Challenge equipment for Arks Records

Why: Arks records are and have NEVER been balanced.

Reason: Arks records should be permanently within the classes, and you can decide on one class first and then you can no longer play the others.
To this end, Arks Records should be played with challenge gear, which is equipped when accepting Arks Records. Currently, players with BiS gear and a Leyend/Cres have an advantage over other weapons due to the difference in damage. With challenge gear, ALL players would be on the same gear level and ONLY skill would matter.

I think the problem is just- similar to a lot of mmos with PvP- is that there becomes the complaint of “[Paraphrasing but] I worked and spent so much time on my gear to give myself the competitive edge; if that’s taken away then why bother gearing so much?”

I agree competitive scenes are the most fair when the playing ground is perfectly equal but I know many don’t like things being perfectly equal because they’ve spent time and money to have the advantage

yeah it’s a fundamentally different thing (and also fun!) to have standardized gear. If their goal is to use arks records to encourage people to invest in gear and/or buy AC augments, or to give people a forum to show them off then standardized stuff doesn’t make sense

not saying I wouldn’t enjoy something standardized too, I would just expect it to be a second thing not taking over arks record as it is

Yea an even playing field is nice imo but
There could be different content for that or maybe 2 types of records, just so you don’t end up getting the backlash from people who spend for competitiveness

much more room for creativity yes I realize some of the “creative” stuff is really silly or probably shouldn’t work the way it does when all gear options are on the table too

Yea playstyles / fixas / EXs / legendios / tank setups to eat damage / glass cannon setups / etc etc
Competitive balance comes at a cost

i can see the thought behind it but locking gear also squishes any sort of meta shifting

i have separated the classes in my post 🙂 if you do records with ranger, you can´t do it with an other class.
An addition for it comes from an alliance member. If i do the recrods with one class and do it with an other class, then this class gets thre badges instead of the first one.

making arks records standarized is nice, but really, it's not the intention.
I agree they can just make two categories for it on combat ones.
Or you know, bring back challenge mode for ngs
