I'm just asking and hoping it'll work out. It's my dream to be a voice actor one day, and I absolutely love this game. So, I figured I'd shoot my shot in the most unprofessional way possible. I don't have any voice acting references, but I do have quite a bit of experience in professional musical theatre. I've made content for the game on my YouTube channel (took a break because of life things but coming back soon), and it would honestly be a dream come true if I was given the opportunity. Hell, I'd work for free if it meant I could voice act for this game. Anyways, that's all I've got and sorry if this is super cringe, but I just had to try. As a final message, TC Devs, please give this hopeful (if a bit foolish) dreamer chance. Thank you.

Maybe try to send something there : https://jobs.lever.co/theorycraftgames/598cb8e2-791a-4e53-a6e1-9066bff2428d
I talked to Jess a while back about sending my demo reel in and it turns out they'll only work with people in SAG-AFTRA - The actor's union that costs $2k usd to enter.
Sorry king, unless you're in there and are REALLY good at what you do I don't think there's a shot.
Then I guess I'll just have to ask a whole bunch. Wear 'em down
So, time to start this chain. Day 2 of asking TC to hire me as a voice actor
Worth noting that you may run get shut out due to the part of #📜│rules message about "no job/internship applications on Discord".
This is hardly a job application. This is a foolish man with a dream
I recognize that, but everything similar has gotten the same result.
I'm not going to stop you from trying (largely because I have no authority to do so even if I cared to), but just as a heads up.
I mean, I don't think the union thing is because they're elitists or need to be worn down. I think it's a legal thing - hiring outside the union gets you in trouble with said union because it erodes workers (actors) ability to leverage better conditions vs. Devs and studios. Your willingness to undersell, while just earnest excitement on your part, demonstrates how less scrupulous companies could underpay and exploit people like you, and in doing so worsen wages and working conditions for everyone in that industry.
That's not a comfort to you trying to get a start, especially for industries where union membership is more prestigious or expensive like sag, but those barriers for entry are ultimately good things.
I was trying to find a way to explain this, thanks for chiming in Pete. Solid information.
Please don't do this. I respect you and support you on your journey as a voice actor, but please take my advice as someone actually in the entertainment industry.
All this will achieve is making you a supreme annoyance to a prospective employee. Keep working hard, and with a bit of luck? Who knows.
In what way does it take 2k to enter?
I haven’t done a bunch of research into SAG, but I didn’t really see anything about $2,000
