Hi! So currently I have Warp as a pacman repo to get auto updates, which is really cool. But with the announcement of Warp Alpha, I want to switch to it. Is there a way to do so while keeping the auto update?

Hi @jaunty swallow. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Sorry @jaunty swallow, I seem to be having a bit of trouble. Don't worry though, I've pinged my support and they will try to fix me up! :technologist:

Perhaps try again in 15mins?

Also, I can't seem to find Warp Alpha, only Preview..?

Hey, There is Warp Preview, not Alpha, we've been out of alpha for many years now.

#

I recommend you install Preview by downloading at https://www.warp.dev/download-preview

Then further updates shoud be from within the app like normal.

Oh, what is it then?

💡 What’s new:
Warp Preview: A fresh build with early access to cutting-edge features.
Warp Alpha: For the most dedicated Preview users, we’re offering unlimited AI access and exclusive perks.

The Alpha program is invite only and for dedicaed Warp Preview users

Interesting I'm seeing it in Arch. I insalled with sudo pacman -U <warp-preview_file>

Hmmm, weird

#

Does it change something that I'm on KDE?

Not sure, i'm using gnome, maybe requires a restart or something.

Also afaik if you have the repository setup you may be able to update with sudo pacman -Sy warp-terminal-preview

@jaunty swallow from Eng team:

yes, people can use their package managers, but there’s a different repository than the stable one. like with stable, we’ll automatically configure the repo when they install the preview build

#

So it doesn't work not, since we are working on this, but when released running sudo pacman -Sy warp-terminal-preview should work
