#More relics like Black Rose and Sword of Seven Suns, less like Songbow and Idol

When 1.0 launched I really thought that relics and grips would represent a way to customize your character to suit your playstyle, and there's a bit of that. But I also think that for most characters, like in Open Beta, there is just a 'meta build', where high-rank players they will 'solve' the character and find out what build WINS and everything else is just bad.

Black Rose, Seven Suns, Longclaw Optics all have one thing that I think should have come standard on all armory items: tradeoffs. The fact that NO CDR items come with these sorts of tradeoffs is absolutely wild to me. Where's the -30% dash haste on Isochron?

I also think the variety of perks is nice, but they should maybe have more power put into them and taken out of the grips and relics. It should matter if you buy perks besides the ones with massive utility like Contract Killer and Prisma Collector. So many of them likely don't even get used at all.

I'd love to build a Longclaw optics Felix with a crazy long range flamethrower but I don't because I'd be shooting myself in the foot. I have to wonder why it has to be this way?

TL;DR CDR is still broken, everything should have tradeoffs, weird builds should still make for winnable fights

I actually hate the kiss/curse items in an armory environment. They feel so bad to build until 3 star since you get the full penalty at rank 1 and only like half the benefit. If I didn't have to find 9 copies of black rose before I'd get the actual expected level of trade off I'd be more interested.

oh yeah also in theory idol does have a drawback but in practice it just doesn't matter that much since you can stack it with dash as well as whatever ability you want to put the cdr on. i think it'd be a pretty different item if you could only stack it with the chosen ability as you'd be punished a lot more for actually using stuff. as is, you basically are back to full stacks after one cd rotation since most people get two dashes + their chosen ability anyway and you only lose 5 stacks.

thats a skill issue if you figure out what pairs well with what abilities it entirely depends on your ability to execute the required actions for it to become your personal meta
