hey everyone! i just would like to know ur tips on how to manage stress and/anxiety overload, especially because im a person who is very VERY bad at emotional regulation and with...not great ways of relieving stress (watching a heck ton of youtube, complaining to anyone who listens and crying a lot). when i didnt do any of those things i eventually blew up and took out my anger on my friends in a disproportionate reaction to a prank gone wrong. so any advice on short, time-efficient ways to manage stress and relieve any anxiety esp related to exams and studying?

(sorry for the long winded post btw)

This might not work for everyone, but for me... I like to lay down on the ground and take a few big breathes. You can stay there a bit and talk to yourself about what you're going through, like, what is really bothering you? What would it take to fix it? Is there anything to make you feel better? Stuff like that.
Just that bit of time with zero expectations you take for yourself to try to help yourself... Or do nothing, honestly, that works too... It usually helps me improve my state of mind a bit

I usually get these feelings but try to end them by some exercises or just running or simply sitting in one place with no music ( mostly at late afternoon or late night) on my bed ,legs folded then simply listing to the sounds coming from outside! Note:: it's the time when silence is present in my place ig!

Well am not good at emotion control either but i did had anger issues before, it was because my life was kinda stressful, so what i did was just keep my mind busy with things so that i don't think on it too much about it, also keep reminding yourself that there's a lot of stuff you have to do there's no time to waste on thinking how bad things are going atm, also singing or even humming any songs help you to relieve a lot of anxiety too and if you need a time efficient trick then there's one thing, when you feel you are tired or anxious about anything then just do something mindless things that make you laugh or smile just do it for a minute tho, its kinda distractive but works perfectly
Hope this helps you and good luck 👍

My first tips so far is try to avoid unnecessary notifications on your phone. It works significantly with me. I try to turn off notifications of all apps I seems no need to have constant notification like streaming apps, SNS apps (not only in the system settings but in SNS's settings as well: i only turn on the one very important like account alert notification). Too much notification can drains your energy so give it a short. Good luck!

I love writing a journal (technically it's a letter to an imaginary friend) so it serves as venting AND a great way to make things out. I find that it's usually easier to analyze the situation in a conversation but that kind of honest relationship is something I don't have-so I talk about it with myself. Writing it out on paper also makes it easier to look at it from a rational perspective. I understand that sometimes one can sit at a table with their journal open but can't figure out what to write-but once I start I can go on for a long time. And it's really relaxing or even empowering.

i usually sit in front of the mirror with a pen and paper in my hand and then sit there for like an hour maybe depend how easily I can know my own thoughts and what i am so stressed and angry about and write it down. then after an hour i look at that list and see if something i am stressed about is even in my control or not ,if it is I work on it other wise i try to eliminate it through self talk and meditation

Ive been dancing lately. Honestly being able to just sway and free me from any judgment has been so helpful for me. Mind you, im no dancer lol I go to shows and have a good time and love to dance in general but. Its amazing how that movement for like 15-30 mins helps keep my stress and anxiety levels down. It also helps with my cyclic vomiting syndrome

Depending on the type of person you are there are multiple ways. Some of the ones that work for me is working out, meditating, cooking, or driving with my favorite playlist. At first meditating seems slow and difficult but after a few attempts you will find it is literally like pressing the reset button. After a 10 minute meditation your mind will be clear and feel reset which may benefit emotional regulation! One final thing, you mentioned YouTube, definitely limit your phone usage because phones are very draining. Accomplish at least one small goal per day and it will help you feel happy and positive even if it means making your bed or taking a walk in the park. Remember to also get fresh air! Good luck !!

Reflecting on the cause and what triggers those feelings and then finding ways to do things that will make the task less scary/anxious
