@sick storm are u knowledgeable in this?
I think it depends on audience retention more, as livestream literally recording the whole stats of who's staying and watching the longest to recommend to.more peeps
Yeah
livestreams really require a dedicated audience because YT is looking to see how many people tune in especially from your initial notifications
so if I were thinking about doing a livestream, one of the top metrics I would consider would be looking at my YT Studio to see how many of my subs have rung the bell (i.e. have notifs on)
because that will have a huge impact on how many know about it as it happens - and therefore be more likely to tune in
from there, live chat and engagement matter but getting that critical threshold first is obviously what will make that easier
Here is my analysis after ~600 streams... It got completely different algorithm.. And i even read somewhere in google whitepaper how it works.. Basically you will be limited by % of your subscribers until you'll pass some thresholds ~1k-10k range. So you'll get limited discoverability before 1k, and then a bit limited until 10k(not exactly sure about this number).. They tend to basically rise until you'll hit some view wall probably based on CTR/AVD.. And they will also give you more discoverability if you setup them correctly based on topic... When i streamed hot stuff on channel with ~20k subs at that time, i got like ~500 viewers live... but after few weeks, view ceiling was around ~100... In my experience ~3 hours is sweet spot for stream.. like 3-4 for long stream, and 1hr if you wish to publish it as content later.. Since all my streams getting evergreen views even now
and if you wish to publish them, i found that ~1-2 streams / week is sweet spot too
since you not overwhelm guys who tune in for basic videos
othervise streams will tank normal viewership
