I agree, I wanted the yellow to be at the bottom though. It is a problem phrasing. When you say plain, do you think it is positive or negative. I looked at Jons thumbnails a lot and obviously with more skill in graphic Design it would ne better

I think it can be good, however maybe change the colours to be more vibrant.
With the text, I agree layout can be difficult lol

I can see that. You think it would help to reduce the gradient to make it brighter or more vibrant colors in general? I tried some variation with violett and green that I did not like. But that is easy enough to try. I did add the yellow and grey to make it more vibrant
