let me give an example.. in WoW, they homogenized almost everything, took the identity of most classes away over time..
at first, there was sth unique in every class in what they do and how they do it, there were many unique buffs, debuffs, passive supports.. i mained shadow priest throughout the history of my time in that MMO.. starting at vanilla, so i have seen it all..
there were man unique things, but over time, they either completely removed them, made them "just for the players themselves" or made it a shared buff with several other classes.. it kinda homogenized not what class you play but just if you are tank, healer or DPS and how much you do, but not what unique bonuses you bring.. and that took a lot of the flavor the game had away.. and it definitely is one of the things people appreciate when playing on a Classic server..
now back to PSO2: why should we do the same? so in the end it doesn't matter what you play bcs all you do is deal damage and nothing else? could also take away the huge down factor bonuses from bouncer, force and such, or the new shockwaves and fields Hunters make upon block/parry/Hunter Physique hit..
no, i think we are fine having those things, that is sth that gives important flavor and feeling to all those classes
