okay so after running spicetify restore, uninstall Spotify and install this version:
https://upgrade.scdn.co/upgrade/client/win32-x86/spotify_installer-1.2.2.582.gfae9c59b-54.exe
after you installed it close Spotify straight away to stop it auto updating, then in an administrator CMD terminal run:
del "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update"
mkdir "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update"
icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /deny "%username%":D
icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /deny "%username%":R
then run spicetify backup apply
ok
you can probably skip uninstalling Spotify and just run the installer
should keep your settings that way too
though I'm unsure
