the black stuff is for grip, they have their own poles and they have to check them into planes! mondo (world number 1) has lots of tiktok’s between him and his gf carrying them through airports 😂😂 it starts low and once everyone’s had a go at getting over it (they get three attempts), it moves up a few cm! if you fail three jumps in a row, you’re out. then it’s whoever can get over the highest, if more than one gets over the same height and they both fail the height above, it counts back the fails, same as a high jump! the poles can break and it has happened before!
