Wait
how can I make my short better?
Step into the virtual world of ROBLOX and explore some of the most extravagant houses, villas, and apartments in the game! From cozy games to Horror Hotels, would you consider living in these ROBLOX games?
Well for starters you cut off the first word
The dots didn’t connect as wel. Like I was just confused the whole time
dots?
What would make it less confusing yet have retention still high?
Less confusing will increase retention
What was the objective of the short
What was the key point and/or points that you tried to make
To show which roblox games I would live in if I had a choice.
But I kinda see what ur going
There isnt really a full point
You scrolled by them so fast I couldn’t even really understand what was happening. The music is so loud compared to your voice that I really can’t even understand anything
I’m supposed to be reading the names of the game and watching the bottom half of the thing? It makes no sense to me honestly. Information overload
Right. So, even if I had a longer explanation about all the different things. You reckon people would still watch?
Alr
im gonna try to explain the main concern here but it might get complicated
buckle up
alr lol
so
on the screen when you say "These Roblox Games 🤷♂️" you unintentionally direct my eyes to the bottom of the screen where the emoji is and then instantly cut to where the next information that is relevant is at the top of the screen. so im left looking at some random game where someone is jumping onto trucks and the point you are attempting to make has already passed by before i can figure out where im supposed to be looking
Yeah right
So, make sure the audience has time to know where they are looking and what they are getting
your objective with editing is to direct the viewers attention to what matters
Yeah ok
And with the different games. Do you think I should talk at a normal pace and let the audience know which games I’m talking about?
uh oh
Yh ik lol
Do you though?
I know it’s bad. But I want to know more on why it’s bad
The title says "would you live in these roblox games" and the short doesn't even name the games that you are asking if people would live in.
Right ok
Sure I get that you're trying to go for like situation meme comedy type thing with the short
But man, this isn't comedy, this isn't meme
like sure some people who are like really into roblox might get the subtle easer eggs
but not all
most won't
Ok
not just that, the entire short
like for doors for example
one example of many
you explain the game doors and make a meme out of it, but it's not clear whether it's doors
yeah
True
go watch some shorts from similar creators, if i was you I would break them down cut by cut, word by word. take note of what they are saying and what they are showing. take not of how they get you to the point they are trying to make
I'd say that's extreme honestly
Yeah. I’ll try that
i say that because its so hard to communite how far off we are here
But it's not the right solution for joshu
where would you reccomend someone in that position starts then
cause thats how i went about things, but i was quite different
@autumn sphinx Look it's simple lets start with a question. K?
Do you want to build a community right now, or do your want to gaing followers quick?
people who like you for you, id imagine
Oh yh
Like build a community around your content, get like ig what colin and samir call super fans.
Not just like Tiktok fans that don't even know you
but like actual fans who not just watch your content
but like stay loyal to your channel
K
Great start, and great decision
one tiny problem
until now your only content strat is shorts
Yes
thats an extremely bad way to go about it
Interesting
especially when it seems that you have pretty decent ideas that in fact would be optimal for videos but you made it to shorts only
possible video idea
Right
your packaging is actually pretty good in my honest opinion
this is the first scene
I'd doubt that's good packaging
What would be good packaging
well title isn't packagaing, it's just a part of it
indeed
for shorts or videos?
Idk. Vids maybe
thumbnail and title create a curiosity loop, intro gives more context & also expands the loop
Ok
i would to see this idea in a full video
i think its a fantastic idea
Should I create it a video? Or not bc it's already a HOLY Heck thats a lot of words
Or not bc its already a short*
but its been posted about
@autumn sphinx Look here's what you're going to need to do if you want to build a community on Youtube
-
Forget about the YoJo YouTube channel. You have 255 subscribers sure, but I'm assuming they're all from your shorts, since you've only uploaded shorts. Unless you showed alot of your personality in your shorts, which it seems like you didn't... those subscribers won't come over to your videos. That's bad, since they're your subscribers. YouTube is going to push your videos to those same people. They're most likely not going to click. Because they subscribed to you through shorts. They didn't subscribe to your channel because they liked it, they subscribed becuase they were mindlessly scroling. So yeah, scrap the YoJo YouTube channel.

Make a new channel. Name it JoshuWooha if you want. Name it anything you want. For the description, don't do this "Subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out on any gaming updates!". It's generic, and has no CTA. Do something rather more like "Subscribe for Roblox videos!" and post the subscribe link underneath. You just have to put
?sub_confirmation=1behind your channel link. So for like YoJo it would behttps://www.youtube.com/@yojotube4660?sub_confirmation=1. When people click that, they're able to subscribe rightto your channel. -
Don't just post videos mindlessly in the new channel. Start with 3 to 5 videos start ight from the get go with the channel. <-- When you're in this step, you've gotten the idea, come back in the server and feel free to ask questions for thumbnails and titles and intros and other stuff. We're happy to answer them.
^PS: Change the Text to speech voice to your own voice if possible. IT's going to make community building much easier.
yeah i usually scroll past videos with ai voice
CTA = Call to action btw
alr
I'll see how I go..
also think about if your gonna do youtube as like a hobby or like treat it seriously
Yep ok
^PPS: Here's how you should determine whether to make a video or not. It's the way I do it, feel free to use it, warp it, make it into your own.
@autumn sphinx
alr
you made this?
yep
i like it. how come the "no" on if its easy to make points to the same as the yes
i would imagine that to be an exit clause, am i wrong?
the packaging?
yeah, the no and yes go to the same place
Well to put it simply (I could be wrong), but imo as long as your passionate about the idea, there's almost always a way to get around hard packaging.
