Can't Download From Taproom

I purchased on itch.io but the download button navigates me to taproom and none of the buttons there work.

I downloaded it this way by authorizing login with itch.io from the cider.sh page and it works (at least for me)

I did not make an itch.io account and I don't particularly have an interest in making one when I have a link that should give me the downloads.

i've been having a similar issue. i purchased cider through itch, though i wasn't logged in when i did. it's under my email so i can access it through there, but it doesn't appear in my purchases. because of this, i cant use itch to log in to taproom. is this a known issue or is it something on itch's end i need to figure out?

We unfortunately have to be able to maintain servers with actual paying users so authentication was a requirement.

Otherwise we're wasting a ton of money on services that arent actually being used by paying customers but leeches from scrapers and stuff like that.

We do understand how it can affect the experience and we tried to make it as seemless as possible by generating a token for you afterwards that can just be used as you wish

additionally we're making public "redist" releases too so you wont even need to sign in all the time to fetch the latest version

you'll just be able to use that sign in token and continue as normal
