The code is irrelevant actually in this error because it's Unity bound. Please read the above links. It seems this is a Unity bug regarding UIElements. The system doesn't seem production ready.

I don't have a detailed idea of why it occurs, but mostly for me it occurs after alt tabbing too many times to my IDE very quickly, and then when it has to recompile everytime, perhaps then it triggers an issue, no idea.

I already tried re-importing packages. I only have UIElements, 2D, and the new input system as packages which I have their recommended versions for

Yes, but the error re-appears. I've decided to just not have the SO open when I'm transitioning between Editor and Game.

It's a serialization issue BTW. VisualElements have issue with the references being handled properly when switching between Editor and Game.
