Quite difficult to accomplish but with enough financial backing and developer man power we might be able to pull it off.
The problem is getting DRM content to play nicely with Xbox devices.
Not to mention nobody besides one person on the development team owns an Xbox.
I do
OG Xbox One
lmfao
+1 here - would be really useful, isn’t it basically windows behind the hood on Xbox nowadays?
Problem is the sandboxing and missing API's.
I guess so
but I don't think Microsoft would just allow to put Electron app on their precious console
a propos APIs, I'm not sure about
but not every Xbox API is publicly available or whatever
Linus was saying something about this
Xbox App
It’s actually been done…
we’re all hands on deck about this lmao
I’m wondering if there’s an Xbox version - surely it’ll be ported to windows officially soon 🤞
or in Cider’s case, an xbox is essentially just a large Steamdeck
I haven’t tried it - but surely your Linux release would work on steam deck in desktop mode?
we have a SteamDeck specific release
time to port it to Xbox
:)
Oh that reminds me - not the channel for it but on the Mac version are playlists limited to only show - 100 tracks? Or is that just me
musickit limitation
Ah damn Apple
very very different operating system
xbox appx submission’s are hell
but the UI we can reuse
@weary flume need to pounce HARD
the client code
is cider's
this is our fucking client shit
💀
Was hoping a version can possibly be compiled for Xbox devices as I use it as my main entertainment device in my living room and it doesn’t have an Apple Music app like PlayStation does. Could be very minimal with way less features then the main.
+1 apparently there were plans to bring cider to xbox at one point, would love to have cider on xbox as well as fullscreen navigation
if they added it probably should use AM TV version
