@zinc steeple do you ever do character design where you work with the commissioner to create the character’s look? (From references and maybe themes given)

I did for Petra, that black and white female, and the other female in that same group of pic, then the last one my client asked me to change him into Na’vi

Usually I don’t like to design too much, cause I feel it’s a huge responsibility and I am basically scared to disappoint my clients, but if the references are clear enough I am okay

I understand that. It can be intimidating. Unfortunately I do more writing than art so I don’t often get to see my characters come to life like above ;u;

I suppose it would be better to say: if you have a person they like as the reference for the Na’vi then it’s easier to transform them using the facial features and whatnot rather than just taking a vague concept and trying to create it from scratch

Yes it happens ^^ if there isn’t a face claim then I just do the face myself, depending on the temper or the story or few elements that are important

I just need explanation from first cause I don’t like to decide for people
