Any feedback on title above or thumbnail?

Context on video:

  • I had a chance to interview top creators like Charli D'Amelio, Rhett & Link, Mark Rober, Jay Shetty, and more on the red carpet of the Streamy Awards the other month.

  • I asked them about what's the most they've made in a month on YT, what's the most they've ever spent on a single videos, how they've build their teams, and so forth as part of a Forbes article I wrote.

  • This video is super cut of all the best moments and was inspired by Jordan Welch's similar video that he did with top creators at VidSummit

@worldly tundra This is a great thumbnail.
One question that came up when I saw this is ( curious to know your perspective on this)

If you look at the screenshot (Jordan Welch) you will see that his thumbnail(exhibit1) has "Iman Gadazhi" in the title + the 30 million in the thumbnail.

Your thumbnail has " CHARLI D'AMELIO in the thumbnail without her name in the title + million in the title(not the thumbnail). Reverse.

The question is:
I understand that youTube's meta data + Thumbanil + description + saying "CHARI D'AMELIO" in the video will help your video show up as a "related" video on her channel: With that said, do you think its worth testing having the thumbanil be flipped, where her name is in the title and the "Millionare" in the thumbanil to increase the relevance of the video to her audience so you are more likely to apear in related searches on her channel.

I see that you are doing this with "Streamy Red Carpet" wich is likely going to be more "related" because it was there(at their event), but again, I am curious if what I said is even something worth thinking about. Her audience of 9.38M can create more awareness for your video so having her name in the title, can be worth doing.

Best

If it’s about the money. Be nice to see some money in the thumbnail.

#

If you have to name plate someone they don’t make the thumbnail. No one’s putting a Mr. Beast on a thumbnail with an arrow saying “look this is so and so”

Interesting, Im excited to see the video. I have two observations:

  1. The image looks a bit too photoshopped imo. Is there a way you can take the screen shot of the frame where you actually interviewed Charlie and try to play around with that to make it seem more realistic? I’ve seen this less photoshopped approach work more and more with creators.
  2. I agree with Vadd- I would personally be more likely to click if you put a $$ number like “2 Million” instead of her name. If you are targeting aspiring creators or people that consume content on social media, I think most of us will be able to recognise Charlie D’Amelio, so Im not sure if it makes sense to add her name.

Do you think it’s clear from this thumbnail that its Charli if I remove her name and replace it with a money sign?

Your title of “I asked YouTube Millionaires how much they make” i hate.

You literally tell us in the title the answer. It just kills curiosity. Feels like I don’t have to watch the video to have watched the video.

Maybe, I feel like this video needs 2 thumbnails.

  • one that pushes the interviewee
  • one that pushes the query

see what get's the response you want

#

the Only through line here ^ is that microphone. It's in every thumbnail that's an interview

#

but the story is the interview. having the microphone clue's the potential viewer in.

#

through line and story here ^ is about the money. The thumbnails reflect that 7 of 8. (cash symbols, dollar amounts, literally cash)

#

I'd
A / B
test

#
  • one that pushes the interviewee
  • one that pushes the query

Or double down how who you made the video for.

I would have loved to see a selection of some of the big YouTubes in the thumbnail. If you don't know who Charlie is (or care) you may skip this one. If you have more Creators, you have a wider appeal.
I also would focus on the money as that is the interesting thing
One thing: the title...PERSONALLY not a fan as if I don't care, I wouldn't watch - people don't like to feel inferior. And the Streamys are such a niche thing (vs something like Oscars).
So something along the lines of "The amount of money these YouTubers spend on a video is mind blowing" or "These YouTubers reveal just how much money they spend!"

IMO I feel like maybe this type of text (in less words) on the thumbnail might work better. In the Noah thumbnail, I don't need to know who that random lady is to be tempted to watch the video

#

Also the thumbnail, charli is very grainy and it's really throwing me off. do you have an IRL photo from the event you could use?

#

Maybe a money sign like this?

#

except replace emchamb with charli and the lady wearing chainmail with you

#

i just found this random photo of charli but this one is non-grainy and matches the resolution of your face in the thumbnail (I don't know if the technical terms i used are correct, i hope you know what i mean though!)

#

and I agree with all the above sentiments as well. I'm an old man + I don't even use Tik Tok and I know who charli is, I feel like it would be a waste of valuable space to write her name

Going to try tweaking it and will circle back

Maybe I'm the wrong guy (not a big fan of charlie) but I have seen charlie a few times before and I don't recognise her in the thumbnail. If you have to tell people who the person is in the thumbnail because you're worried that people might not recognise her, it might better to pick another person (or at least another image of Charlie)

In my opinion, if your target audience are youtube lovers/creators (which is my assumption based on my experience of your videos) it might be better to feature respected YT greats like Rhett and Link or Mark Rober instead of "a tiktoker"

#

Personally, I might not have clicked on the thumbnail with Charlie but I might have clicked on a thumbnail with Rhett and Link or Mark Rober, because I have a lot more respect for the latter 2 people. (nothing against Charlie, I'm just not her target audience)

Rober is goated ^ aka who’s on the thumbnail matters for what audience your targeting.

don't know here at all, but do know the rhett and link people. I guess women get more traction than men in a thumbnail?
