#Stuttering/Massive FPS drops that coincide with network jitter

Ever since the beta, I've been getting massive stuttering/fps drop spikes that last like half a second. I noticed when the fps drop spike happens, the network jitter also spikes really high too. I can't tell if it's internet or hardware or driver related.

It happens several times a game, and it doesn't seem like it was fixed with the v1.0 release. I've tried updating to the latest drivers, and I've also tried deleting the local shader cache, but that hasn't stopped the issue unfortunately.

I dunno if it will help, but heres my logs folder

hmm can you post more footage but with all of the UI Performace graphs on?

new logs file after those clips if needed

I don't think it's network related..

I see a lot of log spam that looks like

[2025.07.31-23.57.32:588][443]LogD3D12RHI: Warning: GPU timeout: A payload (0x000002A67649A600) on the [0x000002A503CF68C0, 3D] queue has not completed after 7.786394 seconds.```

This tells me that the GPU and/or GPU driver are stalling and backlogged.
I'm also noticing that Stardock Fences and DisplayFusion are installed and they have injected themselves into the game app.

I would try the following
* Reinstall your GPU driver, perhaps test out with the Studio version of the Nvidia Driver vs the Game Ready one as that one is more reliable
* Follow these steps to delete your local shader caches https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/c-Category_Fortnite/c-Fortnite_TechnicalSupport/fortnite-stutters-heavily-and-has-below-expected-performance-on-directx-12-a000088950?sessionInvalidated=true
* Disable Fences and DisplayFusion
* Make sure your PC Power Settings are set to Performance in the windows power management settings
* Reset to defaults on the Nvidia Control Panel

ok I'll try the stuff out later and see if it helps!

I uninstalled the 2 programs, uninstalled old drivers with DDU, and installed the latest studio drivers. I also changed all the setting recommendations and deleted the cache. Unfortunately it still happens. Weirdly I think the stutters are less "severe" now though.

Can I get a copy of your latest logs?

I have had these issues too I'd like to add. I'm playing in the APAC servers from Malaysia. I feel like sometimes my inputs are missed. I've had gliders completely stop working in the abyss forcing me to look at my character instead of around me :/

Also, im testing out the glider feathering tech in practice range and sometimes the input seems to be missed.

I've tried with exitlag because my ISP is notoriously bad (I had to pay for exitlag for a year because my ISP has really bad packet loss for all games 12 hours a day. Exitlag has solved most of these issues) and it still happens from time to time. I'd like to know if it's my network issue or something else :/

I think? it seems to be fixed. I'm not sure what I changed to fix it, but i played for a bit and it didnt seem to happen. I think one thing I did was disable the discord game overlay and legacy overlay

oh I also turned off "hardware accelerated GPU scheduling" in windows 11

I turned mine off too but it didn't help :/ i think it's network related in my case

yeah it's 100% the jitter causing missed movement inputs/camera jitter when dashing too

#

It happens mostly when there is a lot of butting pressing/abilities being used, so in teamfights

#

my FPS drops to 40 on the FPS meter and I stutter for like half a second worth of frames, only to realise none of my inputs during that time were seen by the game

#

I tried using DirectX11, playing on lowest settings, nothing helped

#

where do I find my logs?

viral thorn
#

P.S. they also coincide with network jitter for me

indigo oyster
#

press windows button + R, it will open a run window, then put in:
%localappdata%\SUPERVIVE\Saved

#

then zip up the logs folder

#

making a short video of the problem with the performance graphs up probably helps the devs figure it out

viral thorn
#

alr, I'll do it after my match

found it

Im having the same issue, after the latest hotfix my game in both desktop and laptop got a massive performance drop, i cant get 60 FPS steady anymore

indigo oyster
#

it might be better to make a new thread for problems, im not sure if the devs are checking this one out 😓

indigo anvil
#

having this problem too

#

i've also been facing some issues with terrain pop in at the beginning of matches. cost me so many games and it's just not fun watching my little guy pop in and out of existence.

Somehow the stutter has gone away for a few days then comes back so i have no idea what causes/fixes it.
Other games are running fine

Hi! I have been having stutters aswell. I tried reinstalling windows 11 pro, updating drivers, i have a new build with a powercolor rx 9070, ryzen 7700, Lexar 32GB 6000mt's. I have run memtest84, cinebench and furmark to test the hardware which seems to be fine. It's also only happening in supervive. The game is also installed on a pretty new NVME SSD Drive.

I get the stutters aswell and the only fix that worked for me was updating the engine.ini with a few settings that chatgpt suggested. I input the loki.log i got there and chatgpt told me to it's a VRAM issue. As the game was missing stable pipeline cache files. This is a direct link to the conversation i had. The proposed changes helped alot!

it seemed to have worked yesterday but this no longer works and the stutter is competely back

#

i have no clue why

#

the file gets reset on launch anyways so that's not going to work
