I'm considering starting to poll my YouTube audience with 2 or 3 different thumbnail options before I upload the video. Hoping this will give me a better idea how my audience responds to certain types of thumbnail, and that it will help my CTR.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I noticed on some channels that if they post thumbnails in a multiple choice poll, it crops the thumbnails into squares, cutting off the sides. Any good workarounds? Any other tips welcome, thank you 🙂

Well if you have an Instagram you can do it easier on there especially if your audience also follows you than you can do it like this

Audience won't choose the most clickable thumbnail, but one they liked the most. Different stuff. They will chose the one which is prettier, or funnier, but not necessarily better in terms of the video's performance

This is exactly what I've done in the past. I'll test out titles this way as well. I've gotten great feedback from my audience too which I can then incorporate before posting.
