but i figured if i sold tickets to students at my college i could use that money as a prize fund

ive written a theme song concept for the show and im trying to figure out how to make those 3d animation transitions that you see on gameshows

and i also figured putting money in YT titles is helpful to get views lol

say his first vid gets 10k views, the people who took part in the show will be even more excited for the next one and if he is good at storytelling which is difficult in irl shows like thus, it could turn out to be good

This is my logic pathway (lets take a stroll down it together):

  • im a broke student with 0 chance of being able to host a venue privately but at college i can leverage my ideas for nearly free. They have a lot of equipment i can just borrow as and when i please (if its available) and i can book out either the smaller studio i use now or my dream larger hall with ~200 capacity seating (either work tho to be completely honest). If i dont do this now when can i? Who knows what the future holds

@drowsy heath Don't focus on money being the "x-factor" of your show. Unless your dad is idk King Charles, you will never be able to make money your "x-factor" especially while competing with people like Mrbeast.
I feel like what you should make your x-factor instead is the fact that you're in a college. So what things can you make an x-factor about a college? The way I see it the obvious x-factor is that college is a place of learning. I think you should do more of a "college rap battle" idea and basically make it that the show is about people from different majors doing rap battles about their major. I know that this still sounds like a half-baked idea, but I do believe that you could do something unique by capitalizing on the fact that colleges have different majors.
Obviously I fully admit, this isn't the best idea, but this is a start. What you should focus on, I believe isn't creating the next big "money price" gameshow, or the next big "mrbeats". What you should focus on is how can I make my own thing. The way I see it, you're in a college, there really isn't a gameshow thats like really college-themed. So if I were you I'd be asking myself, "how can I make it so that I apply similar concepts from other proven formats to a college-themed show". Thinking that you will be able to successfully compete with Mrbeast and even traditional tv shows at what their best at (cash-prizes) is wishful thinking. You need to find a x-factor. I'd say thats the most important thing for you right now. Think of an x-factor. Don't do anything before that, find a x-factor. Once you have the x-factor build other things around it.

(without sounding cocky/bragging cos im not way) im decently smart lol. I got all As-A*s in my GCSEs (exams for 15-16year olds in UK). I could just do studies pretty easily and go uni etc but i dont like that (postively hate it tbh) Thats the pivotal factor

I'm guessing if you're decent at academics, it takes maybe max 2 hours? 3 hours per day to study and get by on exams pretty well right?

i start at 9am and finish at 4:40pm most days (sometimes 3:30). I get an hr for lunch from 12:40-13:35 (when i film now). If i register my idea as a club i can have a 1.5hr slot to work in rather than 1hr at lunch

if uni takes up idk 6 hours, studying takes up 2 hours lets say, and you sleep for like 7 hours, thats 15 hours. You have 9 extra hours to do what you want to to do. I'd prolly guess you have like a part-time job or your planning to get one. 3 to 4 hours of part time job per day brings you 6 to 5 hours to work on YT. If you plan your filiming well, edits, well script well, etc, that should be enough time per day to work on YT.
Obviously during weekends you will prolly have more time so like 5 times 5, from monday to friday you already have 25 hours to work on YT. then in weekends lets say if alltogether you spend like 14 hours? (7 hours on sat and sun), thats 49 hours of YT.

@drowsy heath Obviously I'm not gonna tell you to block your friends and all that, but if you're really serious about making content maybe like don't go out with friends on friday night and use that time to edit as well, and also like cut out your tv, youtube, and games. like don't do them at all. for youtube just pick like 5 creators you really like and you think could help you grow as a person. watch them only. thats already gonna save alot of time.

yeah yt is a big time killer for me. If you could tell lol i love yt and the hardest part is gonna be cutting that heavily out of my schedule. I feel like i have enough knowledge now about yt to make a solid start. Idk if youve seen my channel but my thumbnails arent bad nowadays and i know/have learned how to avoid typical beginner mistakes (obviously i will still make mistakes im human lol). As for a social life i dont have one. My ‘friends’ usually do stuff without me lol and tbf ive spent most of my time for the past 1.5-2yrs learning about YT

weekends if you want to go further maybe 10 hours per day, so 20 hours per weekend
ideally thats 65 hours. even if the ideal sitaution doesn't work thats 65 hours that you have to be able to spend. even if time managing fails and you only happen to get half of that time, thats over 32 hours every single week for YT. Man, you really have no excuse at that point. Just start. Stop talking on discord, start talking on YouTube.

first step is work on a solid timetable. I got important stuff i gotta do this holiday (write uni application, get work experience i mentioned earlier, charity work and revise for tests i have first week of sept)

theres this fun thing called a “personal statement” you have to write for a uni application. A 4000 (yes four thousand) character piece of writing about yourself and why the uni should accept you above all others (idk if that exsists elsewhere in the world tbf) but thats NOTORIOUSLY TIME CONSUMING

Since i decided to flip everything and go all in on YT last year, i got about~20k$ spare to invest... I invested 0... My approach is simple, think 10 times before investing on "can i do something cheaper?"

It trains brain alot, to find solutions, instead of dumping money into something you wont ever need

Looking backwards, it looks like i probably should've invested a bit... Since i was blocked alot by PC to produce content ... but in the end, i wouldn't got alot of skills i achieved by overcoming complicated stuff
