#Debian 12 unable to update Netdata

I'm pretty sure that is not the correct way to update netdata. You should run:
wget -O /tmp/netdata-kickstart.sh https://get.netdata.cloud/kickstart.sh && sh /tmp/netdata-kickstart.sh
That might have been copied from one of the other tests I was trying. All of them met with the same result though.
Yes, it is still erroring out with the 404 error when attempting to reach that site.
Which is really strange because if I visit http://ppa.launchpad.net/cybermax-dexter/sdl2-backport/ubuntu, I do not have an issue reaching it. I even tested from the machine itself and not just another system on the network.
The 404 errors you mentioned have nothing to do with Netdata. I think you have messed up ppas or something.
OK, well I don't honestly recall how I built it when I originally installed this a couple of years ago, so I figured I'll R&R it.
Running the removal script from here first failed, but then it downloaded another uninstaller that found a "netdata native installation".
Continued on after that finished following the instructions for installing through Netdata Cloud. It still gives the error on the ppa. I am unclear on why it is using an ubuntu link instead of debian, but I know they are both basically the same kernel so that probably doesn't matter much.
I'll have to look into what PPA's are screwed up and how to clean them up. This was a rather minimal installation that was originally Deb 11, and I don't recall if I just upgraded it live, or ran a clean install of 12.
OK, cleaning that up was a lot easier than I thought it might be. Re-ran the cloud installer, and it went all peachy this time.
Looks good from here. Thank you guys for getting me in the right direction.
