They should make a version that is just a phone accessory, and gets internet, etc through our phone instead of having to pay for a separate bill for it.

I still plan to have a phone for videos, etc, so they could cut the price a lot by getting rid of the phone chip stuff

I’m thinking their idea is of having exclusivity of its customers to not need to use other devices? That was Apples concept when they made the iPhone “sealed” so we couldn’t add larger batteries or how they shut out its consumers by making their devices incompatible with outside accessories and etc. like how many chargers would not connect or charge Apple products. I just can’t see the founders wanting to share with outsiders. Especially if he and his wife used to work for Apple. It seems they left because their ideas for humane were not welcomed by that company, and I assume it’s why they started their own.

Well, I’ve just ordered mine. I’ve journey down the rabbit hole. I’ll update anyone as to how was this journey goes…

They still haven’t said WHEN these decided will ship, but my bank cd a get my money back should I not receive the device in a timely manner.

I ordered the white w/chrome b/c I think white is angelic and the chrome goes with my jewelry chain & 2 Apple smart watches, both of which both have jewelry-like attributes. I can’t wait to sport it when I get it.

Otherwise I would’ve just gotten the matte black. But they will be selling “skins” where I’ll be able to change it to different colors and etc.

And I’m not giving up my iPhone. Like we’ve discussed, I’ll be using that to watch videos and other things. I just want to see what the latest tech will feel like.

How are you liking this now?

I heard the company is trying to sell to HP for $1Billion now. I think HP could actually make a lot of improvements if that goes through.

Awe man, I got my refund before the #shiit hit the fan . And then after I heard initially that the owners were trying to ditch the company for around a billion when they only acquired donations in the $300-400 million range? I said I’ll back out and wait and see. Then my fears became true - they actually were trying to sell. I dodged a bullet because I really was sold on this device.

For the Founders to try and ditch the company in not more than a month of its released to consumers, that is a telltale sign that they know they’ve failed and that they have no intentions of trying to fix the many problems that plagued the device which they knew about but hid until after they released the product to those who’d pre-ordered.

I’ve been into crowdfunding and backing products which I thought we’re going to reach fortuity somehow, so I know when things which don’t look right are going to falter by the wayside.

I’ve never seen a company tried to bail out of a flying airplane which had just took off from the runway! lol 😝

So I immediately got my refund and started alerting others who thought they were purchasing when they were actually croutfunding, and posting comical memes repetitively in their discord channel. After about a few posts? They banned me from the discord. That let me know for sure, they were triggered by my fore-knowledge.

And so I went to Facebook wherever I saw anything about the AI Pin, and let everyone know to bail out while they had the chance.

So although I’d asked and received my refund well before I found out about the founders trying to sell the company, i was still going to get one. But the signs were already there that this device was not going to last.

When I’d convinced myself of refunding and later deciding against getting the device later on, it was because of its ability to only record 15 seconds of video and hoping they would increase that limit via a software update or something. Then I started thinking about it and I was like: “how the Fukncan someone use a device that’s only gonna record 15 seconds of video?”

What if there was something that I needed to record that I’d see on the street of an incident or something? It all just did not add up. I always listen to my 1st mind and it told me to recoup your pre-ordered funds and sit back and watch what happens. Then it said to just not get it at all. So that’s what I did.

You cannot believe how relieved I was when I’d heard Founders rumored of selling one month into the launch, and then finding out it was true that they were actually trying to sell the company for more than they used to invest in the device at only a month after it’s release! Phew! Once again - I’d dodged a bullet✌️😁

I think a future version could be okay, but it's not there yet. For example, imagine they have a similar AI pin that runs GPT4o with conversational voices and can constantly see through a camera, etc. Maybe better audio (option for earbuds, or bone conduction attachment), better and more custom gestures to do any kind of automation you want to control your smart home or whatever. There is potential here...they just didn't implement it. It feels like they were just trying to hype it and sell-out ASAP.

I agree. I tried to check, but there was no reason as to why the married couple stopped working for Apple. It seems as you’ve said that there was reason for them to hype the idea and sell out as quickly as they could. Yes it still has potential but their “idea” was for it to make us use or cellphones LESS. But now that SIRI will have AI in the next update…I simply see us using our iPhones MORE.

The other thing I see happening is the Apple Watch having a camera! That will be a dealbreaker IMHO because THEN we’ll have an AI Pin-like device - with a monitor or screen on it. That, together with the new AI SIRI? I think that will be the end of this AI Pin, altogether.

Totally. I think the only thing that could compete with a phone is something like a SUBTLE AR overlay...maybe something like contacts or normal looking glasses (not full headgear). Alternatively there are some cool options for AR without eyewear, but I think they are too expensive and only practical for a gaming room or something. If they work out a good way to do AR though, then that could be the end of a phone in a way.

I've never been interested in Contacts (I can't bear to touch or put something in my eye), but I'd make an exception and find a way to deal with it for some kind of AR tech! I think we're still some years out from that though.

Facts. And Correct me if I am wrong, but I saw this device being introduced as an AR device, when it’s not. It’s called the ‘Spacetop,’ and the reason it’s not an AR but a VR, is because in order to interact “with” your environment - YOU CANT. You have to remove the glasses in order to interact with your surroundings, and that negates the entire purpose of what an AR is. The other disqualifier, is that it requires the use of a physical keyboard. SO THAT MEANS you’re not fully in augmented state to operate a device that’s supposed to work in both real environment AND augmented. They’re mis-managing the term to try and make it sell…

Now what direction I think APPLE IS HEADED, is to slowly further shrink the APPLE VISION PRO. It IS 100% AR right now, as you are able to interact both in augmented AND with your physical surroundings. And you do not have to remove the device to do it. It’s also “already” fully integratable with all Apple Accessories and many devices via Bluetooth. I LOVE how All of Apples products are Eco-Friendly. So, if they can get that device to be as small as a pair of light glasses? That would be epic.

And of course, thats until we start getting into integrating and imbedding augmented devices into our bodies 😂

Of course ANY major change always has tons of opposition until it becomes normalized and then people think it was ridiculous that it was ever so controversial
