How Dodford became a YouTube filmmaker

This was the old thumbnail, for comparison. Trying to go for a more premium and minimalist look now.

great thumnail. I would personally perfer to have natural colour atleast for the main character with black background in main thumnail. also I cannot understand whats written behind even thiugh it looks so cool

The text behind is the word "EXALTED" which is the name of the podcast, so the idea is that every episode thumbnail would have that in the background, and what would change is the episode number, name of guest, and of course, the photo of guest

I agree it's hard to read, but if I try bringing it to the foreground in any layout, it occupies too much space.. I definitely want the* primary focus to be on the guest

Perhaps I can try lowering the brightness of the word EXALTED, so it looks less important

Yes but people that scroll in the homepage wont be able to readi it I think

because they don't stop and take the time

so you shouldnt hide it

Nice thumbnail! The text behind the subject really works. I would make the dodford text black. The red dodford and the red exalted competes for my attention too much. IMO

Haven't figured out what to do with the background test yet, but have changed name to black

Nice! I am splitting hairs, but I would also move Dodford down a bit so it isn't over the knuckle. NBD though

Haha, I'm happy to do that for now. But since it's gonna be standardized for all thumbnails we might have another guest's knuckles getting in the way someday 😅

If it's episode 5 then the viewers (most) would have watched the prev episodes. I would focus 80% on consistency with previous thumbnails but take this lightly cus i am not a creator lol 🙂

But that's if the last ones were effective and worked well
