#Help me Plan a Gameshow!!! (Vol 1 and 2)
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
heyyy I'll give it a read and reply soon. if your actually putting this level of efforts in might be a success. Will suggest you to watch mrbeast intros. the way he started by showing himself on the screen and then pans out and with help of visual effects highlight the other 100 people and then pans out again and with visual effects highlight those 100 cubes
yeah ill write out the intro/script in Vol 2 or Vol 3
making such a intro will assure a good packaging just a suggestion which u can include in your script
yeah 100% - im gonna go into more detail about script and how the video will actually flow in a bit
@hearty whale
-
firstly for title. I like the second one. to the point and direct
-
thumbnail: consider taking mrbeast thumbnails as inspiration. the one where he gave 1 million dollars in a creators games or the recent one with 50 creators. Definitely the current ideas is awesome but better if some more inspiration is been taken frm youtuber doing these videos already
-
I like the idea of buzzer round but remember the question should be very relavant for the audience watching so ensure it's not some history question which viewers got no idea about.
-
the other 2 tound ideas are great aswell. if u do split and steel, do it in the vibe of deal or no deal. it's gonna have ti have drama or suspense.
-
Good you got a list of equipment sp you know how much it might cost.
-
As I suggested look into videos of people who do gameshows
-
You will be recording in outside and not in a custom made studio so ensure the colour grading is great enough else it might feel like a rip off
-
Take care of camera and mic footages as you will have a lot to edit. might feel really difficult to review all footages alone so I have a suggestion to fix this issue. maybe get a teammate to help you with editing or reviewing footage. it could be your best friend tbh. also remember that even mrbeast crew makes notes of things while watching footages
-
Do not delay it. If 1 video takes 4 months to make that will be bad. better have 1-2 video per month or more if possible with effective time management
On point 7, im gonna try and be filming this is my college lecture hall that has a stage and lighting built in if theyll let me 🤞
on point 9, im honestly happy to have larger gaps in uploads (2-4months) and make a massive mark on the platforms than make smaller videos im not happy making. Cos i can also make shorts out of this content even if its one a week or something 🤷♂️
🙏
sure if that works for you
package lacks curiousity
as "project" longterm it could work
but you need some stronger "reason to click"
thumbnail, title or both?
combination
i mean it's "fine"
but need more spice to really stand out
you can actually like keep it as "placeholder"
and then think about more thumbs after show , showcasing some biggest moments
of lies/weird phrases
BUT...again it's like....anything can work ;)
and in long run probably your first idea is more stable
so i can't clearly pinpoint "what package lacking"
so waiting for other suggestions)
Ok cool thank you
im working on the intro script ill post in a little bit 👍
probably in about 30mins actually i just had to finish some other non YT bits and pieces lol
Help me Plan a Gameshow!!! (Vol 1)
Help me Plan a Gameshow!!! (Vol 1 and 2)
This Volume contains:
- Intro script (first draft)
- Episode structure
- Accompanying script for the opening for each round
@hearty whale could you turn the pdf into a google doc if you don't mind?
good
yeah can do mate
yeah fine
fixed script
Intro:
Me: In front of me is £X and five contestants !
They're gonna compete in 3 Challenges(Games?) to decide who will take the prize , meet NAME
“Hi i compete because ___ / want money to ___” [record x5 for each contestant but show only 2 first, then instantly into R1 and then fill the gaps in edit]
removed all unnescesary stuff
improved tempo
removed repeats
so pure value and dynamic
so do i ever show the other three contestants saying “hi im…” or no?
yeah
just fill some gaps to break the tempo in the middle
you just need to always understand one thing ... "people don't care"
i just engraved this into my mind, and going through this prism, alot of stuff becomes preety obvious
it's also before i went onto YT :)
but basically.. you need to make them care...that's why curiousity loops / knowledge gaps and other stuff is so good and powerfull in storytelling/scripwriting
but from the beginning people just clicked to watch a "game show"...and if we will hear intro for 30 sec. then 5 stories of people we don't know, and won't ever see again probably, for next 3 minutes.. then rules for next minute....probably it's faster to just press on next stuff in recomended feed and check ho mrBeast goes into 1$ vs 999999$ hotels in a span of 9 munutes
thats why, since your contestants aren't out after R1...you can completely skip intros, and just go straight into content... and fill gaps with they lines when something happenes
very true… people dont actually care youre right. Damn that hits lol. Imma work on a new script then
like... blind case fake (R3?)... in case "eliminated" , contestant lies -> swap to line "Oh , im Ted, i want this money because i need them to go for my favourite singer concert...i will do anything for them"
so get footage...but introduce it in a bits
OHHHH like aside rooms yeah gotchu
you can check Jimmy's 1vs100 decide who will win 250k
when do you hear first story of contestants?...at around ~30 mins, when there is ~10 left
because no one cares actually...
but when there is 10 left...we already saw
who's lier, who's nice...who did what.. got symphaty to some contestants etc.
so we're interested in stories already
ok hear me out. I’ll make a list of all the possible shots i’ll film and then organise them into a list for the edit on how to make the story. Is that a good idea?
fine i guess :)
but technically all you need, is small interview with each contestant, so just prepare few questions
and then just film games
technically , what else?
what kinda Qs do you reckon would be good? The only one i have is “what will you do with the money?”
oh ok gotchu yeah
Thats a good idea
think how can you describe possible actions players would take along the way. and get questions/ansewers related to them
like i said, R3 is all about "i only tell truth vs sneaky liers"
yeah R3 is definitely climax of story and i gotta figure out how to build characters in R1 & R2
so it's a basic edit -> "Player A "im eliminated" -cut- "I will always tell truth" -cut- but she lied! because she hates John now"
last part is your voice over ofc
right im starting to get it…
im gonna go over and watch some similar content with a creator brain on rather than a viewer brain on lol
thanks for the help as ever bro 😁😁

Tnt Ideation
Title: “Beat my Gameshow, Win $100” already popular title format
Thumbnails:
i would argue that most of these vids have done well because of the presence of other famous YouTubers in the thumbnail/title
but a common theme in all of them would be some kinda split screen thumbnail
and curtains
(understandably so)
@hearty whale Ok just looked over it, it's good. I see that you're putting alot of effort into and you're trying. But again, I echo what I said beforehand. No one's going to watch your gameshow if you're competing just on the monetary factor. Sure "win 100$" is a proven format, but not in the way you're doing it. The YouTubers even you showed with the 100$ in isn't doing like a full on gameshow like you're trying to do, they're taking it with just fun. Not taking themselves too serious.
As I said before, I think you have lots of potential. You're grinding. You're scrappy; and I applaud that. However, you are focusing too much on the monetary prize. For you, the prize should be secondary. It's not what people are going to watch you for. You're going to have to hook them in on your personality and the "x-factor" of the gameshow.
To understand thumbnail, you need to analyze not only "what" on it.. but "why" it makes people click
And as you said. All of them is with biggest creators + from biggest creators
So it's definitely not your case now. Install vidiq, and find some proof of concept on smaller channels
i have vidiq app and use their website as well. But because i dont have a PC i cant use the VidIq extension (i edit on ipad) which is VERY depressing : (
I appreciate my effort is showing - im trying really hard!
- Question tho: is it not enough ‘wow’ factor by showing the viewer that this is a ‘real’ gameshow and not some knockoff down in my living room or something?
like within the first 5-10s it will be clear that I have a cash prize, Ive got five contestants, 3 rounds, 1 winner…
i reworked the script to be a bit snappier i’ll post it here:
when u rework it remember it's a person whom you don't know will watch it
(i might not cut back to me/skip scene 4 and leave it on contestants for slightly longer)
Yeah I mean like thats all fine, but don't make money the x-factor. Showing people, showing that the quality is better is really good to hook people. But you will never be able to hook people with the money. So ig what I'm trying to say is that you should veer away from the money. like instead of making your gameshow revolve around the cash-prize (which it seems like it is as of right now), make the gameshow itself unique.
I keep saying this again and again, and you have to understand it.
There's gameshows (traditional gameshows) already out there giving away tens of thousands of dollars as cash prize. There's also mrbeast and other channels giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars as cash prize.
100 dollars?
people won't care
I like good quality, but good quality doesn't mean needing to have a cash-prize. Good quality is having a good gameshow idea and executing it well.
I guess to sum it all up basically think of sports. I mean ig the obvious comparison would be a basketball player who's like 10 feet Vs a basketball player who's 7 feet. The 7 feet basketball player could never beat 10 feet basketball player just on height and physical ability. What the 7 feet basketball player can beat the 10 feet basketball player though is with special tricks that not only are really "special" but also use the 7 feet basketball player's pure physical abilities as an advantage... or even the 10 feet players physicial ability as an advantage. Basically for the 7 feet players advantage... it could be better movement/faster movement. If they want to use the 10 feet's player's disadvantage as an advantage... the 7 feet player could use the fact that the 10 feet's players center of gravity is "worse", so the 7 feet player could just storm through the 10 feet player by using a lower stance than a higher stance.
Right now, Mrbeast and other large channels are the 10 feet player and you're the 7 feet player. Cash-prize is the physical ability. Mrbeast is doing videos with hundreds of thousands of dollars, you're doing one with 100 dollars. You can never beat Mrbeast with that. So don't try to. Use other things to your advantage. Since you are a smaller channel, maybe you could adapt faster, make more videos than mrbeast. Maybe since you're in a school (like I said in the other thread), you could make a school themed gameshow. Things like that. Those are things you have to really consider and in my opinion understand.
Reason: Duplicated text
Yeah, its always down to two parameters -> Better or Different
If inspiration comes from big dudes, it's always -> different, since 99.9% its impossible to do better than established pro teams
Yeah thats very true actually… hmmm. I guess its coming up with another factor to make the packaging interesting…
wow this is tough 😅
NEW title idea: “I Challenged 5 Students to Win £100”

I think that's a really good example of what you should go for. You can't compete on money. 100$ (or pounds) just isn't as interesting as 100k.
Don't compete on money, compete on idea.
havent seen this video before - thank you so much. Ill check it out for sure
my college is quite diverse so i could honestly even do my own spinoff by using the rounds i created etc
imma watch this video now 🫡
yooo @hearty whale vid when?
Late sept earliest to mid oct latest is the vision
im still on summer break so its all still planning and stuff bro
I go back to college on 2nd sept so everything in motion from then. (I have a test on the 4th and 10th sept but then ill be free for a while)
the videos is all planned now so thats good. Gotta get a few things sorted still:
