcasts as they will point you to useful data boxes and blueprints.

Focus on finding as many wrecks, blueprints and upgrades as you can. The best are the scanner room and the scanner room HUD chip. having those will allow you to build mini bases and find any resource you need.

Collisions are disabled on purpose when they're outside of the player's range.
A mod can change the clipmapping settings, but the developer has to comply with the maximum of hardware possible.
So yes modders can do more.
And it isn't due to incompetence.
what is the problem with:
- adding a setting that disables that
- i think u can still detect when they are touched so enabling collision if they are touched by a creature until the touch ends
- also stopping all creatures from moving when they are outside of the player's range
- teleporting creatures / leviathans if they are stuck there for longer than X seconds (not close to player tho)
How would you detect they're out of bounds? There is no real difference.
The setting disables collisions at higher level of details.

Having collisions at higher levels means you have to prevent the downsampling of the mesh, which is still a performance killer.

Also, creatures have a leash. They'll try to come back to that leash position. So they'll naturally come back out of bounds. The behavior FleeOnDamage rewrites the leash position though.
Ie: if you hurt a creature forcing it to go out of bounds, it will probably stay there because it's the location of its new leash.
An end game creature that likes to go out of bounds doesn't have its leash position rewritten by this behavior. So it won't stay out of bounds indefinitively (5:37).
But that isn't the case for the reaper / ghost.
If a game just puts everything in stasis outside oof range, then this 'clipping' issue wouldnt happen according to your logic, yet it happens all the time even within range. You fly over one of the mushroom forests, andd you litterally can get a the giant squid for instance, come from the bloodkelp through the floor, b lineing it to you. There should 100%^be barriors to prevent AI from clipping like this

Picking up the PDA from the video will grey out the Prawn Suit blueprint with 0/20. It shouldn't be an issue to unlock as they are two different counters, but it is still confusing.
The reason it displays 0/20 is because the claw arm fragment could previously be scanned.
You would need 20 fragments to unlock the Prawn Suit itself.

If you scanned four, you should have the blueprint and not show 0/20. You probably only scanned 3 in Auroraš¤·āāļø
Out of bounds I'm afraid. The way it works is that you have slots, which are invisible placeholders in the map and the game spawns resources in their place with a set of rules called the entity distribution (weighted RNG).
Slots were automatically generated on the map using a script, once the level designers were done with the landscape.
Problem is, sometimes slots were generated, the level designer changed the landscape and didn't run the script again.
So slots are still where the old landscape was.
It doesn't happen often in the starting areas but the more endgame you go the more out of bound slots you might find.

You'll find propulsion cannon on the left side, and maybe one or two engine if you're lucky.

Not exactly same: hitting shroom once destroys it and gives 4 spores. Hitting gel sack gives one spore and third hit will destroy it. If you hit gel sack twice, pick it up and replant it, you can again hit it twice for two spores and repeat to get infinite spores from one gel sack

There seem to be some really bad bugs related to memory management on the PS\XB versions which can lead to things despawning or respawning, it's an issue with memory management on the consoles which developers can't easily address and the problems it causes are extremely hard to reproduce on a dev kit
I should try that, verifying game files didnt show anything unfortunately, even tried moving the lifepod 4 databox with a propulsion cannon to make sure its not on the pda
I will say I didn't run into related issues on my PC\Steam run. And every game I've worked on, the Steam version outperformed the windows store, PS, and Xbox versions by a lot and was far easier to work on

Crag fields is one of my favorites. i killed allllllllll of the bone sharks in a neverending seamoth joust, proving my superiority. i gathered enough eggs to repopulate them later

Grassy Plateaus is one of the best biomes for a safe base
But I like making bases that keep watch on the dangerous biomes
The bulb zone feels chill, warm yet tense and cold... And so alien too i LOVE it

My last playthrough I made a great base on the underwater islands. But I tried powering it with thermal plants from the seafloor and they kept losing connection. Very frustrating.

I like power sources that I can just set and forget. Bioreactors, I have to constantly check, and I find myself doing the same with nuclear, even though Iāve never had to swap a rod.

I like building next to one of the geysers (thereās those thermal plants again). Itās deeper, it borders the northern grassy plateaus as well as a kelp forest. Good variety, easy access.

On the other hand, using āghostā mode to build a massive base inside the hollow space inside the Aurora model: win!
it lets me build a foundation platform on top of the cyclops D:
player building collision & the ability to leap out of the water or climb up structures is amazingly poor in this game, so building above water feels very tedious and difficult
it is doable - i've reached the yellow stripe on the hull. but the order of operations is challenging to get right and if you make certain mistakes, like falling off at the wrong time, yuo'd have to start over at extreme, extreme effort
if you deconstruct a downward-facing hatch from inside an I-tube, for example, you can't finish deconstructing it, and you can't construct an upward-facing hatch in the same segment, and there's no way to finish deconstructing that hatch or deconstruct the i-tube that it's in. this feels fairly unresolvable without abandoning the whole project or starting over by trashing the whole thing
even though you can see the ghost building, pressing Q won't progress the deconstruction from any angle.
and building an overhead hatch is not possible while the below-hatch still exists.
so I'm in this situation and can't think of a feasible way to fix it
if I make a side hatch, I can deconstruct about 10% of the bottom hatch as I fall out the door, lmao
K, I solved it by building a T-section off the side and placing a hatch on one of the ends, which gives a hatch with a platform. I stood on that and was able to remove the scaffolds

The sea moth has a sonar pulse module that has enough range to identify leviathans before you are in range to get attacked by them. By using that and the audio cues you can explore in the dark water without being too too afraid
Also, being close to the bottom of the sea gives you some defensive boundary as you won't have to watch in as many directions for large threats

Most of the monsters short of leviathans are cowardly and weak. Smack em once and they run away
Just make sure ur handling o2/food/wate/med packs correctly

Crash fish feel more aggressive than most enemies (short of leviathans). Idk pre sea glide more likely to get hit by crash fish and for that hit to actually matter than other monsters (non leviathans) post sea glide.
I have not once died to crash fish on my survival
On my hard-core however, all deaths involved a crashfish..
My first ever survival i died, after that i think it only ever lowered me enough i had to play it safe till new med pack came out

I was playing with audio off in a hardcore while making thermal plants and didnāt realize the heat was killing me

Yeah with reinforced dive suit the heat warning is ignoreable most of the time
I was actually there for a minute or two trying to place foundation and plants just right, and most of the time had the heat warning just didnāt matter till I was actually too close
thankfully lost river is neither extremely dark nor extremely vast. sonar is very effective in there. bring 2-3 extra vehicle batteries and plenty of water. you'll be fine for food in there with the thermoblade
fun fact, you can kill crash fish with your knife as soon as they pop out if you're pro

U r looking at modification station right? Should automatically unlock when u unlock the mk1 blueprint for cyclops. The mk1 will be in cyclops fab, mk2 and mk3 in mod station

No, the cyclops fabricator only has the mk1 module
All upgrades are in the mod station
I suppose u could also have less than 11 if ur missing other blueprints (ie tank, repulsion, etc). But u seem pretty far along and the mod blueprints arenāt too hard to get
technically it's only while you are in a base, if you are actually above water it's changed to a steaming effect
and this is due to the particles being attached to the knife model and the model change trigger only being your depth

get new resources, build a base there, investigate the thingy (impossible to miss, big green block thingy, clearly not natural)
make depth module, dive deeper to cave system underneath green area, entrance depth 900m
warm area, follow your pda's instructions
dive even deeper
listen to her
come to her
from then on, you will know what to do

the game will pretty much guide you once you get deep enough
