Pretty sure lot of people have been wondering or asking about a native app for Android/Google TV. Given that nothing native exists (not that I know of) it would make sense to beat the competition (including Apple at this rate). Is it something that requires a lot of work? Cider on Windows runs circles around Apple Music for Windows and let's not even mention iTunes for Windows.

p.s The same goes for all the other OSes out there (not tvOS obviously).

I got no idea. I have a CCwGTV and it has ambient mode.

It looks like Cider client is written in electronJS. It is therefore very unlikely to be able to work in Android/Google TV.

Bit of an older request, but an Android Port is planned, it's just we have other priorities in the desktop app.

#

After Yokai is 'finished enough', we'll start development on Cider for more specialized platforms, such as Mobile and TV

#

and while we do use Electron on our non-windows platforms, Yokai is being developed so we can move away from that, hence why Android is on the backburner until Yokai is ready

If I haven't forgotten Cider portable is an Android app which can stream

Oh also @dreamy umbra will these Android builds be hitting the alpha release channel? Or directly itch

Alpha first

And currently there is no cider version for Android

(my cider mobile repo from a year or so ago doesn't count lol, very nonfunctional)
