#Paste image to terminal ?
9 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Currently, Warp does not support pasting images directly into the terminal using Cmd+V (or Ctrl+V). The feature you’re describing—where you can simply paste a screenshot or image into the terminal input—is not available in Warp at this time.
There are several user requests and discussions about supporting image display and inline image protocols (like those used by iTerm2 or Kitty), but as of now, this is not implemented in Warp. Users have expressed that this is a highly desired feature, and the Warp team is aware of the demand, but it is considered a significant engineering effort and is not available yet. The only related functionality mentioned is the "Upload Image" option, which is not the same as direct paste via Cmd+V or Ctrl+V. If you need to work with images in the terminal, you may need to use other terminals that support this feature for now Support Kitty Image Protocol / MIME Types / Rendering.
If you want to see this feature in Warp, you can add your support to the relevant feature requests on their GitHub to help prioritize its development.
Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
@vague blade Kapa.ai is still learning and improving, please let me know how I did by reacting below.
@vague blade you can select the image when you have Agent mode enabled by clicking on the image icon, then select the image with the file picker. There isnt a way to copy/paste the image as context at this time, but its on our roadmap.
This is such a Quality of Life feature... for debugging it`s so much easier and smoother to just paste it in the chatbox... Looking forward to it big time 😉
I think @pearl spire may be working on this 🙏
yes, this is on our roadmap and we're working on prioritizing this work up - thanks for the feedback!
+1 this is a really crucial feature that I sorely need in my workflow - all other LLMs have conditioned us to work this way now as native
update: we have an engineer actively working on this!
