||For some context, in the base game there is an alien base in the dunes within a meteor crater. There is a pda download that says as such about a member of the architects:

My theory is that the described architect is Al-An. I mean what better reason for him to be stored in the sanctuary than his body having been infected and disposed of? It mentions in the wiki that a potential reason for him keeping his thoughts and mind going while being stored could be because he was a leader of the kharaa research team. What better person have that kind of status than someone quoted to be the youngest initiate into the temple of research? The only thing I can think of that is a solid counter to this is the fact that in the wiki, the sanctuary Al-An is stored in is called "Sanctuary Zero", but I don't know if thats just humanity/the games name for it or the actual name the architects gave it, cause if its not the name the architects gave it, then sanctuary zero could be sanctuary 3, and the humans who initially found it just called it sanctuary zero.||
