I recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU and RAM, and since then I've been randomly crashing when in matches. (not a slow error-y crash, it's like the process is just ended). I'm not getting this problem with other games. I've tried every solution I've seen other people with this problem try (Updating drivers, using DX11, Enabling secure boot, resetting the directX shader cache, disabling discord overlay and nordvpn, forcing the game to run off my gpu, Lowering graphics settings) with no success. I do not crash when on main menu or practice lobbies. Someone please help!
#Constantly crashing when in matches

Update: i just left a practice lobby and had the crash happen for the first time (from a practice lobby)
any chance I can get a copy of your logs? I can help your diagnose the root cause
this is still happening since early beta (i quit the game cause of the crashing), has anyone figured anything out? i have a gtx 1080. I've tried going to DX11 and the crashing happens less but still happens randomly, but always with the luck when I'm so close to getting a win.
no crash logs just instant close
could you let me know where the crash logs are located if these aren't them
Looking at your crashlogs.. they all seem to crash on directX / GPU
at D:\TheoryCraft\build-prev\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Commands.cpp```
I would try:
* Fully uninstall your GPU driver.
* Install latest version of the Studio Driver (not the Game Ready)
* Make sure your Power Settings are set to high performance
* Try running without the -DX11 command line parameter. your GPU should support DX12
If this all fails, it might be either a hardware issue with a fautly GPU, temperature issue or power delivery that is making it appear as removed/crashed
Thanks. I installed studio and testing dx12 now with high power settings all low settings
@high pulsar check C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\SUPERVIVE\Saved\Logs
so game crashed about 1 night into game
alot faster than usual definately think it has to do with directx. it seemed when i used dx11 it lasted a few games before crashing
LogD3D12RHI: Error: GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed.
I wonder if it's a power supply issue
it almost looked like my screen tried switching to my alt monitors for a second and also my audio switched to my TV. i dont have my dual monitors enabled but when it crashed kinda looked like a flicker reset
yep, that occurs when the GPU driver crashes and it has to reset
ok
i mean ive used this PC for years with no power supply issues i bought the correct PSU for a gtx1080
could be a over heat issue with the GPU blasting not sure why supervive is killing me so much tho
with everything on low

these steps might help?

I'll try it out thanks I'll let u know when I get back to testing
should be able to monitor your temp as well via Task Manager
so GPU gets to like 65 C. i did notice it did spike to 100%usage. right after the crash. I crashed 3 times in 1 game its happening more than before. going to go back to -dx11 and see how that works
i did the regedit changes but theres no Tdrdelay or Tdrlevel entrys like the guy in the video im guessing i have to add them?
yeah, you have to add them if they are not there
i went back to dx11 no crash yet... yet is the key word.
TBH windows temp monitoring sucks for many if not most cards, and it also ignores hotspot & memory temperature, would be better off with any dedicated software
I suggest disabling hardware acceleration for Discord & your internet browser and seeing if it lowers the amount of crashes
Finally got some free time to check here, this is what it says in those logs
[0804/191944.454:ERROR:gpu_init.cc(426)] Passthrough is not supported, GL is disabled
the same thing in every .log file
And i have Hardware Acceleration off so that's not it
do i need to enable it? is it crashing because its off?
also found this in the crashes folder, maybe it'll help diagnose
A buddy of mine had the same exact issue. He's a computer guy. Said he had to boot to his BIOS and enable some different RAM setting. Try tinkering there.
@dull garden I was close to thinking it had fixed. 2 days no crashes. until this morning. always on the at the end of the game too lol right when I'm about to clutch up.
iim going to try hardware accel for discord and chrome. i dont run chrome usually while playing but maybe its doing stuff in the background. do you know if there are other programs i would need to disable as well like steam?
Not really, those are the ones that are first suspects.
i could see it being discord causing the issues
nah crashed again i guess my card isn't cut out for SV. very annoying since i literally crash with no other game. only the game i want to play happens to be bad
well, could you try to play some other UE 5.X games? UE5 is known to be like 'I paid for the 100% of the GPU, I'm going to use the 100% of the GPU!' so it might be overheating.
I'd use Open Hardware Monitor with logging on to see the hotspot and memory temperatures.
If those seem to be high-ish, I'd consider a bit of underclocking.
i updated to windows 11 and now the game SEEMS to have stopped crashing, but my steam overlay doesnt work any more
what da fuq
yes its enabled both generally through steam and specifically for supervive
nvm it is still crashing
i had task manager open and ready to check if there was a spike in cpu or memory usage this time though
and there was not
what there was was a spike in internet usage??
Wait no i checked again
and gpu does this when it crashes
Well the task manager graph is poo water as mentioned before, I'd like to see proper temperatures monitoring :c
do you have a reccomended software to do so?
I suggested it there
