Hi!

I've made this video, and would be really grateful for any feedback 😉

I know the mic quality could be better and bacause I didn't catch it at the beggining the video sound is a bit quiet.

Beside that I've tried a lot of different things in this vid so I'm curious what do you think about them and what could I make better.

Thanks!

An intro to the series where I try to learn how to properly play Minecraft and not be a noob.

honestly i didn't rly get what's going on or what's the idea/reason for the video

#

and it feels like kinda unfinished can't explain

@raven canyon hmm, okey, so was the intro unclear or do you think I should better explain it later in the video?

#

The idea is just that I play survival but focus on improving things I'm not good at finally getting all the things that I was mentioning in the intro

#

but in the first vid I didn't have the opportunity to learn much cause of just starting the game so maybe I should emphasize that more in the next ones?

I think you’re asking for specific advice, but what you need is general advice.

My recommendation to you is to try to gain perspective. Post often. Your videos probably won’t do well, and that’s ok - you’re learning. Your goal is to get repetitions in so that you can understand what good content looks like. From there you can start trying to replicate success. It will take a while however.

Your goal is to answer two questions:

why do people click?
and
why do people watch?

From there you will learn:
How to make people want to watch
Storytelling
Pacing
Sound design
Vocal tone

Real talk: I didn’t even want to click this video because I instantly knew there was absolutely nothing valuable for me inside. Start there.

@quick flicker thanks for the feedback! So if I understand you correctly you basically say to post more often, I guess for it to work I would need to post shorter things but more variety of them so I can tell which gained more traction and which gained less.
Additionally then I think should focus on packaging and the idea itself more at the beginning so I can at least get some views so I can then analyse the video retention etc.

One thing I'm wondering about that I didn't mention it in the post is that I was confused that YT didn't show my video to anyone and I don't mean getting views but the thumbnail views (I don't know if it's named like this in English but I mean just showing the thumbnail ans seeing if somebody will click it).
I don't know if it's just because it's my first video? Maybe I should make another post with just this question. I'm asking because if I want to see which videos have potential and which not I would need at least a bit of information if anybody would like to click it and I feel like YT is not even giving me that by itself. So do you know if this is normal and I should just keep going or is there maybe something wrong with my channel or this vid that it is behaving in such way?

# flint stone <@125875732667826176> thanks for the feedback! So if I understand you correctly...

The algorithm will show videos to people if the video generates more clicks and watch time more than similar content. The algorithm is very very very good at identifying videos that are good with small amounts of information. If you get no views it’s because your video is not better than the videos other people are posting. One helpful thing you can do is look at outlier videos. Videos that performed, on average, better than typical on an individuals channel. Free browser extensions exist for this, such as VidIQ.

To clarify, look at outliers on other people’s channel. Ideally the people you take inspiration from.

when doing a series always rember to recap what has happened (should take 2-5 seconds) and i would skip the hello my name is... just since no one really does that nowadays. and do like your goals but theres no down side to it. like hardcore mode or a time limit. something that keeps the stakes high on the video. and always try to to keep things fast paced at first but then slow down when a good amount of progress is made. and for every video in this series always have some crazy big spectacle thing you want to do/makes. sandiction is the person you should study up on 🙂

Thanks @lyric patio, I will check it out
