As mentioned, infection triggers for player are location based. Fish outside safe shallows have 5% chance of being spawned infected. If you est infected fish, nothing happens (except normal gain of food/water)

As for why it only has undiscovered eggs I'm pretty sure it's just for them to have a way to quickly change the blacklist with the way it was implemented. As I said earlier now you can remove / add an item without having to upgrade the game.

I'd suggest you explore important biomes, like the grand reef, ||lost river||, or wrecks you find in any such biomes. Scan stuff, and yeah also go for the alien bases

Just keep trying to go deeper. That's the (really) short answer but to finish, you have to go extremely deep. You need to go through the ||lost river||, ||inactive lava zone|| and ||active lave zone||. Go deeper and explore the alien bases essentially.

and yes when i exit it i will still be walking on water and cant enter seamoth or any building

i can only use cyclops stuff like driving it or upgrades
