#WARMUP mode Feedback discussion

Let us respec lvl 4 ability on character swap. It's peak otherwise
The good :
- Fun and choatic
- Fast fights
- No macro, pure warmup
- No respawn delay when you die
- Being able to choose your items
- Having a better armor when you kill streak
- Good choice of maps.
The bad :
- Maybe a little bit too much ppl in the same lobby, chaos is fun, but it's maybe too much.
- KP passive stacks are kept even if you switch your hunter.
- Being able to roll the soulstealer item.
- The huge lag spike when someone leaves the lobby.
What i would change/add :
- Upon killing someone, refund 25% of your remaining ultimate cooldown. (Except maybe Brall)
- Remove a total of 5 players slots per lobby.
- LVL4 reset ability upon changing your hunter.
Honestly I think it’s pretty damn fun, I think adding weird balancing or refunds takes away from the fact it’s supposed to be something to do in que.
I also kind of like how chaotic it is with all the players
Imo it might be a little too many people in a lobby. Can feel more like a stress/limit-test than warmup. A bit overwhelming. But its a great mode for training mechanics and its fairly enjoyable too (just as I said also a bit stressful).
Also, having to manually upgrade the items at the beginning seems unnecessary. Would rather just choose the item and evolution like in arena.
And lvl 4 ability choice when switching hunter as others have mentioned.
I know its supposed to be a warmup but im having fun in it nonetheless
Suggest:
-maybe not the right direction. If this becomes an actual mode (YIPEEE)
-Powers, a one time use~
warmup has felt more fun than the actual game LOL
Warm up mode is fun in very small bursts but it is very much not more fun than the actual game

ya i mean we are both just stating our opinions
its alot of fun but after the 5-10 minute mark it just gets kinda meh. I think it does a really good job at what its name impiles, warming up your micro for the game. But on its own, theres nothing that makes it interesting to play for a longer period of time.
Played it for 4 hours yesterday, felt completely addicted. This is bad because I wanna get better at BR but if I have to choose between soloqueue and sweaty fast-paced deathmatch I'll go warmup each day of the year
They should remove 3-5 players from the max amount of the lobby tho
For a warmup mode its quite good to warm up to. Reminds me of the sanctum sanctorum in marvel rivals. Funny to mess around in.
Ya i think as a warm up, its perfect. I just cant agree with other above that its better than actually playing br. Its baically a party game by comparision.
Reminds me of BapBap (which I kinda used as a warm up for vive a few times)
I'd say remove the deathboxes

Had a warmup game where I had a celest bot in my party that I could revive with beacon
On a certain map(s?) you can run to a shop outside ring and buy boots etc.
I think they should make it so whenever someone gets more than 5 kills they get revealed on the map
what's the point ?
you already get focused when you have a gold armor
and if you play only hide and seek, it's just not an issue
i want to hunt whoever has the most kills
and its kinda hard doing that whenever there is 1 billion people fighting in my screen
You can buy boots from any location using the remote shop keybind (normally set to v)

I've been very curious about player density. Right now we have a max at 20 which I agree seems a little high. I'll adjust this today. Let me know how it feels over the next few days.
Level 4 resets/hitch on player leave is already on my list. KP passive reset is something I'll add a bug for.
I'm kind of in the same boat here. This mode is fun. I also think we are still very much in the novel period. I want to make sure I hear feedback once this mode just becomes the "norm" rather than a shiny new toy.
It's great for passing the time in queue, waiting for friends to get online, learning new characters or different areas of the map BUT I think it lacks the strategic loop a lot of players enjoy.
We have debated on "gamifying" it a bit more with intragame progression (think EVO armor but more systems that make you stronger the better you are performing) but for now wanted to keep it more in line with a true "deathmatch feel" like COD/TF2/etc...
If people continue to enjoy it (and I ever find the time), I think it offers an interesting avenue for mini games to add some variety to the matches. (big team battle, king of the hill, capture the flag). No promises on that one though since there is just so much we need to prioritize before doing something like that.
I say all that, even though this thing is my baby and has been a bit of a passion project for me, so I'm all for enthusiasm for the mode 😄
@bronze swan Would it be at all possible to allow us to set the default items we want to start with in arena and warmup? It's a little tedious dropping items at the start of every warmup. It was a frustration for arena too, but there it takes so little time. I don't mean the upgrades, but for example choose to always start with "mana blade + vampiric blade" on ghost
it's a very good mode for SV, many ppl were waiting for this, and you and the TC team delivered well !
Adding the mode in is a huge W imo. I think it works in terms of fun because there's no real stakes, I worry that adding on a bunch of systems to it will just make it feel more frustrating when you inevitably lose because of rng.
My whole pitch for this was "we have to do kinda egregious things with skill disparity (how wide we go on skill) when making matches, the sure fire way to alleviate that is if we increase queue times, what if waiting in queue wasn't such a chore?" Boom let's make an in queue mode

It's really awesome and saves me the boredom of waiting in queue. Really glad to have it in the game!
Love the mode and how good it is for praticing new stuff. The only downside for me is how it increased arena queue times
Yeah I think the RNG is player spawns/third partying so we can never rid it in FFA. I think anything frustrating is alleviated because stakes are so low.
The respawn now button came about because a member of the dev team was raging when dying at times. They just wanted an outlet to "move on" which is exactly what the respawn button did. It's funny how something so simple can be a release valve for getting frustrated in a mode like this.
ya exactly. being able to instantly get back in the fight reduces frustration so much (along with the fact that you havent really "lost" anything). Even when you get into lobbys with higher skilled players, its not a big deal because you can just instantly "go next" over and over again
ok warmup matches should start to cap at 15 now. Let me know if it feels better or worse.
Warm up mode is amazing ive wanted something like this forever as someone whose hundreds of hours onto cs ffa dms
Major W here. I do currently enjoy the warmup mode more than anything else as there aren't currently the checks and balances we should expect from a ranked mode (nuance applied: not a high enough player base etc etc)
So this is perfect for me until 1.0
The ranked ladder has no integrity so having this game mode where I can actually regularly play with my friends is so much fun! Really great delivery on this so far.
Maybe a kill leaderboard for warmups would be cool

Warmup should just remain warmup imo, it doesn't need extra features or to be made serious

It's really well executed at the moment, minus the stuff that needs fixing but that's known and changes are coming which is great

I had a 30/0 game in a lobby with the best players from EU that I didn't screenshot so I get it q:^)
After game there is a leaderboard unless you meant you missed screenshotting that.
I missed screenshotting it so now i want stats style leaderboard in main menu

Alright. Now that warmup was capped at 15 players per match in warmup for the weekend, what are your thoughts?
Feels a but less chaotic, I think it's a bit better with 15
Also think it's a bit better than before. Even 1 or 2 more would be fine probably but the current number is good.
can you make deathboxes not drop on death.. sometimes when i join a lobby there are so many.. like so many

i would be really okay with the old system
however i think yall already achieved the perfect balance with normals having the resurrection thing and ranked being like before
