I know that the Ohio class sub is goated here, and Type 055 is also good if you don't, play solo, but what about other ships like the Moskva, Type 212A sub, Skjold and Bismarck? Are they any good at all? Can someone quickly drop some info in what situations they are useful (if at all)? Thanks a buntch goats

I think the 055 is superior in solo play... Ohio's selling point is its firepower. It's a poor target for the Kirov with its SAM, but otherwise, it can even defeat the Iowa, so its firepower is impeccable. However, its slow speed makes it unsuitable for action. Its use is to become the Ohio when the time is right and take down a strong enemy in front of you. The 212a was unrivaled before the update, but it was significantly nerfed, so it's not highly rated. Its slow speed makes it impractical. Its use is to torpedo passing ships. Its defense is also excellent, but I don't think it's particularly strong these days. Bismarck is generally best avoided; its toughness and close-range strength are its strengths, but these are difficult attributes to evaluate in this game. Perhaps it evolves because it can't withstand stray torpedoes? In that case, Ohio or 212 would be fine. I heard the SKJ has improved in popularity, but while it has strong fighting ability, it has low firepower and durability, so I don't rate it highly. It's especially tough against battleships and Zumu ships, as they're bait. I think there's a limit to how much stealth you can hide. I think it's a ship that really shows the player's skill. It's difficult to handle.

The 055 is well-balanced. It lacks durability, but unlike the Zum, it can use torpedoes to escape and fire, which is its key feature. Still, I'd like a bit more firepower, so I would immediately choose the Zum or Kirov. With its SAM, stealth, and the ability to fire missiles and torpedoes in all directions, I think it has high survivability. I often chase a submarine with a helicopter and pincer attack it with torpedoes, using stealth to avoid detection and taking it down unscathed.

The moskva is well suited for anti-submarine warfare. Its four helicopters along with its many torpedoes are effective against a wide array of subs like the ohio and seawolf class as they lack SAM's . Its pretty good for defending bases and protecting fleets but usually lacks enough firepower alone.

It really depends on what you're going for. If you need a ship to do a specific job, like fend off subs or snipe out an Iowa, then you pick that ship. That being said, here are my picks for situations.

Sub defense - Moskva
Pretty self-explanatory with all of your extra torps. Moskva's best play usually involves running away from everything and torping behind you, this can work against big ships such as Kirov and Iowa, but is one of the more difficult things to do.

Low Health - Skjold/Bismark
These are more last resort upgrades when down on health and needing to either tank or outrun torps. Both of these ships can be serviceable, skjold more so than Bismark, but I would not recommend upgrading to these ships unless a) you'd die otherwise or b) you have enough points for a subsequent lvl 8 upgrade.

Solo Play - Ohio/055/212A

All of these ships perform extremely well when solo. The stealth buff greatly helped 055, but it still struggles against most subs. 212A got hit hard by the nerf, but is still viable if sensors are turned off. Ohio is extremely well-rounded with its only weakness being its single decoy.

Versus Fleet - Ohio

Ohio is the only ship that can compete and beat ships of high-level and of quantity in level 7. As long as one can get to the surface and reload/missile down helis, they can take on almost any fleet.

Versus Solo - Ohio/Skjold/055/212A

055 is usually used similarly to Kirov as a sniping ship, but it can deal adequate damage. Skjold is extremely potent against ships without shells, so be aware of your opponents weaponry. 212A can win a fight versus any ship minus Kirov and Iowa, so avoid those. Ohio is (in my opinion) the hardest submarine, and second hardest ship behind Kirov, to master in the game. But if you can manage it, it's an extremely deadly ship.

Weaknesses (in order of my preference)
Ohio - Helicopters/Akula
055 - Subs/Kirov
Moskva - Anything attacking from the front
Skjold - Shells
212A - Kirov/Yasen/Iowa/sensors

Bismark - High-DPS

The 212A is the best lvl 7 ship

#

Can take down all other lvl 7 in 1 go except Bismarck

#

I have taken down Kirovs and Clemunuces in a 212A

#

The stealth factor allows you to slip away so much easier

#

While you might not be able to take on a whole fleet like Ohio you can still handle at least 3 subs at the same time in one

# dense valve The 212A is the best lvl 7 ship

Honestly I haven't played it at all. I have to try it out. I alweays feel like level 7 is in a weard spot becouse there is no versatile ship for a solo, but maybe 212A is the answer ive been looking for

i skip lvl 7. i stay akula until lvl 8.

212 is too ratty. well against other subs. i never feel good about myself after killing another sub with 212. also if you dont win you are a sitting duck. i use it for escape if i have to. or base raiding. you can sneak right in there and then upgrade.
