#How do you stay persistent in your choices?

Especially when you feel like you didn't choose for yourself/you chose something because of wrong reasons? Is there a way to connect with yourself in a way you know you are (at least 90%) right about something?

Like I feel like I choose my collage major for wrong reasons (CS, for money) and also I believe I'm stuck in the past (always thought I'll be a doctor/psychologist, it just won't work out).

I want to really choose something for myself (in CS, for example soothing connected with machine learning, have you heard about DALLE2? It's awesome). Yet I'm aware that this regret (?) thoughts will be present for long time. How to deal with it and stay on the road you choose?

Thank you for your answer. I like computer science but not in the way I like for example drawing. Problem solving in programming always brings me more frustration than satisfaction and I don't see a way to just play with it, neither do I want to play with it. As so, I doubt it can be my hobby

@slim kelp You say you wanted to be a doctor or something so why not try to make a bridge between what you are currently pursuing (which you can't switch I suppose) and what your heart yearns for?

You can build apps and websites that somehow relate to the profession you think u wanted to pursue.
For example - I don't know about medical stream much but you see those who built CATIA or SOLIDWORKDS or AUTOCAD were mechanical engineers cum programmers. Since they had a passion for coding as well as mechanics they built one of most widely acknowledged and used designing software in the world.

@slim kelp You can do the same too however the down side is you need to have a decent command on both streams ( one you are currently involved with and the one your heart yearns for). But I guess it is worth the struggle if you really really ( I can't emphasize this enough) wish to live with computer science (your wifey now) while having a secret little rendezvous with medical science ...
Damn! I sound like a total pervert!! 🤣
