this is a common bug in the RotA mod, the devs are working on a patch to fix it, however at the moment the Egg still sometimes bugs out

What you can try is this:

1. Save the game and leave to main menu
2. exit the game completley
3. restart the game and go into a new save
4. quite out of the new save (you can literally just be in the lifepod you need to do nothing)
5. restart your game
6. enter your old save

This doesnt work always but it works most of the time
