What are the small signs that you can notice that someone is just backstabbing you or being friendly for the sake of it or for their own needs? I'm going into college this year and would like to stop being socially naive. It would help to have some tips and advices on getting along well with people as well as how to distinguish between a true friend or not. Thanks!

Not sure, varies between unstable friendships.
My guess on some more narcissistic people is whether they care for your opinions or not. These people make it seem like they listen, but in reality they only want you to focus on them. Correct me if I am wrong.

one sign that someone is being friendly only because its convinient or takes less energy is they only are sweet & nice when everything is familiar & in their control (because they can put on that well-practised personality) but they flip at the first signs of inconvinience or unexpected circumstance. like being nice when in a group having a casual chat. but going to a busy market/working on the lab/in busy traffic/talking to someone nice but with a strong non neutral personality/in the group when someone behaves slightly differently but realistically inoffensively, it really puts people to the test & seperates the nice people from the kind people.

Okay so
1.In the beginning everyone will be nice to uh (90% people)
2.later as the tym passes u'll understand whc kind of people come in ur category and who don't
3. 99% of ur friends are wid uh coz they want something in return , nvr forget that
4. If they start making group try to stay away or take ur tym n join later
5. People will leave as they are done wid their work only countable 1 to 5 will be left in the end so don't give toooo much of ur tym /.get disheartened easily
Be strong I just remind myself this line " people come and people go, my life will go on with or without you....better i shd get back to studies asap"
