Does a video that is in a different language than all the other videos on a channel affect it's reach? so for example mainly english channel but one german video. I plan on making some short films but they will be in german because I live in germany and my actors would be speaking german as well. Will it be pushed more in germany and/or will the whole channel reach (to english speaking countries) be affected by it?

I've been told by one of my YouTuber clients not to mix languages in a single channel as it does hurt reach. This is secondhand, so hoping someone else here can weigh-in.

Literally I posted the same video yesterday, one in english and the other in spanish. English one got 250 views and spanish one 1.9k

So I have no idea what the hell (they are in different channels and I have more subs in the english one)

think from your audience point of view: if they come to your channel in English (or any language) their expectation is that your videos are in that language. If you start mixing different languages on the same channel, they are likely not going to click on it when it pops up in their Home Page and if they don't click, YT will take that as a signal that they may have lost interest. You will see it in the data and interpret it as not reach.
Also if someone discovers your channel for the first time, they are going to watch other videos. But if those videos are in language they dont understand, they are less likely to click on the sub button or to come back.

Related: YouTube is testing having audio tracks - so you will be able to have the same video and people can select different audio tracks but that isn't rolled out yet. (see it on Mr Beast channel)

Recommendation: keep languages on their own channel to best cater to that audience. It helps with advertisers, brand deals, and audience discovery beyond "search traffic"

I sometimes even change the info a little bit more depending if the channel is the english or the spanish speaking one đŸ™‚ like for example, for Spanish speakers they are not as familiar with such culture/religion like Islam so I give an extra definition of something (like they usually dont eat pork) but in english I dont have to add that information because its more of a common knowledge kinda thing.

I tested this on my channel. I paid a Spanish-speaking friend if mine to voiceover 3 of my videos in Spanish. We re-did thumbnails to Spanish, etc. They completely tanked. I think it confuses the algo.
My next thing I try will be just translating the c.c.s

# toxic bluff I wonder why

MrBeast gets to combine the views from his various channels (eg Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese etc) into one single channel.
They don't have to expend the effort to run so many channels.
There are other reasons which he talked about in the video but I can't remember them.
