For the Slayer update in April, please adjust the specifications for actions like charged slash (チャージスラッシュ) and weapon action (武器アクション) in order to reduce the reliance of repetitive button mashing for high-end Slayer gameplay

Reason
Currently, cancelling actions like step counter and flowing sirius stage 2 with weapon action substantially increases the dps of those sequences and the type 3 craft of reaping regulus is also extremely dominant because the combo of regulus>charge slash>wa23 is incredibly powerful

Why
These motions inflate the required number of inputs for playing Slayer without meaningfully contributing to the decision-making process when playing the class and in general incentivize unfun and physically tiring behaviors since it's just pressing one button over and over. It would be nice if the effect of these actions was reduced in some way (such as lowering their potency), and I think it would make the class both more fun to play and accessible

I get the intent but this doesn't exactly accomplish what you want.

Animation Canceling is fine as it adds a level of mechanical depth to playing the class. It's also not something you will always being doing (e.g. ypu can't ani cancel if you want to trigger Blitz Cascade). While 90% of the time it's optimal, it's not always.

Charged Blade is also fine. Sure it's used by Regulus as the class's bnb, but that's only because everything else in Slayer's kit kinda sucks. Rigel too expensive for its dmg and moves you, Spica is relatively weak, Sirius to slow. The culprit isn't so much Charged Blade itself but the lack of viable alternatives.

Relentless Blade is the real problem. It's always the correct choice. PA damage and resource gain is balanced around it existing. The game actively punishes you for not using it. Every single PA action forces you to input for it, and while you can just hold the normal attack down after PA input to trigger it, Slayer's PA's are fast enough that it makes little difference that you can.

i don't feel as if i want to get into an 'online discussion' about the slayer class in pso2 of all things on christmas morning so i am just going to say that i respect your opinion but i disagree very much

i don't think the animation cancelling adds any meaningful depth, it's more buttons of course but it's not like animation cancelling in base where you cancel pas into each other, it's always the same exact button so there's no decisionmaking in what you want to cancel with... it's just mash wa whenever it's applicable since it's always the right choice if the enemy is in range and if they don't attack then your dps is positive since wa has so much potency and if the enemy attacks then you get a free counter, in my opinion it's just annoying

i am going under the assumption that slayer is going to get generic potency increases for most of its pas with the update since that's usually the case in the past, charged blade is awful not just because it's more wa spam but also because it promotes a really lame (in my opinion) playstyle where you spend most of your time in invulnerability/counter frames (if you want to argue that extremely high-level slayer play doesn't use cbwa23 a lot then you're right but in optimizations wa123 doesn't meaningfully contribute to decision making as opposed to something like choosing between sspica or sregulus based on the situation or delaying ur, i feel as if it would just be an overall improvement if other things were buffed as filler as opposed to having an option where you mash the same button 3 times...)

i said this before in a different thread but i don't think relentless is a very big issue, you can take advantage of things like palette priority or the dedicated normal attack button to make it trivial or just learn how to do it the normal way and practice to perform it properly, even using blitz and doing srigelx3 for cascade i still feel as if it's not something that's impossible and everyone can do it given enough practice
