Shared various little snapshots of this, took a few hours this morning to combine all those screenshots into one huge piece ...

This was built in our new 1.0 world. It has been changed and adapted and expanded as needed, but I feel we're in a position to say "it's complete".

We're still missing some armours. We still haven't decorated much. We've still got seasonal content stuff to grind for.

Sharing for all to view/comment.

Amazing base, question for you on the forge part in lower left corner. Could you explain what exactly that does and how it works, i've never seen anything like that

That is a smelter/auto-sorter. It takes a common point of input, moves ores from that input and places them into the smelters/forges ... then when they are done it takes the bars and puts them into the corresponding chests. #⚡-circuitry has all kinds of tips and setups for making auto-sorters

ok sorry one last question, what's the logic on how bars are separated into the different chests? I tried a setup like this but everything just seems to go into the first chest. Do you have to fill every slot of a chest with 1 bar or is there some other way i don't know about? Thanks

yes, you need every slot in each "filled", now this can either be at least 1 of the item the that chest holds.. or a slot for the item and 'non-sorted filler' like dirt

#

for example, either of these setups would work for the solarite chest

#

so the idea is, the arm dropping has two options ...

  • 1: add the dropped item to an existing stack of that item inside the chest
  • 2: drop the item to the ground because the chest is 'full' (which allows the drill to snag it for the next chest)
#

and then when you "withdraw" items.. you must always ensure all spaces are full ( grab the stack, right click to deposit one bar back)

#

in the examples above the top chest can hold up to 9999 x36 bars (359,964 bars!!)... the bottom chest will hold 9999 bars

#

with the new 1.0 9999 stack size limits 'double-wide' chests really are not needed anymore for these ... in fact split storage solutions like this are not really anymore for bars, a single doublewide chest holding 3xslots of each bar would likely suffice for a solo-small group of players world

#

because honestly, the chances of holding even 29,997 of one bar are low
